Did anyone have the placenta covering their cervix at the 12 weeks scan?

I had it covering half the cervix at 12 weeks, so I was wondering if anyone alctually had placenta previa at the 18 week scan or had it corrected itself.

Hi, My placenta was covering part of my cervix at my 19 weeks scan, so i had another scan at 32 weeks, and it's moved way up. It's now sitting almost at the top of my uterus, on the right hand curve of the top. From what i've read, they nearly always move up out of the way, but they will no doubt check you again in later pregnancy to make sure all is ok.

take care,
krissy

I wouldn't be concerned at all at 12 weeks, it's probably pretty common for it to be covering. Usually as the uterus gets bigger it moves with it up and away.

Placenta previa is not normally diagnosed until well after 18 weeks. They just call it low lying placenta at that point. They usually do another scan at 34ish weeks to see where it is at. 90% of the time they have completely moved away in that 16 week time frame.

I wouldn't worry at all just yet. :)
