Hi Andie,
How are you?
I'd just like to ask in regards to credit checks, do they check things like bills and unpaided fines? We don't always pay our bills on time (but they're always paid).
Also, with the online home loan caculators, are they a rought guide to what we could potentially borrow or are they way off the mark?
Thanks, Cassie

Hi Cassie
With Credit Checks, if a bill is unpaid and left unpaid they can decide whether or not they will place this on the credit report. Banks are normally ok with general utilities such as Telco/Mobile if a mark has been placed on the credit report as long as it is paid and you have receipt for payment. If however it is something like a credit card (depending on amount) personal loan or home loan then it can and will be a problem depending on size and situation etc.
With the online calculators they are only a rough guide, I am happy to put your figures through my panel to check if you want to PM me.
Cheers Andrea

If they were that far back then they should not be on the credit report now, hence cleared. If they were bought forward and are showing on the credit report then they could be a prob.
If you are worried about your credit report you can order a free one through Veda Advantage, it will take a little while to be posted to you (approx 10days). Or you can purchase one via email that is almost instantaneous for approx $27.
