OK GIRLS, i am in pain and as embarrasing as this is i need HELP :o , what can i do for Constipation ??? coz this really hurts :gloomy:

This happens to alot of women, what about prune juice(very good) or eating apricots, what about natural products from the chemist?

Drink lots of water.

Get some metamucil (sp?) and get some wheathearts from your supermarket (where the oats are kept) you can sprinkle them over your breakfast or in your dinner it keeps things moving for me

Thanks Girls, i ate some prunes, OMG they are flilthy but the pain is worse so ate them. I will get some today, is the Nulax stuff ok to take ? its like a bar of dried fruit

If you dont eat it excessively it will be ok to eat :) i know i found the wheathearts enough but there was another liquid form similiar to parachoc but starting with an A that is like a really mild laxative that i found worked great too, you can get that at your chemist, tastes nice too!

My sister has this problem in general she eats pears and drinks pear juice it works a treat...:wave:

Oh wicked thats great arent they the best :D my dd2 has a tiny amount on her cereal each morning and its been heaven! Not to mention when your pregnant LOL

Glad that they worked :)

I must try dem too cause im not in mega pain i still go 3times a day but 1 out of 3 times is an easy ride but then the next 2 times i struggle lol Thanks MrsJ for starting this thread & Punkbaby for yr suggestion :thumbsup:

EAT AN APPLE. THERE IS A CHEMICAL IN THE SKIN THAT STIMULATES THE BOWEL. Along with water and fibre it is tops.

Cant speak highly enough about eating apples when constipated. Keep eating them after you have had a motion becasue it will help things get back to normal.

Another good option is a glass or two of kiwifruit nectar ... works a treat!

This is what the NZ hospitals have in good supply in their ante-natal wards ...
