Baulkham Hills Private

Hi all,

Just wondering if any1 had any feedback or info on Hills Private at Baulkham Hills, NSW. Thats where I am hoping to be going but Im hearing few things like u cant get your private room if too many patients.

I delivered my last baby at Hills but 11 years ago.. so my info might be out of date.

I had to share a room for the first 4 days.. (i had a c-section).. basically just waited in line for the first available single room.

I did get one at 5 days.. but my baby had complications and was transferred on day 6 to Westmead Childrens. my single room experience was short lived.

i think the single rooms are allocated depending on availability, much the same as all hospitals although women with complications and any probs.. (some unfortunately that lose their babies) etc.. get 1st option.

Honesly the sharing in a 2 bedder was not too bad, unlike my experience at Westmead before that sharing with 3 others....

I had my baby there April last year. I had a difficult delivery and the midwives were fantastic.

At the time all the single rooms were taken so I had to have a twin room but had it to myself so it wasn't so bad and after two nights I got moved to a single room which was great. If a single room isn't available right away when it is your turn and a single room is available you get moved straight in which is fair.

I know in busier periods it will be harder to get a single room and when I was leaving hospital it was the week before Easter and the place was really busy so it can depend on how busy they are as well.

One positive I noticed when I was in the twin room was that if you buzzed for assistance it came a lot faster, I don't know the reason for this or if it was just my experience.
