Hi there,
I am due in 5 days and had two acupuncture sessions so far - I really hoped they would put me into labour, but nothing happened. I had really strong contractions after the first session, but they stopped again and did not dilate my cervix a little bit. Yesterday I had an other session and no effect at all apart from a few contractions. But the positive thing is that it really relaxes you and gives you a lot of energy, I really felt great afterwards.
Acupuncture worked for a few friends of mine AFTER their due date. I have done some google research last night and it always says there is a success rate of around 80% to go into labour with acupuncture, if you are on or past your due date.
I wish you all the best and hope it will work for you:fingerscrossed:

I would personally only try it if I was well and truly over my EDD, as a last resort before medical induction.
I have a girlfriend who had accupuncture to induce labour the day after her EDD, and it worked, but she had a long and complicated 'failure to progress' labour... which is also typical of a medically induced labour.
She now firmly believes that this happened because her baby was not ready to be born, and wishes she had have waited.
I would give it a try under the thread of medical induction, but otherwise I would wait and let bub decide when they are ready to be born :)

Good advice from ShadyCharacter there. When are you due? Is there any reason you feel the need to give bubs a nudge? Your baby knows when he/she is ready to be born, don't worry, you won't be pregnant forever :)

Aah, I can see you are a few days past your EDD, sorry!
