Well, this Saturday my little man is moving into his own room:crying: I really don't want him to, but it looks like it has to be.

For the last month DS has been waking through the night at random times, one night maybe 10pm, then 3am, the next night waking at 1 and then every hour or so, for example. He's never really hungry when he wakes but is happy to have a snack if i offer.:) Its been rather overwhelming for both dh and myself, and we tried everything we could to find the source of the problem. We started solids, tried leaving the aircon on, warmer pjs, cooler pjs, later bed time, earlier bedtime, you name it!
Well, last week dh had a lot of work on and he decided to sleep in the spare room for a couple of nights. First night he slept in the spare room, ds slept through. Second night, same thing. Thanks goodness, we thought, ds is going back to normal. So my hubby came back to sleep in the main bedroom. First night back, ds started waking again. (I think you've probably guessed it by now!) Over the last week and a half we've experimented and the result is the same - when dh sleeps in the bedroom, ds wakes all the time. One of them has to go..... it was a surprisingly hard decision :D

We think it must be that hubby is making a noise like a cough or a sneeze that is scaring Hudson, not just disturbing him, because usually he's able to resettle himself.

I'd really hoped to have him sleep in our room for another six months:(

What ages have others moved their kids to their own room? Is six months too young do you think???

Hi there I've just moved my little girl into her room she's 1 I don't think it really matters as long as everyone is happy. Our son was in our room on and off until he was three as we were renovating at the time his six now and I still miss him.

Hi. I feel a bit mean now. My dd has slept in the nursery from the day we got home from hospital. Shes nearly 6months now. We did um and ah about putting her in with us but decided that if she sleeps in her own room from day 1 there will never be a problem. I do sympathise with you, as I bet it would be a hard thing to do now. best of luck, Im sure you'll all be fine

I'm sure he'll be fine... not so sure about me!! :D Although perhaps it will create more opportunities to start working on a little brother or sister for him!

Hi, my daughter was in our room for the first four-five months and we had a hard time getting her to sleep in her own room and in her cot.
So when I had my son he went straight into his cot in his own room and we have had no trouble at all.
I hope all goes well with the move to bubs own room.

Cheers, PMS

DD was in her own room right from the start. One of the reasons being that DP is a room rattler snorer and I figured that it would be nice for 2 out of 3 of us to sleep.

It is probably the noises your husband is making in his sleep. They come out with some very strange sounds!!!

She's getting WAY too reliant on having me there to offer a bit of snack boobie milk. In fact, she's pretty much sleeping in our bed everynight all night lately. Ive been waking up so stiff and sore from having to lay right on the edge of the bed all night.

Her daytime naps have been almost non-existent too lately, but thats another story....dont wanna steal your thread lol. Im hoping that by combining good practices at night with good practices through the day we'll have an easy baby again. This past month has been difficult to say the least.

Oh yes, I know all about the boobie snack... Hudson has taken to sleeping in our bed too most nights, and I'm often woken by him trying to open the clip on my maternity bra! His daytime naps are also non existent atm, it's all been a bit of a shock because he was such an easy, very sleepy baby from day one! Let me know how you go with your move, we're doing ours on Saturday so I can get DH to move the cot (it's very heavy and has no wheels)

Good luck guys!
I moved Coop into his own room when he was 4 months old-he went from bassinet to cot then. All went pretty well for us with that age and we will do the same (all going well) with baby number 2.

Strangely enough we had the EXACT same result! First night a couple of grizzles, second night a feed at 3:30, and then last night right through!!

It's wonderful not to have to tip toe into bed... plus I'd forgotten how big our bedroom actually is!!

Fingers crossed that it lasts!:fingerscrossed:
