DD just did a monster poo explosion and it went all over the fleece liner plus up the sides of the nappy. :barf:
I dont have a little squirt so I scraped as much as I could off in the loo, but Im worried that if I just put it with the rest of the nappies and wash tomorrow it might stain.
So is it okay to soak it in some hot water and powder for a little bit or can it ruin it?

Hot water will set the stain.
If things are really bad just hold the nappy really tight and flush the toilet. Most of the solids will come off and will give it a bit of a rinse as well.
I always wash in cold too. any remaining stains the sunshine takes care of.
(most of DS poos should be classified as toxic waste, especially since he's started teething again, but we haven't got any nappies too stained to use.)

Ewww yucky!!
Laura you might have to get down and dirty with the nappy if you are worried about it staining the rest of the nappies, I don't see that happening though.
In the laundry trough or if you don't have one use the bathroom sink, run the hot or lukewarm water, put the nappy under the tap and hold the nappy out so that you have an end in each hand, rub the ends together so that you agitate it to get most of the poo off. After that rinse in cold water and squeeze as much water out of the nappy.
If you soak it in water and powder it'll only cause build up.
Tip: You may want to wear gloves

Thanks ladies....all done!
If i did soak the nappy though, would it make it less absorbant or anything?
Everywhere i look it says only to dry pail.

Soaking is a big NO-NO for MCN, mainly because it contributes highly to the deterioration of the elastic and/or Pul.
You'll have no problem with stains if you're washing tomorrow. If you weren't going to wash for a couple of days then you might have a problem. I've left pooey nappies for 2 days at most, dry pailing, and only one was left with a slight stain. After a few more washes and line drying the stain was gone.
Oh, and I don't have a Little Squirt either. All I've ever done is sleuce them in the toilet. It's worked fine for the past 2 years

I just get my hands in there and rinse it off like Lauren said!! I just use warm water in the laundry tub and rub the excess off. The deep stuff comes out in the wash and the stains bleach out in the sun.
No stains here yet, and I have a BF bub with bright orange poos lol!!
I dont have a little squirt either, havent needed it so far!
