hi :wave:not sure if i am allowed to post in this section:) so feel free to kick me out but i figured you guys would be the best to ask. my dd was born full term 39 weeks but weighed 2.5kg and has since then had a real poor weight gain. about 1 month ago she was in hospi on feeding tube for 4 days and seems to now be gaining weight steadily at about 100g a week. the pead says because she is so small developmental wise she will be like a premmie baby. gabi is now 6 months old and still not rolling, fairly floppy and puts no weight on her legs just wondering if this is normal? when should she be doing things. thanks heaps for any replies

DD2 was 4lb7 born and she was full term. The first 12 months she was significantly behind developmentally wise i had to feed her every 2 hours till she was 3 months old and she had a very slow weight gain too. She was very petite i guess, thats one way of putting it and she looked almost anorexic during the first few weeks.
When she got to about 16 months she caught up with everything that its "so called" classed as normal for children her age now you wouldnt know she was so tiny and so behind.
If bubs is gaining weight and seems to be doing everything normally even if she is behind i wouldnt overly stress too much. DD was rolling around 7 months back to front, but she did do it one way around 5 months. She didnt crawl till later either :)
I knew that dd was ok in general if that makes sense, she seemed all there, she was alert and quiet a happy content baby so i wasnt too concerned :)
I am sure she will start reaching those mile stones soon give her a little longer to get there though :)

DD was 2.6kg born at 35 weeks, she grew quickly though and was always on track devleopmentally, in saying that she was not rolling at 6months, at 6 months 2 days she started rolling everywhere and did not look back.
DS however was 1.2kg at birth so quite a difference, his devleopment was significantly delayed for the first few years, he is now 5 next month and has caught up with everything but is still tiny for his age!

thanks heaps for your replies. i'm not to concerned as our pead is not and i totally put my trust in him. but just would for myself like to have a guide as to premmie milestone. but when i think about it she needs to get a bit stronger so she has the strength to do these things up to 4 weeks ago she was basically anorexic can't expect to much. thanks
