Hi I am looking at donating eggs and would love some advice from someone who has been through it themselves.Do you have contact or not/why? Just not sure which way I should do it. Your experience? I have talked it over with DH and he agrees with it. I feel that I have been blessed with 3 healthy happy children and everyone should have that chance.

Hi,

Firstly let me say what an amazingly wonderful thing to do. I have not been though the egg donor process, luckily though I have been blessed to find an embryo donor on this site. The gift of eggs is an amazing one, that you are helping a couple have their dreams come to life, that is truelly special. I just wanted to say thankyou on behalf of us girls who need help in the egg area! People like yourself are wonderful angels.

Hi Amumslove,

Ditto to everything that Rach has said.

I too am a recipient. The best way for you to find out some information is to read thru the stickies and posts right here on Bubhub. The link in my signature will take you to the donor cycle and the experience of myself and our donor. It is a very personal account of our journey from the start.

If you contact a local clinic they will send you out an information pack explaining the procedure.

As to whether you choose to do a known donation or anonymous donation - it is a very personal choice. Our donor decided that she wanted a known donation. She has four of her own children and felt more comfortable with knowing who she donated to and the details of any children - just in case her children and any resultant donor children were to meet. IYKWIM.

There are several donrs that frequent bubhub that I am sure will be more than happy to answer your questions.

I have only just come across this - must have been living in a cave! Sorry!

Do you have contact or not/why?

Sure do! In fact, I was just on the phone 15mins ago with my IM, having a good old gassbag and giggle! IMO, I have been very fortunate to find someone to donate to who was like me, and who I could become very firm (read - best) friends with. We are very similar in our senses of humour, interests and lots of other stuff. She's the type of person I would choose to be friends with outside of egg donation.

Good luck - feel free to ask any questions you might have, and when you are ready let me know and I'll put you in touch with a great forum for donors and recipients.

Hi:wave: It's nice to hear some positive experiences with known donor:) . We have talked on the phone and both feel comfortable with known donor and seem to get along. How far along in the journey are you?

I think I know which site you are talking about (AED?) I joined that forum earlier this week.
