Bit of background - Back in July I became a consultant for a party plan for designer inspired handbags (oh, and sunglasses too). The bags appealed more to me than any other products as I'm a handbag addict myself and so are most of my friends.

It's been doing ok and I've had parties for my friends and family, workmates, and for some businesses around my work that I've approached.

BUT - I really would like to have more activity but I'm stuck on ideas as to how else to get the word out. There isn't any problem with the products. But because the company is fairly new, not many people have heard of it and the issue is advertising. The whole premise is to keep mums who can't get out as often to shop and keep up with fashion trends as we have bubs that can get underfoot.

I need your help and I was wondering if any of you had suggestions on how I can let more people know about it?

Any suggestions are welcome and would be greatly appreciated.

Thanking you all in advance :hugs:

Letter drop around your neighbourhood? Ask if you can advertise in the school newsletter, if a percentage of earnings goes to the school, maybe? It might be worth it to get you off the ground and build up contacts.

Don't forget that although your target customers are women, the men in their lives are starting to look at Christmas presents.... I read somewhere today about Men Only parties where they can shop for their wives/partners with the consultant.
Think also about wishlists and gift registries...
Um what about leaving catalogues or flyers in waiting rooms?

I am thinking of trying this myself in perth: Party swap with another party planner in your area. She/he holds one for you and you hold one for her. Just make sure you are different planners with different products. The hard part is finding a willing swapper.

Thanks ladies,

I'm loving these suggestions. I've been concentrating around Sydney CBD where I work but I've been wanting to get clients around where I live but have been stumped for ideas apart from stuffing mailboxes with catalogues (which I'm loath to do as these are rarely successful as we get a lot of junk mail around the area)

Keep 'em coming!!

finding some playgroups in the local area and ask the co-ordinator if they would be interested in having someone come to their playgroup/ mothers group?

the anz bank actually has a local community notice board where you can advertise your business for free where you post a business card or flyer for the general public...

It also appeals ot all age groups and types of people... It's good exposure due to how busy banks get these days...
