I got one of those edible things that you sit on top, its like that paper thin stuff, worked a treat :) dora would be so easy to do though just a round cake and then print off a pic of her face and cut it to size and decorate thats my next mission for dds bday

My DD2 is a HUGE fan of Dora. I used the stick on edible dora picture. I just bought it from Woolworths. I know its edible but it felt gross to eat. I would try something else next time.
I did a search on Dora cakes and came up with some beauties!!
Go Dora and good luck with the cake making!!:smiliedance:

You can buy Dora cake tins from Spotlight or ebay:thumbsup: http://search.ebay.com.au/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=dora+cake+tin&category0=
I do cakes for friends and i did a dora cake for a neighbours neice square cake and i printed off a picture of dora and then laminated it and adheared with icing to the top of the cake she loved it. This is practical in summer as butter frosting and gell icings don't like the heat or the humidity. i can email you a pic of the cake if you like oh and i am doing a full dora cake in 2 weeks as you can hire dora tins from any cake decorating shop for about $6.

I made a Dora cake for my daughter's friend's brithday- I just found a picture on line of Dora, a simple one. And made a few copies of it. Then I cut the Dora picture into segments. Her Hair, Her head, Her arms, Her body etc etc, you get the idea.
Then I placed each segment onto the plain slab cake I had baked {or you can buy indecorated slab cakes from Woolies} and used white icing to make an outline of each of the pieces of dora. The I took the paper off and using coloured icing coloured in the picture. Outline all the colours with black icing and you are done!
It sound complicated but only took me about 1hour to decorate. And it was fun!

This is what I'm planning to do for my DD 2nd birthday in March. I've already bought the figures (while I could find them, thought it best to get them), when the Target toy sale came on. It was a 3 pack with Dora, Boots & Swiper. It was about $8 on sale I think.
