View Full Version : If you have ever miscarried
Can I ask, how long after did you feel and look 'not pregnant'? Was it a rapid change, or very gradual?
I had 4 days of bleeding which just looked like a normal period, which stopped yesterday.
As this is/was my 3rd pregnancy, I probably look about 3 months pregnant at 7/8 weeks.
I'm wondering how long it may take for my belly to start shrinking if I have lost the baby, at the moment it still looks exactly the same.
Sometimes I feel as if I am not pregnant, sometimes I feel as though i still am, and I actually do not know if I did miscarry or not.
So i am looking for discernible changes either way, belly getting bigger, or shrinking.
And I'm not interested in seeing a doc (at this stage)
Any info would be greatly appreciated.:)

I hope its not a mc for you :hugs:
With mine, I was 8 weeks when I started to bleed. Still looked pretty big for a while afterwards. My bub hadn't developed past 5weeks, it just took that long for my body to do anything about it.
Sorry I can't be of more help :hugs:

Hi,
I started bleeding at 5wks but lost bub at 6wks so my stomach didn't get to grow all that much. However, my boobs were sore for quite a while, until the hormones were out of my system.
I hope this isn't a m/c for you. Just know that bleeding doesn't always mean m/c. I spotted for a week (no major bleeds) and lost mine but more than one person I know have bled profusely and gone on to have healthy babies.
:hugs: :hugs: :hugs:
I am really sorry to hear that you may be having a miscarriage:hugs:
I had a missed miscarriage and ended up having a d&C at eleven weeks. The baby had however stopped growing at seven weeks 2 days. The week before my d&C my tummy had "popped":( Its now five/six weeks post d&C and I certainly dont look pregnant anymore my body is back to normal. As for my hormones though that is a completely different matter and I am all over the place.
Sorry again

I am not sure as I fell pregnant again a few months later, I am also very sorry for you loss. Have you done a hpt to see if you could still be pregnant? Do you have any other symptoms still?

Thinking of you AM :hugs:
At my early M/C's, I wasn't showing enough to have any discernable change. At my 16 weeker, I had a D&C and therefore immediate change after the op. I went under with the general with my hand on my rounded tummy. I woke up in recovery and my tummy was flat.:(
I know you don't want to see a Dr but a HcG bloodtest is the only thing that gave me some closure to my last natural M/C. At least then I knew. I was only 5.5 weeks but the bleeding lasted more than 4 days though - more like a week or so.:fingerscrossed:
Thanks. Something I found out that I did not know was that with a home pg test you can still register pregnant up to 8 weeks after a miscarriage, or giving birth!

Yes thats true AM
I miscarried my first child at 8 wks. I had been bleeding for 3 wks and had no idea i was even pregnant til i went to the doc and the test showed positive. I had already lost the baby but it took a while for the HCG levels to drop. I bleed in all for 1 1/2 mths. Mine was also a suspected ectopic so i had to go up to the hospital every monday for the next month to have a blood test to ensure the levels kept dropping. They also gave me an injection of something to help with the process.
If you had a blood test it may still show positive but they would be able to give you an idea on whether you were within normal range for how far you are and retest a week later to tell you whether it was decreasing or increasing levels.
I also mc my third pregnancy but it was at 6 wks, with only a week of bleeding. The only odd thing I experienced was my milk came in about 3 wks later (which was cruel) which apparently although rare can happen. I can't say that I really notice any difference with my stomach for either though.

Double trouble that happened with my second mc. It was really faint BFP and then i started to bleed.
To know for sure its best to have the bloods done i think so they can monitor which way the levels are going because in my case being suspected ectopic as well if the levels had of kept increasing i would have needed emergency surgery.

I felt bloated till i got af back again i knew that i wasnt pregnant though as the sickness and sore boobs went away my stomach still felt like i was pregnant though for a few weeks
Hopefully its just some spotting and you havent lost bubs if so heaps of hugs to you
All the pregnancy symptoms, sore boobs etc went pretty much straight away and i felt not pregnant from the day. I had + HPT for only 1 or so weeks after my D & C i did that to see how my HCG was falling, so i knew when to start testing with OPK's thats why i kept testing. But yes it can show for up to 8 weeks post M/c or birth. Thats why when i fell pregnant straight after the doctor wouldn't say a positive even after the BT was + coz he had to make sure the hcg was going up not down.
