In desperate need of some help organising DD's first birthday!

Have decided on the Teddy Bears Picnic but need a few ideas. It will be in a park in summer.

Anyone have ideas for:

Food..?
Cake..?
Invites..?
Decorations..?

I'll take any ideas you can throw at me please....:D

Make a teddy bear cake!! Just like the face of a teddy (a circle cake) and 2 cupcakes for his ears???

Or since its a picnic you could just have all cupcakes and draw faces on them with the icing tubes??

here are a few suggestions -

food: bbq'd chicken wingettes (great for little hands), sandwiches, for healthy options vegetable fingers (carrot, celery) with dip. fruit kebabs dipped in yogurt as dessert for kids.

cake, invites and decor would have to tie in with your theme of teddy bears so that's pretty easy.

We are holding a teddy bears picninc iun our backyard on Sunday. W ehave asked all guests(mostly adults!0 to bring a picnic rug and a teddy bear) I am jsut decorating teh yard with lots of blue ballons as well as teddy bears sitting around the place. We have a tree stump in our backyard which I am going to put a table cloth on and have a couple of teddys picnicing on it.
I am making a teddy bear cake.
I found a great recipe for teddy bear face biccies on paddle pop sticks which I think I will give each guest as they leave, I can post the recipe if you are interested.
I am also going to use a cookie cutter to make the sanwiches and fairy bread a teddy bear shape.
Other food I am doing that isn't 'themed' is.........
honey joys
chocolate crackles
mini hotdogs
cambodian pasties
jelly cups
Lots of fresh fruit
I have some more ideas for you but I need to feed bub now. I will come back after the party adn post some phots too if you like.
