Does anyone elses bub get eczema when they are teething? My daughter is going to an allergy clinic as we have reached the end of the road with this nightmare :hair: my mum swears that it is related to her teeth?

My old gp as well as the specialist and nurse at the allergy clinic all tell me no...............but I know that Zack's eczema always flares up in times of stress, which when he was younger included teething. When I mention/ed the stress beinga trigger to anyone in the medical field they tell me no, they don't like it when something is caused by something they cant see iykwim!!
I'm not saying that is the only cause, but it most certainly contributes to his flare ups, which is especially obvious when we know he hasn't eaten anything new/different or been in contact with anything that could cause it, but we can link it to something emotional.
Hope I made sense adn taht helps a bit!
Teething doesn't cause the ezcema but certainly doesn't help. All the saliva dripping down the chin & cheeks can irritate and aggravates my DS's ezcema but I find using a barrier cream on his face helps alot.
I definitely agree with Jembelina that stress can be a factor. There is evidence that ezcema is linked to the immune system and IMO if you are under any physical or emptional stress your immune system will be affected and so stands to reason that your ezcema would be affected as well.

Yeah, i guess it depends on who you speak to really. My gp also says that teething and eczema have nothing to do with eachother, but i know that when she is unwell it is so much worse! Thanks for your help :)
