When is a good time?

Scarlett has been introduced to solids for about 2/3 weeks now, at almost 5 and a half months.

I think we started baby yogurt around 8 months? DS started solids at 6 months but he wasn't overly interested for a while as he was still breastfeeding ALOT at that stage...so yeah it would've been about 8 months before we started yogurt I think.

Thats so weird, I was at the supermarket and was talking to DF about how maybe we should introduce yoghurt to our dd.

She's 8 mths old now and hasnt had any yet but I will be buying some tomorrow to try it out.

Never really thought about introducing it earlier.

DS is 1yr and I see no need to introduce any dairy. I mean, for one, he's still getting good dairy from me ;) But also - this is from a foreign source, <a cow!!> not the way nature intended.

I'd delay as long as possible.

DD started them at 6 months. Yogurts and cheese are fine from 6 months+. Its not replacing their milk, food is still just tasting and exploring at this age and perfectly fine from my understanding.

I agree. I don't give it to him for the dairy aspect, he has it because he likes it :D

Unless your baby has a sensitivity to cow's milk there is nothing to be gained by holding off dairy indefinitely. And just in my experience, there does come a point where holding off too long backfires - because by the time you want them to eat it, they won't. It's a fine line.

I would wait until at least 10 months.

My DS is almost 9 mths old and he started on baby yogurt a few months ago and was fine, infact it's one of his favourite foods. I buy the baby yoplait ones

Jacksons almost 6 months and has been on solids for about 6 weeks - he started yogurt this morning and loved it. I didnt bother buying any of the baby ones, i just bought the natural set full fat yogurt (i mixed it with a puree of apricot and pineapple i made).

i say go for it!
