I dont know if anyone can help me but I have recently changed specialists and am starting to see Dr Illingsworth from IVF Australia i was just wondering if there was anyone on here who had used him before and how you found him. We were going through the public health system using Westmead hospital but we have had a few issues and decided to change. Any info would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Krystal :)

Hi Guys, my husband and I are also using westmead, we have had one procedure done and 2 transfers with no positive result. We also are not happy with Westmead and we had some friends use westmead also and were not happy and changed. We still have 3 embryos left so we are going to use westmead for a final transfer and then try somewhere or something else if no luck. We just found some of the nurses not very helpful or understanding of what you are going through. They cancel your cycles at the drop of a hat instead of trying to fix any issues and also I have visited the ivf clinic on the Gold Coast and they have a beautiful clinic with a lot of helpful videos, pamphlets, books and real peoples stories. A big thing that Westmead lacks.... My first procedure was cancelled because they weren't happy with the levels and I have only done 2 transfers last year due to them cancelling the other ones I had booked in for various reasons. Which is really disappointing when you so desperately want something. I'm sure not everybody feels this way about westmead though. Goodluck with everything.

Sorry I just realised that there was a reply in here I wasnt happy because they started me on treatment without any initial testing like getting DP to have a sperm test ect plus the nurses were sometimes just down right rude although in saying that some were lovley as well basically i just didnt feel comfortable with them.

We found SIVF fantastic, really professional and comforting. We did our second cycle with IVF Australia (because our Dr changed organisations) and it was a terrible experience.

I think it is really important to be happy and confident with your clinic.

After reading your threads ,I would just like to say , we are doing our first cycle through SIVF and they are great so far we have our embryo trnsfer on Monday . My gyno was going to send us to westmead because it is cheaper but then noticed his other clients were not successful at all so then we decided on SIVF in Orange and they are great. i have only heard negatives from westmead but not been there my self.

also does anyone know how to figure out your due date on IVF , when it is taken from?

Thanks
