Isaac's Mummy
10-10-2007, 20:22
 I'm still around.

Have just been jumping on quickly these days - have been feeling a little :barf: of late. Fun fun!

Isaac has cut three teeth in the last week and he has two more just sitting there, waiting to come through:eek: I can't wait though, hopefully once they're trough he will sleep through the night.

He WILL sleep through the night, right?! Please tell me he will. I guess it's not that big a deal, in the scheme of things, but I'm just so, so, so tired. And I know that the bigger I get, the more tired I'm going to get too, so I'm just feeling like there's no light at the end of the tunnel at the moment.

Mia, I hope that Ripley continues to improve and that your DH recovers super quickly too. Your holiday sounds fabulous, so I hope you're all able to enjoy it.

Mez, hope Jack has a better night tonight then he did last night. How was he today? Did he sleep a lot to catch up on all that sleep that he missed?

Hi clairesmum! Welcome! It's nice to be able to chat to others who are going through the same things you are with your bub! It's great to know you're not the only one pulling your hair out at times:D

Welcome ~*clairesmum*~, you are very welcome to join us...I am located near newy, and my little :devil6: is being a bit of a toad tonight...he woke at 9.15pm wet through, so after changing everything, we have been trying to get him back to sleep for the last 1.5hrs...not fun...he is now in his cot grizzling but not howling iykwim...

Bec ~ :hugs: for the teething and I hope your :barf: improves soon...gotta hate m/s...I know I did., and yes I do believe they will sleep through the night...one day...I need that hope...grant me patience some days...especially this evening...he only slept for 1hr today so no catching up, bugga!

oh well, back to my little grizzly pot...not sure what to do with him at the moment, he's tired, but not sleepy...gotta be something else going on inside his little head.. just wish i knew what it was...

I so hear you on the cr@ppy nights. Noah doesnt wake up happy like Jack though Mez, he wakes up all grumpy because he is so tired. You think they would realise by now that the more quality sleep they get the more happy they are (as well as us).

Welcome clairesmum:wave: I live on the Central Coast and this is bub number 3 for me.

Welcome back Danii

POO! to all our insomniacs. Maybe we should arrange a meet up for them. They can all have a little party together :devil6:

Mia, bit of a worry about Rip. When I think of 12mnths jabs I think of Inflammitory Bowel Disease but I'm not really sure what that is....maybe our resident nurses Mel or Jess could shed some light :D

I had a job interview yesterday. :fingerscrossed: it all falls into place or :fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed: we win lotto LOL

Okay back to James - YEE YEE YEE YEEEE YEEEEEEE MUMUMUM *whinge, whinge cry, cry* AAAAAARRRRGHHHH ! *ripping hair out of head*

Hi all:wave:
Dani way to go on Damiens steps. Its just as exciting 2nd time around isnt it!!! Its kind of scary too as you know how much more mischief they can get into...lol

Stalker...oops I mean Mez:laughing: Im sure your day would of been sooo much better if some gad-a-bout was home. You know how fantastic my company is..pmsl:laughing: Your day tomorrow sounds about as exciting as mine.

Natalie Im not too keen on the little insomniacs get together. There would be way too much Yeee Yeeee Mummmmm Mummmmm for my liking.

Mia How is the ever adorable Ripley going? I hope he is feeling much better and is eating his meals again.

Cass How are you going adjusting to being a mum to 2 little ones. How is Afrika going now?

Jess How is your community work going? I bet your loving it:yes:

A big hello to everyone I havent done personals too.

Well we have had a full on couple of weeks with a cranky non-sleeping baby. Today I discovered 2 nice big molars have popped through up the top of Noahs mouth. Nothing else to report that is exciting.

Isaac's Mummy
11-10-2007, 18:59
 Poor old Jack - the toilet isn't the best of places to lock yourself into:laughing:

Hope your night is a better one tonight Mez. Isaac cut his fourth tooth today - only one to go now, and has been a little bit worse for wear. Not expecting a great night here, but he could surprise us!!

I know it's terrible, but I'm so glad mine isn't the only baby sleeping all night. :hugs: for all of us mummies, we certainly need them!!

Hope Damien sleeps in for you tomorrow Dani, after having to work tonight. :yelclap: on all of the steps! Isaac is still too chicken to do anything by himself! Doesn't bother me, he's easier to chase when he's on all fours!

Nat :fingerscrossed: the job all falls into place for you. I apologise now, as we're winning the poweball jackpot tonight, so that won't work out for you! Though, we don't need $30 million, so could share! What sort of job is it?

It's our washing day tomorrow as well - what exciting lives we lead!

LMAO Mez imagine all the mums falling off their chairs reading how releived you are for having to get up only 3 times last night

Yep, same industry cass just selling paint and helping people use it rather than suffer the toxic fumes myself LOL. How cute about Logan :-) So did you write up a birth story for Afrika yet? I like that name now btw, you could call her Frik for short. Cute don't you think :-)

Mel we wouldn't care about YEE YEE MUMUMUM as .. well, I was planning to say lump the little cherubs together and flee! How does Alice Springs sound :-D

6 bottles is heaps eh Danii ? Do you still have to do the rigmarole of sterilising everything all the time? That would be a pain in the @rse, eh? I've been giving James rice milk lately.

Isaac's Mummy did we win then LOL. I'm going for a sales rep/tech support position. I'm a spray painter by trade *blech, puke * I HATE fumes and dust these days.

Hoping Rip's alright now?? Just excited about your trip away :-P

Is Gail on holiday's again

Anna how is your pregnancy going? Been a while since you have been on here... will send you a text in a couple of days if you don't pop in.

Im here  Just lurking, dont have alot to say lately that isnt a 4 letter word or classed as whinging lol Thanks for thinking of us!

Jett is great! Sleeping through every night now (thankgod because Im struggling to exist) and survived his 12mth needles today (I think some choccy cake helped ease the pain  ). Atm he is throwing his soccer ball around the loungeroom, I can smell something foul in his nappy but Im too scared to look until he is absolutely finished pooping :o

As for me Im fat, swollen and cant wait for the next 12wks to fly by. Im having to take phenergan of a night time because Im itching like crazy (it knocks me out like there's no tomorrow so thankgod Jett is sleeping through or he'd be screaming for hours before Id become concious again). The OB thinks I have obstetric cholestasis or something like that, basically the liver doesnt filter out bile salts properly and it causes a rash and can lead to premature delivery. They generally deliver you by 37wks if you have it so it wont make much difference to me its just really uncomfortable. I also had my GD test yesterday and nearly passed out after the 2hrs was up. Im glad it was the last time I'll ever have to do it ever again :yelclap: Bub is growing fabulously and I managed to stack on 5kgs in 3 weeks so now sitting pretty at 64kgs and hopefully will stay there til B-day. The less I have to lose afterward the better. The OB can get off my back about not having gained anything too.

My days are spent cleaning and thinking about sorting out the spare room. DH is home this weekend and we have nothing on for a change so it *should* get done and then I can unpack all the clothes I washed and set everything up. I feel very unorganised. 11 weeks and 6 days to go!

I hope everyone else is doing well! I promise to make a better effort to keep up with the thread!

:hugs:

I itch all the time but it gets 100x worse when Im hot so showering and sleeping aggravate it. I was so looking forward to the hot weather until this all started, now on top of being hot and swollen I'll be itching as well.
Yep the name is set in stone. I made the executive decision as Ry cant make a decision to save his life. He likes it though and it just feels right to refer to him as 'Ripley'.
We've decided I'll stay til after Rips is born, then I'll probably move to Sydney by March before winter sets in down here as I dont fancy moving in below freezing weather with a 6mth old and a 21mth old who is prone to ear infections and colds. As for Ry helping well he tries, but not his hardest  He's starting to realise that Im exhausted and struggling physically esp with the itching and swelling so he's more open to my "suggesting" he does things around the house.
Im just as slack about keeping up with my DD thread too lol As for BJ we havent heard from here in awhile either. Hope she's ok.

Any new pics of Afrika and Logan???

I wish...I really have a problem..I actually went shopping for a gift for my friend...(I did actually get her a lovely bag) but then decided I needed another...which of course isn't technically true...

but the thing is, now I have the new bag, my wallet doesn't look right, so I have to find something that suits...oh the drama drama drama of my day...

Cass - thats great to hear about Afrika :)

 Mez, hope you found yourself a gorgeous new wallet to go with your new handbag!!

Cass, I can't believe Afrika is four weeks old already:eek: That time has just flown on by.

Dani, does Damien drink six bottles of cow's milk a day??!!! Oh my goodness!!! Though, I guess milk is still cheaper than formula, isn't it! That's so much milk. More than I drink in a day. I really should drink some more, I think!

We had a pretty bad day yesterday. Isaac has cut four teeth in the last ten or so days, he still has one more coming through, and I guess it's the teeth, cause I haven't fed him anything different the last couple of days, but it's given him the worst nappy rash ever  He's only had a rash once, and it cleared up overnight, but this is terrible. His little butt is so red, and raw, and yesterday as soon as he did a poo he would start screaming and crying and screaming and crying (which was good, we knew to change him straight away), and then would shake and scream when we wiped his poor little bottom:crying: I'm guessing it was so acidic it stung him straight away. Poor little guy. I felt so bad for him. He didn't have the best of nights last night, obviously, but he seems okay today. And his rash has cleared up a bit, so hopefully lots of cream and crawling around naked will fix him up:D

Yay for Damien's first steps !!!

Jess How is your community work going? I bet your loving it

It's all going really good thanks Mel! I have been working a fair bit lately and you guessed right... loving it! I was working over the weekend (split shifts) at the respite care cottage and was called home toward the end of my last shift as Nathan was very ill (fevers and vomiting).... well when I arrived home I found this ---> click on emotion  (http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n153/Jessath/DSCF2671.jpg) Aww

I am child free today as I start my shift at 3.30pm... Aaah beautiful peace!

Hehehe the panda boyz - very cute!

Well, Afrika is improving every night now Feeds at 8pm, 1am & 4am Lets hope things stay this way... now I just have to teach her that she has to drink the bottle in half an hour or less so that I can actually get some time for sleep in between feeds!

Thats great to hear Afrika is settling into a regular feeding pattern now Cass - makes things so much easier. Hope she keeps it up for you!

As for me Im fat, swollen and cant wait for the next 12wks to fly by. Im having to take phenergan of a night time because Im itching like crazy

I can't believe a few of us have already had another or have another due very soon! Hope you have some relief from your itching :hair:

Hi Everyone

Long time - what a time!

Just quickly - the christening went wonderfully and Alex behaved very well - just crying when the water went on. My cousin and brother had a great time and both got on very well with the kids and it waws lovely to see them both and catch up with them.

Alex isn't walking yet, I think it's still a month or so away. He's the same age as Jess was when she started but he's only just starting to let go of furniture for a millisecond at a time. Oh, though on Saturday in the evening DH goes "I've got something to tell you..." He'd been home with the kids in the morning when I'd had my hair done, popped upstairs for a minute and left the stair gate open, was coming down stairs and heard a banging in the kids' bathroom - Alex had climbed up 15 stairs and was playing in there  He's also figured out how to drink his bottle whilst sitting up which is a source of great amusement and spitting out of excess water!

Jess is good and just surprised me by eating the ham and jam sandwich she asked for!! Alex was off his food with an ear infection but seems to be back to normal today.

I'm very happy with myself for completing 2 assignments yesterday when both of them were at daycare.

Also I've come into a little money from my grandparent's will so have booked in for saxophone lessons from next term - managed to get the 7pm slot so DH will be home to look after the kids. If I get on with it (did it years ago) then I'll use the money to buy the sax - only $200 on ebay - and pay for the lessons.

Seem to be very busy at the moment so I don't get on here often. I"m organising the Oct Brisbane Bubhub dinner tho, so put your name down on that thread if you want to come.

My friend whose baby is ill, still doesn't know what it is. They're in hospital running tests and, as they're in the UK, it's hard to be in contact at this time, but luckily they're friends of my sister's too so she can keep me updated.

Unfortunately I spoke to my mum last night and her older sister isn't very well. She's 83 and has secondary bone cancer - a very independent woman who now is spending most days in bed, and of course my uncle is 88 and caring for her so it's all a bit :crying: After my brother leaving last week and this, I seem to be having a beer or two for the last few evenings

Anyway, I hope everyone is well. I try to skim through all the posts but just seem to be on the go at the moment.

Hi to Cass, Mel, Mez, Nats, Anna, Mia, Dani and everyone else

i hope everyones bubs are sleeping a lil bit better n if they r just sartig to walk good luck lol they start to get into everyhing

talk to u soon mums

Congrats on the walking…my little man runs now and it really is tiring some days just trying to catch him…but too cute at the same time…

Wow for the sleeping…want to send some of it my way>>>hahahaha

Finally hes walking everywhere
Yes he does drink 6 bottles a day lol sometimes more Loves his food too. we just had hamburgers for tea he ate half of one!

:yelclap: for the walking everywhere...

Logan just started walking short distances yesteday so hopefully soon he will be off like a rocket!

Don't wish it too soon, once their off it's extremely tiring catching the little monkeys...and then they hate sitting or being picked up once they have that independance...

So are you Cass, Cassie? or Cassandra or Mrs Green stirring.....

hahaha, you crack me up Nat...goodness, I think I am in trouble if someone calls me by my full name...I rarely get it and I really like the nicknames that my friends and family give me, I feel it means they are familiar with me enough to have that intimate choice...

She's 83 and has secondary bone cancer - a very independent woman who now is spending most days in bed, and of course my uncle is 88 and caring for her so it's all a bit After my brother leaving last week and this, I seem to be having a beer or two for the last few evenings

Anyway, I hope everyone is well. I try to skim through all the posts but just seem to be on the go at the moment.

Hi to Cass, Mel, Mez, Nats, Anna, Mia, Dani and everyone else

:hugs: 's to your friend...

hahaah for alex's adventures upstairs...and I hope you enjoy your lessons...sounds like fun..

Hello lovely September Mummies:wave:
Im sorry I have been so slack in here of late. Ive been getting kept very busy with a cheeky and mischievous 1yo who has taken to climbing on anything and everything and generally just driving me :hair: .
I hope all of you and your bubbas have been behaving and are all keeping well.
I just remembered yesterday that I have to take Noah to get his 1yo vaccinations. There is a clinic at my local health centre on Friday so I guess I had better be brave and take him.
Noah now has 2 molars through up the top and some seriously huge bulging gums down the bottom ready for a couple more molars.
The cheeky little :devil6: has taken to standing his ground against Callan now. Just tonight Callan was annoying him so Noah bit him big time on his back and broke the skin...whoops!!!
Ok better go its turned into a big post about my boy (who can blame me though seems he is just so adorable...lol)

Hi Everyone

Hope all is well with you guys. :smiliedance: to all those walking.

Alex showed me how fast he was up the stairs again today - reaaly having to keep an eye out now. He's got another chest infection. He doesn't seem to go a week without something recently - 2 weeks ago an ear infection, 2 weeks before that conjunctivitis and another chest infection before that. Has anyone else had a sort of continous thing going on like this?

Just hopping on here before bed. Had a disastrous couple of nights with Alex up coughing most of the night. He seems to be able to sleep and cough but I can't sleep if he's coughing. Last night I stayed up til 11pm as he was coughing, then went to sleep then was up for a nappy, bottle and medicine stop and then Jess was crying as her teddy had fallen out of bed. Managed a nap today and have just had a massage so :fingerscrossed: for a good sleep tonight.

KS - sounds like a great night for you. Hope he sleeps thru soon.

Mel - sounds like there's never a dull moment at your house!

:babydust2: to everyone for a good night's sleep

Hi Gail!
We had continuous cycles going on here for a bit! Astmah with a cold, chest infection, both ears infected got better for a week then astmah again(this one resulted in hospital) then another chest infection with that, got better for another week then we got both ears infected again and a burst ear drum! Thankfully its been 2 weeks since that last one and he hasnt got anything yet :fingerscrossed:

Wow all these sick bubbas and toddlers.
Danni thats the pits with Damien having asthma. Hope he outgrows it. I had it as a kid and was lucky enough to outgrow it by the time puberty hit.
Gail Im envious of your massage. That would be sooo nice and relaxing.
Hi Mez how are you and cheeky Jack going?
Im sorry to those I havent done personals for but know that I am thinking of you all.
I have to run and finish getting ready as Noah is off to get his vaccinations today and Im hopefully getting this shagpile on top of my head cut as well as taking Emily to the doctors this afternoon. The poor girl has had a chest infection, sinus infection and sore ears for weeks now and has already had 2 courses of antibiotics with no real improvement.
Have a great day all.

Gee everyone must be soooo busy these days as this thread seems to have become so quiet.
I took my poor bubba for hi needles today and have to say it was not a very good experience (not that it ever is). He was ok with the 1st and 2nd one in his right arm then came time for the last one in his right arm. I was holding (i.e. pinning him to me) him down and the nurse was holding his arm but for some reason loosened her grip and my muscle man got his arm free and was swinging it around with the syringe hanging out. The only bonus of it not falling out was that she didnt have to jab him a 4th time. The poor little thing was not a happy camper  :crying:

Mel ~ :hugs: to Em feeling better soon...I hope Noah's injections went ok today too.. (sorry just read your post...I wrote this much earlier then my little man had a meltdown...) Hope your little muscle man is feeling much calmer now...poor bubba, nasty needles/nurses...:hugs: big hugs from Aunty Mez...

Well, I have had one of those days...we went shopping and Jack decided to stay awake all day...apart from the 2 x 10min powernaps...mmmm

lots of tears and tanti's due to over tired bub...then he chucked another tonight as he wanted to feed himself again...but this time the highchair and he wore more of it then was eaten...

Happy Little Grub (http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r241/Kangaskippy/IMGP3581.jpg)
Trying to eat with hands (http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r241/Kangaskippy/IMGP3582.jpg)

I think my patience seems to be thin this evening so DH is cleaning him up and off for a bath to give mummy some down time before his bed time ritual.. oh well, you get that sometimes...

*****************
Ok, sorry about that, I wrote this at 6.30pm whilst the boys were cleaning up in the bathroom...Then Jack had a bit of a meltdown because he didn't want to go to bed...so up he got again and played with DH while I raced off to pick up pizza for dinner and to escape the crying baby...my head was already pounding today...so then by 9pm, after mouching alot of pizza, he had his milk and off to lahlah land...and DH and I watched "hide and seek"...not what I expected at all..but at least it was in peace and quiet...

might go to the beach tomorrow morning and chill out, watch Jack down some sand and maybe get some sun on my pasty a$$...hahahaha

night ladies...

I soooooooo hear you on escaping the crying baby! James has been YEE YEE YEEEE YEEEEEEE but he's improving. He went to some strangers at the shops today of his own accord also...........he's toddling (few steps, falls on ar$e LOL) so Gail you aren't the only one with a non walker. Having said that it wont be long for either of us.
btw Mez your nicname cracks me up :-D At first when I saw it I thought you were Arab or something. Maybe Turkish - Mez with the Fez LMAO
Mel How's Noah now? (and Ripley if youre out there Mia) James' last needles the Dr stratched his leg with her great talons (ol' crow she was) didn't say anything just put his pants over it so I wouldn't, and didn't, notce till i got home *ggrrrrrr*

hahaha...it was my worst nightmare too...I have never let him do that before, but DH was looking after him...mmmm, men!!!... Took me ages to clean the chair up...next time, i will put him outside in his plastic blow up pool, then hose him off...

Just call me ... "Mez with the Fez..." nearly wet myself when I read that...tooooo funny girl...

I have been called Mare by my parents, brothers, friends and pretty much most of my rellies all my life...Mez was my work friends nickname for me...or Mares... It's funny how things happen like that and stick, again, I get worried when someone calls me Marianne..like I have done something naughty....(me?? never naughty...hehehehe:p )

It must be a 12mth needle thing, the nurse that did the 1 needle in his right arm must have stuck it in funny, cause it didn't come out very easy and all I heard her mumble under her breath was "opps" which made me double check him later when I left...luckily she didn't do any damage that I could see, but made me want to deck her one...she's suppose to be the one who knows whats shes doing...not "opps-ing"...

Hi to everyone else! Really lazy today so no personals. Hope bubs are sleeping and behaving (mine is only doing the former  ).

Hi everyone, we're BACK! It all went really well and we have some super photos to show for it, including one of Rip I think I might frame.

We managed to not get him sunburned even through a week of sun/reef/beach so I'm pleased about that. And we had him babysat 3 times and he took it like a pro, just playing games with whoever. It was hot so he had his first ever uncovered sleeps and that went well too. It still feels strange just putting them in the cot in just clothes (he was a sleeping bag bub).

Btw, his needles were all in the thigh, two in the right and one in the left I think.

He is sorta got hair now, hooray lol. Well it's strawberry blonde fuzz anyway. I'm pretty sure it's going to be curly like mummy.

Hello and best wishes to all. I'm sort of trying to wean but tried to skip the midday feed yesterday and had to give in and give him a bit.

Hi Everyone

Sorry just on here for a quick moan - GRRRRRRR :hair: Why does everyone always get sick on a Monday which is meant to be my study day???? Got a call at 9:45 to say Jess has nits so I had to go and pick her up and we've both just done our first nit wash together. Plus I've got a headcold and have lost my voice and I seem to have to ask her to do everything 5 times today which isn't helping :hair: On the plus side Alex doesn't have them and he had 12m needles in his arms - was told that's what it is from 12m on. All previous ones were in the thighs.

:babydust2: get well soon everyone, I'm off to see if I can get a little study done or, failing that, lie on the couch with a cuppa and watch Scrubs!

Maybe it differs from Dr to Dr Mez? Jett had two in one thigh and one in the other. Hope you survive the 4 days!

Gail - Hope you get some study done. Argh nits, a mother's worst nightmare!

Dani - I hope you complained about the cheesecake! Glad your on the mend!

Mia - welcome back! Im super jealous you got a tropical holiday. Im thinking I should take my baby bonus and go sunbathe somewhere tropical, I definately deserve it lol Do we get to see pics???

As for us, we're ok. Jett is turning into a right royal pain in the butt, talk about independence :hair: He is still overall a great kid but some days I feel like he sets out solely to make me scream enough to provide power to the whole country! Atleast his sleeping is fabulous otherwise Id be one very looney Mama. As far as the pregnancy goes, 27wks and 4days today - only 10w3d to go :yelclap: :smiliedance: Im sick of peeing 20x a night and feeling like the goodyear blimp. The itching has subsided a bit with the help of 2 types of antihistamine (one non-drowsy, and one for making me unconcious.........er I mean sleep  ) The heat hasnt helped any either, but I am so so so SO happy summer is finally here.
Dh and I, not so good. Im sick of having to ask him over and over again for help around the house/with Jett. He isnt completely useless to me, he does give me the opportunity to sleep in on sundays, but now that Im getting bigger and with all the issues I have this pregnancy Im finding it hard to do everything, on top of parenting a maniacal toddler. Im supposed to be taking it easy but thats hard. All Ive asked him to do is load/unload the dishwasher and vacuum everyday (as well as clean up after himself, Im sick of piles of clothes and dishes all over my house) but nope thats too hard. Im terrified of getting PND after Ripley is born because Im running myself into the ground with no rest or help. Sooooooo I have asked the military if I could move home to Sydney ASAP and Dh stays here until he moves on to a new job up there in May. He's not happy about it, has basically told me "Well we may as well get divorced now" but its the only solution to my problems. My sister and parents are there to provide support so I dont burn out and financially we'll be better off (that alone will take away a huge chunk of stress for me). Its only for 4 months, I offered him a compromise involving him helping me more so I dont go batty but he wasnt willing to do it. I really hope this doesnt mean the end of my marriage but why should I have to give give give and put my health at risk (not to mention our unborn babies health as well) just because he's a lazy so-and-so.

Sorry didnt intend to go off on a tangent. Guess I just needed to get it out.

Anywho Id better go organise Jett for swimming lessons today. He's such a water baby which surprises me because he hates the bath lol

Will pop back in later.

Hey Jess. Noah had 2 needles in one arm and one in the other arm. He has been ok since his needles, no more grumpy then normal. He would be in a better mood if he slept properly but do you think he will listen to me...lol. Noah is doing the whole climbing thing as well as the tantrums. He is quite amusing to watch as he stamps his feet trying to get his own way...hehehehe!

Hey Mez instead of going crazy on your own why dont you pop on over tomorrow and have about 6 cups of coffee with me and I might even cook something. DH is at work tomorrow so it would be us and the boys.

Mel xx

:o I must have read your post wrong Mel....I might just be going crazy!!!

Mel you must be careful what you post on a public forum as you might just end up with a crazy 'stalker' on your doorstep :detective: :D

Well done Nat on getting so far with the interviews. Now just to reel them in and tell them how wonderful you are and that you are the best person for the job
Mez it was lovely having you and Jack over yesterday. Sorry my boy wouldnt leave you alone and kept hugging and kissing you. He is just too smooth the little darling.

Aaaaaanyhoo, I went to my interview today (actually competency assessment) but I don't know if I did too good. I couldn't focus, couldn't concentrate :( I didn't have any breakfast but I had coffee (NOW it's beginning to work - ggrrrrrrr ) so I wasn't operating the best. I think I made a good impression though, find out Monday or Tuesday

Meanwhile DH gets the job as nanny! James slept 1.5 hours this morning for him and 2.5 hours this afternoon  I'm gobsmacked! I'm lucky to get one cycle out of him!!! *sheesh* Good one James.

The funniest thing happened though when I came home.... I walked up and saw James sitting on DH's lap. I knocked on the window so James would look up. He turned around and and was me and with this inquisitive look he turns back to David as if to say "If that's Mum over there in the window then who have I been with all day" He was stumped for about 20 mins! HAHAHA I could see him calculating it all in his mind, li'l div :-D

What sleep training are you using?

I have been a little hesitant to mention our improved sleep pattern we have had lately with Rylan, but I'm pretty sure we're on the right track now. Since he has been in his own bed his sleep has improved dramatically. He loves going to bed now (never thought I'd ever hear those words coming from my mouth!). He usually goes down 6:30-7pm and doesn't wake until about 3am (quick resettle with a small bottle) and he is Zzzzz again but tends to wake around 6-6:30am.

I have used a combination of Comfort Crying and Camping out...Ie: put him to bed awake but sleepy, leave the room for 2 mins, then go back in give him a cuddle, lay him down, sing or talk till he has calmed down, wait till he is calm then stay in there for 1 minute before leaving for 4mins...then progress to 8mins etc..(I haven't had to do this yet...yeah!!) or alternatively if he seems to need it, stay in the room without talking or eye contact, but just sit there till he is nearly alseep or asleep...

it has been less traumatic then just leaving him to cry it out (as this doesn't seem to work, he just builds up momentum)...I found that if I stay in the room though he tends to play or cry more than if I leave..

anyway there was only 2 nights of tanties and 4 nights of 4.30am wakings...then it's been heaps easier...

Congrats Jess and Mez on improved sleeping patterns

Well done! Got to do what works best hey?! I did similar with Ry a while ago when he was still in his cot - this helped with the bed time routine but he was still waking fairly frequently during the night for comfort.

We have pretty much come to an end with our breastfeeding journey :gloomy:... but also :) as we are both happy and Rylan is loving his milk in a trainer cup or bottle now. I think b/f played a big part in his night time waking for comfort reasons. He is much more independent now and Daddy is playing a bigger part in settling which has lifted so much weight off my shoulders! I don't feel like I'm the only one that can settle him.

I am having a girls night out next weekend :smiliedance: WOOT WOOT I'm going to knock a few happy hour drinks down and ENJOY myself as I haven't really done so in a looooong looooong time and I bloody well deserve it!

Mez are you still b/f? Have you got A/F back yet?

Actually, Logan has been a complete angel until yesterday, he has his last molar coming through so can't complain too much. Her on the other hand is an absolute devil of a child already! They even warned me when she was in the SCN that she was fiesty (aka constantly grumpy and unhappy).

Rylan's teeth seem to have come to a stand still.. thought he was close to getting another two bottom ones but they haven't popped though yet. He still has 6 in total.

Do you think Afrika may get reflux like Logan did Cassie?

Well I've not long been home from finishing my evening work run - I was naughty and grabbed some fish & chips on the way home and have just finished stuffing my gob! I love the late arvo/ evening runs as I get to spend some time with the boys during the day and get stuff done around the house or shops, then when 'witching hour' strikes I'm no where to be seen  by the time I arrive home the boys are tucked away in bed Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz :yelclap: WooHoo!!!

I have also started using my sleeping combination method during the night too as he seemed to be waking up for comfort like Ry, having a 5min feed and back to sleep…so at the moment I have limited him to 1 wake up feed if it’s before 3am… then I will try to faze it out as well… can’t go cold turkey on the poor little thing… too much of a shock to his system..

I love that DH can now put jack to bed without me, makes having time away less stressful and possible these days…

I just put him to bed at 9pm and haven’t heard a peep from him in 15mins…so far so good.

Mez are you still b/f? Have you got A/F back yet? boys are tucked away in bed

Yes, still Breastfeeding…however we are spacing the feeds out a lot more now and trying for none overnight…I got AF back when Jack was 8mths I think…they are very regular and my temp taking/ CM watching seems to indicate Ovulation…just keeping on trying…

Jett has been sick with a virus which caused him to break out in a horrid rash so the past weeks been miserable. I finally got a hospital to do something and they got us in to see a paediatrician who assured me he would be fine by the weekend (and he is) but now IVE got the bloody thing, or the flu or something. I feel like Im dying - my neck hurts, my nose is running. I was at the Mat ward yesterday with contractions and nearly almost passing out, they thought it was the heat (wasnt too hot though) and then I slept all afternoon to wake to this misery so I ended up in the ER last night making sure it wasnt meningitis or something. I just cant catch a bloody break. I got a lecture from the midwife about how it would be hugely inconvenient for all of us to have to send me to Melb because bub comes before 32wks as they arent equipped to deal with such prematurity so Id better start taking it easy.

HELLO - I have a 13mth old, no family support and a husband who works and doesnt seem to give a shyte???????

Which is why Ive put in to move to Sydney. Atleast that way my family is there (my sister can do mummy duties for Jett if god forbid Ripley comes early and I have to spend time at the Childrens Hospital) and it wouldnt mean having to stay in Melb for weeks and be permanently seperated from Jett (who would have to be in daycare everyday :( ) So now we wait for the Army to approve and hope they dont take to long as I dont have time on my side anymore.

So DH had friends over last night while my lovely girlfriends spent 4hrs at the ER with me, then he didnt come to bed til 4am (DST) sooooooo he's still sound asleep while *I* have been up and down to Jett all night (who's chosen not to sleep through the ONE night I needed decent sleep) when I am supposed to be resting so that I dont go into labour again.

Hope your all faring better than I am. Off to shower now.

Oh Anna, I hope things improve for you.

DP is great at settling Ripley. We are still breasfeeding too (3x) but yesterday for the first time, dropped the daytime feed. I went out shopping so there wasn't any temptation or drama and DP said he wasn't interested in any milk drink and went straight to sleep! So we will do that again today and then I have to keep it up all week when I am the only one. Then we'll drop the bedtime feed I think and then the morning feed. Fingers crossed it goes smoothly. I have mixed feelings about stopping bf. I am looking forward to stopping but also wistful about it.

Good luck for the job, Nats!

Just wondering if the name 'Rylan' has something to do with teeth coming through at a slower rate... cos my nephew Rylan is 2 in January and he only has 6 still. Didn't get any until after his 1st Bday.
Logan is getting #12 through, so I guess that means there shouldn't be any for another few months.

We're waiting for the bottom lateral incisors to cut through next and they can pop up anywhere between 10-16mths - so he's on track. Rylan actually got his upper lateral incisors well before Hayden did when he was a bub. The first molars on the bottom are due to erupt between 14-18mths and top molars between 13-19mths and the canines usually after 16mths, so I think Logan is on the early side of the scale.

Anna you are really doing it tough :( Sorry to hear you are in the position you are in atm and hope you are able to get a transfer to Sydney where you have family support.... to your other half!

Hope Jett and yourself are feeling better soon. Take it easy!

I think I will cry when B/feeding is over...

I don't blame you - it can be a very emotional time esp if it is forced/ ends abruptly. When the time is right for you both it will all fall into place. I was quite emotional when I stopped b/f Hayden at 5mths. I wasn't as educated about b/f as I was with Rylan and having bubhub for support was a bonus for me this time too. I feel very proud and privileged to have b/f Rylan for over 12 months and will cherish those precious memories I have. There are many more beautiful journeys ahead I look forward to.The main thing is Rylan is happy and healthy and he hasn't been deprived of something he wants as I'm sure at this age now he is able communicate this to me through his actions/ emotions. So I think we have both done pretty well. Mother guilt is aways lurking though

Cass, my childbearing days are completely over as of the day this little monster decides to vacate the premises. If Drs would tie my tubes or do a hysterectomy Id be over the moon but unfortunately they wont at my age soooooooo I keep annoying Ry to get a vasectomy. He's sure he doesnt want anymore either so I told him then he can get snipped, that way we know there will definately be no more. Ive been through enough already I think. I have absolutely no desire to ever be pregnant again, when I think about it I want to :barf: Thats pretty bad huh.

So I cant talk today. I feel like **** but atleast Jett has slept in :smiliedance: Ry actually HELPED me yesterday, I slept in til lunchtime and sat on my butt the rest of the day while he cleaned, did the dishes and washed clothes. Too little too late unfortunately, I hate that it takes a lecture about premmie babies and the benefits of actually making it to 36wks from a midwife to get him to grow up.

Speaking of babies, mine is causing me some wicked period pain. BBL - off to veg on the couch while its still quiet.

Hope you are all well. We are great here, Zara is 13 months now...she is standing and walking around the couch but not quite game enough to take those steps on her own. She is so cheeky it's crazy and we just love and adore her. She has eight teeth and I suspect that she is getting some molars through soon.

We took our first family holiday to Sydney to celebrate her first birthday and our wedding anniversary which was amazing. It was so good to get away and just be together...must do it again soon.

Congratulations Cassie on the birth of your little girl and Anna on your pregnancy. We have no plans to have any more and Jase is actually going to get the snip sometime early next year....thank god!

Just a quickie though, haven't heard about the job yet.... tomorrow for sure :fingerscrossed:

Last night at about 12:30am he woke up screaming in pain from an ear ache. This went on for almost an hour. There was nothing I could do to ease his pain, he was restlessly rolling all over the bed and didn't really want to be touched. Ended up giving him booby to settle him after a dose of ibupofen. He was in agony :( poor little thing! Hope your right he's better today Nat

:fingerscrossed: Good luck with the job news today:fingerscrossed:

Hello lovelies:wave:

Anna Im sorry things arent going so well for you at the moment. I hope you get to transfer up to Sydney soon so you can have your families support.

Mez I love the pic of Jack snoozing. He looks so sweet and innocent. Im glad he is sleeping sooooo much better for you now. Lets hope he keeps it up.

Nat I hope you hear that you have the job soon to put you out of your stress of worrying wether or not you have got it or not.

Jess big :hugs: to your gorgeous boy Rylan. I know how bad ear infections are as I have suffered with them chronically since a kid. It does help as Nat said to have his head elevated as it stops the pressure of the fluid draining into the ear canal causing more pain. Hope he is feeling 100% soon.

Linley it is lovely to hear from you again. Zara has changed so much. She looks like a little toddler now, not a little baby anymore. She is just too cute.

Mia how are you and the adorable Ripley going? Are you still working on cutting down the b/f? The only time I have luck with cutting Noah's down is if I am not around. He doesnt really care less till he sees me then wants it right then and there the cheeky little monkey.

Cass how are the kids going? Has Afrika started to settle down a bit more now?

Well it looks like I am going to work tonight:eek: . My DD's father has his own business transporting deceased people from homes, morgues etc to funeral homes. He has asked me to do the odd job with him and looks like tonight will be my first time. I dont know how Noah is going to go without having my boobs with him to help settle him off to sleep. Andrew said he will manage with him even if he does scream the house down.
Im not sure if I told you all but I let my sister cut Noahs hair last week. I finally uploaded the pics so I could show you all.

Noah is driving me crazy with all his climbing. The funny thing is though he likes to climb up on to a chair Callan has in his room, once up there he cant get down...lmao:laughing:

 it would help if he stayed put! Unfortunately, he lays where he wants to lay

Nat I hope you get some news soon... must be so anxious to find out hey?

Wow Noah looks like such a chubby cheeks toddler now with his new haircut! He doesn't look to impressed by the looks of it either lol

 Dani good to hear from you too! Ry is also a climber - he is now getting himself up on the lounges and making himself comfortable. The other day I caught him trying to stand up on the arm at the end of the lounge while reaching over to the window

Hi everyone! Had a pretty awful day at work today and it's a good thing that those are few and far between cause I couldn't handle too many like that. Just a bit of stress trying to get ready to fill in for another lady for the next two weeks and trying to organise my department as well....:hair: I like this icon, it's exactly how I felt!

Anyway, other than that all is great. Zara has been in bed for an hour and a half which is wonderful. Over the past week or so I have been putting her in her cot to sleep and she is seems to sleep better in there than with us which makes me a bit sad cause I miss her at night. I am so silly! LOL.

Nats hope you get some good news on the job front tomorrow.

Jess how is Rylan tonight? Hope he is better, so glad to hear that you are enjoying work. We won't be going to NZ this year, Mum and I had to fly back for my cousins fathers funeral in July, a flying visit as we were only there for 2 days. Anyway, we are planning a big trip for the rugby world cup in four years but we may get back before that too.

Mel Noah looks so impressed with his haircut...what a cutie.

Hi Dani, Mez, Cassie and everyone I haven't mentioned!

OK Guys - don't faint, I'm here and ready to do a long catch-up post - I've got my ABBA dvd on random in preparation for seeing Bjorn Again on Saturday, Jess is at daycare and Alex is asleep!

OK - going to go back a couple of pages to catch up as much as I can with you all

Zada - congrats on Damien walking!

Linley - Zara sounds like she's doing well and glad to hear you had anice holiday. Alex is at the same stage of not letting go for more than a second or two.

Cass - congrats on Logan walking! And I hope the kids start listening to their mummy soon and behaving themselves. Just FYI my first 4-5 months with Alex are just a blur now, can't really separate out any days or remember what we did - besides sleeping, feeding, vomiting, rocking and trying to spend time with Jess too!

Mez and Wondermum - glad to hear sleeping is getting better. :fingerscrossed: it stays like this for you.

Jess - I hear you on the kids being ill, someone here always seems to be. Not today tho cross fingers

Mia - glad to hear you had a nice break

Anna - :hugs: and just caught up with other posts. Hope you get some help and that your transfer gets approved. Did you work in the forces too, is that why you have to have approval or is it standard for all spouses?

Wondermum - sorry to hear about Ry's infection. Hope it clears up soon.

Nats - good luck with the job

As for Alex, he amazes me every day - last week Jess and I said we'd go to the shops once he woke up from his, normally 90 min, nap and by the time he woke up, 4 hours later, Jess had had lunch and gone to sleep! He's very fast up the stairs and goes there when he wants his nap. I'm going to post some photos on my profile now. He also loves getting on and off his musical rocking horse and rocking away to the William Tell overture!

Jess is good, starting to push boundaries again. She's usually very good but has been, for her, quite naughty this week - picking up things in shops, not doing what the teacher asks in music lessons, etc.

Anyway, I have finished my master post, Hi to everyone who I didn't mention. I will go and post some photos on my profile now if you want to have a look in a while.

As for all photos - I will go and look at them now en masse. I presume they will all be gorgeous!!

Hi guys, bit quiet in here tonight. Not much to report here today...apart from the fact that as much as I thought Zara wouldn't sleep in her cot she seems to have settled into a nice routine. I put her to bed around 7.15-7.45pm and kiss her goodnight and it only takes a couple of minutes to fall asleep. The last two nights she has slept right through the night...I can't believe it! :fingerscrossed: she keeps this up!

Hope your day at work was better today Lin (((hugs)))

Jess how is Rylan tonight?

Ry is improving, he has been quite tired though - sleeping a lot. Unfortunately we put Hayden to bed with an ear ache tonight - he was in tears :( seems as though he now has an ear infection. I'm not joking both my boys have been sick without so much of a weeks break between the various stains for the past 2 months! This is the worst stint of illnesses we've dealt with.... Grrrr it's really getting to me!

:yelclap: for Zara settling in her cot. I know what you mean about missing them when they're not in your bed - they are very much a part of you still. Well done - hope she keeps it up for you.

Well done on the catch up post Gail :yelclap: Hey I had forgotten to mention to you that we have 'Dreamy Donuts' here in Newcastle NSW!!! YES and I have tried them :D I love the white Lindt ones! I had a look at your photo's in your Zoints ... wow Alex has changed again! He is looking very handsome! Hey wouldn't it be great if we knew beforehand that they will be asleep for 4 hours?!

Well it seems as though we have lost one of our dogs :( Nathan has been looking for him since dinner time and has now gone out for a drive around the neighborhood. Hayden will be very upset if we can't find him.

Erm...I am going to test tomorrow too :bfn:
