Medicare coverage?!?!

I was just wondering if medicare covers scans and bloodtests and stuff like that?? Does anyone know??

I went public and I can't fault the system at all!!! I do share care where I see my doctor (which I pay for) and the hospital. My scan and all my blood tests were done at the hospital so I didn't have to pay for any of them. :) My Doctor just used to get copies of everything sent to her so that she knew what was going on.

I have to agree - I am currently using the Midwife clinic at Manly hospital and it's wonderful and everything is covered!!

no out of pocket expence for the care (other than the pre nat. classes that we are doing!)

I went public through the midwives clinic as well and didnt have to pay for a thing. The only things we ended up paying for was the prenatal classes and the parking at the hospital.

I had a private scan that cost $200. I got about $80 back from medicare.
