I've been speaking with my physiotherapist and he seems to believe that Glucosamine would be beneficial for both my joint pain and help to prevent future deterioration. I've spoken to my doctor and he's neutral on the matter stating that not he's not up on current studies but the prior medical position was that there was no indication eitherway.

I've done some of my own research on the matter which it may play a role in relieving pain associated with osteoarthritis and that it has been studied for over 20 years with an excellent track record which evidence that it appears to be quite safe.

I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with Glucosamine and what their thoughts were? Useless/good/no benefit?

Barry I can't say for myself but my DH uses it and....swears by it. He went from feeling like a rusty old goat, banning his head in frustration:banghead: because at the age of 30 he had the mobility of a 70 yr old.
You see at 140kg his joints are under Xtreme pressure and after starting on glucosime for 7 days would swear someone oil's his joints of a night:smiliedance:

and me, well I can see the relief from the nightly activities:yelclap:

Thanks for the reply :)

I'm thinking I might give it a go, it's not like something bad will happen if I do.

Perhaps in 7 days I'll feel the same. *fingers crossed* haha although I know that won't happen in my current condition, but an relief will be welcome!

Hi Baz :D
I don't have any personal experience with glucosamine, but before DD I worked in a pharmacy, and we went through truckloads of the stuff, the same people came back for more time after time, claiming how much better their pain and inflammation was,a few customers found they were pain free.
You probably know from your research that it may take around 4 to 6 weeks before you notice any difference (unless your lucky enough to notice in 7 like lilsprouts DH) and you shouldn't take it if you are allergic to shellfish,as it is derived from them, and that you take it long term.
You can also get glucosamine combined with chondroiton,I'm not exactly sure what it is but it works together with the glucos.....but you probably know that too.:p
Good luck, I hope it benefits you.:)
