no more booby????

What The?????? today, ds has had no booby whatsoever!?!?!? Normally he would have three feeds a day, two by now and one late arvo/early evening. I'm not worried at all - he is happy and eating plenty of food. Just surprised.....has anyone else had a bub who has just given it up 'cold turkey'????? He could wake up from his sleep and just suck, suck, suck, who knows. He's just turned one so it's not a huge deal anyway. But I don't need to give him milk or anything, do I? Provided he's getting enough calcium elsewhere of course.

wow... 'cold turkey' hey!! hehe

coby gave up one day but i had given him one bottle and that was the end of boobies... bottles it was! he was 6.5 months tho so i had to keep giving him bottles..

now he is almost off bottles just on cows milk during the day and bottle at night bu ti hope to get him off that one before he reaches one... which isnt very far away!

hoep he goes cold turkey there too!

My bubs is only 3.5 months, so I can't give you any personal experience, but my mum told me recently that my youngest sister did everything 'cold turkey'. She did this particularly with her sleeping patterns, but I'm sure it could happen when feeding too.

Yep. It happened to me. My youngest just refused to feed at around 15months, I was upset as my oldest kept going well into his 3rd year. I just kept offering it and in the end gave up. He would drink the EBM cold from a cup for a while then refused that to:( (I pumped as I just assumed it was a strike and he would eventually come around........... but NO he turned 2 in December and has had the odd suck but I can count them on one hand since he was 15 months.) I was really upset and felt a failure but thats what I signed up for Child lead weaning and it happened to me too early though...........It does feel strange when it happens.

He ended up waking up from his sleep wanting booby, then again before he went to bed, so two feeds instead of three. Maybe he was just having an odd day, or maybe this is the beginning ot the end?!
I would really love to read more stories on your self weaning bubbas anyway!!
