Angelmist- The 'free dinner' was great. Too hot though. But I guess anywhere would have been just as bad with that many people in one room. I drank just enough to relax & have a good time & not to be sick the next day. In-laws looked after the kids at our house so I still needed to function for the early morning wake up call from Bub.
Shell87- Congrats on your exciting news. That's Great! Sorry I can't think of any family Dr's to recommend as all the one's I've been to all leave town once you get to know them.

jacethisa- 3 days into the school holidays & we have survived so far. Keeping the kids busy is going to drive me nuts. Yep this heat is terrible. We've had a few swims each day but by the time you get out & dress all the kids & yourself you need another swim to cool down. The only plans we have for xmas is xmas lunch with all the family at our house in the pool. Apparently it's been predicted that this xmas will be even hotter than usual. Is that possible? Kids are all up now gotta go.

what was the free dinner?

Well my little man is 1 his first birthday was on the 4th and he is really a toddler

We are off to Sydney on Thursday for Christmas and new years.

Whats everyone elses plans for Christmas?

We didn't go to the christmas party this year, none of Cam's workmates were going and we weren't impressed with the one 2 years ago, we would much prefer them the way they used to be, smalller ones, instead of half the smelter, we still had a night without the kids (Blaze and Bailey) on Saturday night, my SIL looked after Talon and we went and watched Australia in the Gold Class, loved that movie.

Have had a busy couple of days took Talon for 4 month check up and needles and Bailey 4 year old check up and needles yesterday, Bailey was 4 on the 6th, Bailey failed his hearing test so took him to Connect Hearing today (managed to get in cause of cancellation and his hearing is fine.

We are having Christmas Breakfast with Cameron's family at Canoe Point, then Cameron is unwrapping presents at my parents and coming home to sleep (nightshift), the boys and i will stay there for lunch and a swim. We have practically lived in the air con the last few weeks, i would love a pool but Cam said no.

Anyway for those going away, hope you have a great christmas and new year.

Simon doesn't want us to get a pool just yet either plus we need to renovate the house but he said maybe when the kids get older. We did just buy a paddling pool from Kmart.. Great size too.. nice round and just the right depth.. not the one with the inflatable ring on the top.. This was heaps cheaper and smaller but just right..

ETA: Simon works till Xmas morning too :( He will go home sleep then come up to Rocky sometime after lunch. I shouldn't complain.. This is the first year I won't see him on Xmas morning since he has been at the smelter. oh one year he worked day shift but finished at 3 or somethign like that..

Anyways I am thinking I might head to bed..

If I don't get back on..

Have a Great Christmas everyone!!

It was hot:( but like you said that many people in one area AND a storm brewing didn't help lol. I had a great night as you could probably tell by the state of me  It was the first time in AGES that DH and I had a night together without kids....hehe + MIL told us not to pick the kids up til late;) We ended up going out afterwards as well  and the pair of us haven't done that in years lol.

Shell87- Congrats! My sister went through Dr Paul and absolutely loved her. I hope your appointment went well:)

Is she excited about Tuesday? isaac is so so.. he looks so adorable in his uniform..

A big Happy Birthday to Courtney, Blaze is excited about starting prep, we went to west yesterday and met his teacher. Bit worried about how shy he is but he will come around, my mum has bribed him and said that if he doesn't cling to my leg and scream (like i am thinking he will cause thats what he does) that she will take him to cold rock one afternoon after she finishes work lol.

We don't have any plans for Australia Day or this weekend in General as Cameron is working all weekend Saturday, Sunday, Monday night, Tuesday night. Which is ok cause i think i am going to have a quiet weekend catching up on housework, Bailey wasn't feeling 100% today, think he has come down with a head cold or something, i have had one for last few days. Talon too is going through a wanting to be held all the time stage, everytime i put him down he cries.

Anyway better go to bed get some sleep. Hope all our little kiddies are looking forward to starting or returning to school on Tuesday.

Hows Courtney liking it so far? Isaac is ok.. He was the one screaming on day one :( but no tears yesterday so fingers crossed for no tears today..

Hi Girls,

Life is pretty hectic these days, with school pick ups, swimming lessons for blaze and bailey, playgroup, music and i want to get Blaze into soccer.

Blaze is absolutely loving prep, this week he has been coming home quite tired and grumpy though. Picked Blaze up early yesterday 1 oclock as he fell over doing PE and grazed his cheek, when i mentioned to him about going back to class he cried so i brought him home, he also knocked out a tooth yesterday but not sure if he did that in PE or while eating yesterday.

Took Blaze to optometrist yesterday, as his teacher noticed Blaze holds books and things really close to his face. It looks like Blaze may need glasses for close up work, reading, computer work etc but we are going to start with a trial pair for a week and see if they help him before we fork out money for glasses.

Anyway best keep moving the kids have been awake since 5.15 and we have playgroup this morning and Blaze's swimming lessons this afternoon so busy busy.

Have a good day girls.

Hi there,

A couple of girls suggested I introduce myself to you guys since I have just moved to Gladstone and am interested in meeting up with other people with young children.

I am 32 and have two boys: 19 months and 5 months. We have just moved from Mackay where we lived for 15 months. Before that we moved here from Canada and before that all over Australia but I am originally from Melbourne and spent most of my life there.

I have enrolled my son into a kindermusik class on a Wednesday, swimming at Terry's on Saturdays and am considering the kindergym classes at the Kubby House too - anyone take their kids along to this? Thoughts on it? Maybe I have even been in the same class as some of you??

Anyway, just looking to make friends and find some kids my sons can interact with.

I hope I am not jumping in on you guys. Maybe even some ideas of stuff to do with the kids would be great. I stumbled across the Kubby House and was really surprised at how cool it was. We had a lot of fun there.

Thanks for listening.

Hi and welcome mumonthemove.

I am Catherine, have 3 boys, 5, 4 and 6 months, would love to meet up for coffee and a chat one day.

Playgroup is also a good way to meet new people, we have been going to squeels on wheels playgroup on a Friday for almost 4 years now and love it.

My kids also swim at Terri's, Blaze swims Fridays, Bailey Tuesdays, and Talon my baby starts in the baby classes next term.

Awww it's gone quiet in here again! How is everyone?

Terrible2+1cutie
25-02-2009, 14:13
It has been very quiet.

We are good, preparing to go away in 2 weekends time, with only Talon, yay Cam and I can't wait. My cousin is getting married on Stradbroke Island, brought myself a new dress, new shoes, getting my hair done tomorrow.

Blaze is loving school, really impressed with Blaze's teacher so thats always a good thing, really impressed with how far he has come in only a month.

Talon is good too, almost sitting by himself, gets up on all 4's but can't quite work out how to move those arms and legs. Good news is i have talked Cam out of getting the snip for the time being at least for 12 months or more so we can talk about it more. Not saying we want any more kids but getting the snip is so permanent so want to be doubly sure first.

Anway how is everybody else ? We have to get together for another meet soon.

Better keep moving Talon just woke up.

HI Melinda, long time no chat, i am enjoying some downtime not having to do school drop offs and swimming lesson's for all 3 kids over the school holidays. My kids have been angels so far but its not even the end of week 1 yet lol, it helps when Bailey is still booked into daycare 2 days so gives me time to spend with Blaze.

How are things going with you Melinda and everybody else ?
