I had a PROM at 26 weeks (due to an infection) and was wondering if anyone else had this and gone on the full term with their next baby. Me and DF are thinking about having another child.

Thanks

Shell.

My daughter was born 11 weeks early. I am so ready for another baby but I am worried that I may have another premmie baby. The doctor said to me that the next baby they will keep an eye on me so hopefully it doesn't happen again.

The doctors had no explanation why my daughter was born early, everything was fine and healthy. I suppose it is a bit hard to tell if you will or not, to me you just have to wait and see what happens.

Hi all, i work in a neonatal intensive care unit and have an almost two-year old who wasn't premmie but small for dates. I've heard of women who go on to 35-36 weeks following PROM, the longest i've heard of is somemone continuing her pregnancy for 12 weeks following PROM. Just gotta be very careful about infection as both you and bub are susceptible once membranes have ruptured. Good luck hopefully things will run smoothly with your next pregnancies!!

I had 2 PROM pregnancys that were due to IC, first one ended at 17 weeks and the other (membranes rupturing at 18.5 )20 weeks. I did however go on and have a 37 week bundle with a cecledge placed in at 13 weeks.

* Edited to say that I had no infection in the pathology of my girls, I was in hospital with my head on the floor and my feet to the ceiling, pumping IV fluids to try and replenish but it was just nature and in the end I couldnt fight it anymore.

Hi i had PROM last Feb at 34 weeks. My waters broke on the monday night and i had ds on the tuesday afternoon. The doctors told me i could go on for a while if my labour didn't start, but it did.

I am worried that it might happen again next time, as they had no explanation for why my waters broke, i had no problems during my pregnancy until then.

Good Luck. :fingerscrossed:

Hi my first was 11 weeks prem, delivered by emer c-sect, my 2nd 3 weeks early by c-sect, and my third on time for booked in c-sect 1 1/2 weeks before due date, I have a bicornate uterus, which means my uterus is split in 2, one side is sealed so it was a miracle no.1 was conceived in there, it started to split open so this is why I had the emergency c-sect, but no.2 & no3 were in the other side so relatively normal although my babies could not turn due to the wall down the middle, this and the fact that I had the classic up and sown c-sect first time, every other pregnancy had to be delivered same way. All our girls are very healthy and are going to be very tall, I cant believe my little 1200gm baby is 9 1/2 now and already up to my chin, she will overtake me very soon:kiss:
