Hi everyone, im a bit worried about my baby girl and am hoping someone here knows whats going on because ive called the child health nurse and she said it sounds normal she might just be tired (well she's obviously tired thats why i called) and take her to the drs tomorrow if she's the same, so anyway here's whats going on...

jayda has been really really sleepy the last two days. i also started her on formula two days ago (still bf at night and morning) so im not sure if its linked somehow or just co-incidence. she used to stay awake for 2-4 hours at a time during the day and only sleep for about 60 mins two or three times a day then just wake up once at night. the last two days she's been sleeping so so much, 2-3 hours at a time during the day, then only awake for 45mins, 60 mins or 90 mins at most then back to sleep again for a few hours. she's still sleeping normal at night. when she is awake she's eating well and seems completely normal, now that she's having formula during the day she's only eating three times between 9am and 7pm rather than 6 or so times she was when bf, but soon after she cant wait to get back to sleep again.

does it sound like something is really wrong? or is this normal baby behaviour like the CHN said? she doesnt seem to be getting sick at all, no runny noses or temperature or anything like that, hasnt had any injections lately, i just dont understand and am so worried so hope someone can help until we get to the drs in the morning :(

Hey Hun Im gonna send you a text anyway but isnt there a growth spurt at 12 weeks? I noticed Bailey slept alot when he got to about that age.

I would just monitor her over the next week but if she seems content and feeding well then she may just be growing! I remember asking my GP about Bailey sleeping and he told me babies grow when they sleep so when they have a growth spurth a good sign is more sleeping IYKWIM!

Talk soon babe

Sounds just like AJ to me... :) But both mine are sleepy kids. And it is something I encourage too! :D

Sounds pretty normal to me to. And if it has changed at the same time you changed her to formula during the day she is possibly more content and getting more at a feed. But like the others have said monitor her over the next few days and if she stays well then there should not be anything to worry about.
