On Thursday my hands felt like they were a little more swollen than usual, but it wasnt until Friday that my wedding ring was embedded in my finger and DH had to cut it off with a few different tools in the garage as my finger was going blue and my nail was going all weird.
I went to the Dr., and he said its just because I'm getting to the end, any ideas on this?? No tests or anything were done.
Last night I couldnt sleep due to an awful headache that I couldnt shake, I had some panadol (allergic to anything stronger), and tried to get some sleep, but the slightest noise pounded my head in.
Any ideas? Should I see another Dr? This is my fourth pregnancy, and havent had anything like this before.
Dakota :gloomy:
I'd call the hospi and see what they think  the hospi I ad my kids at were always happy to answer my silly questions...tho yours isn't really silly, I would be worried as well.
Are you drinking plenty of water? That always seemed to help when I had a headache while I was preg, it helps with the swelling too.
:hugs: sorry to hear that you had to cut your wedding ring off :hugs:
Hope everything is ok and your headache goes away soon.

How many weeks gestation are you ?
When I was pregnant with DS1 I had a fair bit of swelling and headaches. The doctor recommended that I be tested for preeclampsia. So he took my blood pressure which was a little on the high side, and then told to do a urine sample to test for high protein. Which by the way doesn't always indicate that you have preeclampsia. Further tests are done, ie liver and kidney functioning test and a blood test for platelets. I didn't end up having preeclampsia..
However, I was also tested for gestational diabetes, that I did have, and was watched closely and I was induced at 38 weeks gest because I was told that I was having a big baby  7lb 7oz hardly a big baby.
I would see another doctor  It's always best to get a second opinion when it comes to the health of you and your unborn baby. By the sounds of it you were fobbed off by the doctor you last saw.
Like cwsmum said, drinking plenty of water is a good idea.
Good luck, I hope it's nothing and that it is because "you are getting to the end". haha

I am 32.5 weeks, so on the home stretch, but not quite there.
I am drinking more water than I ever have, I just can't seem to quench the thirst.
When I questioned pre eclampsia, I was told that I couldn't get it, because it was my fourth pregnancy, and no prior history of it...
On my card it says my usual BP is 110/60 but last weeks check has it at 120/90...none of that makes any sense to me, is that a normal increase...sorry to sound so dumb.

I'm also miserable about my wedding ring. I have the pieces though, so hopefully someone clever can fix it for me.
I would be calling the hospital too, that is quite an increase in your blood pressure and you should be properly checked out and not dismissed especially given you have headaches and swelling. Please give them a call, it could be nothing but always good to get things checked out.

Consider asking for a gestational diabetes test.. being thirsty all the time is another sign of GD.

That's not true!

Anything above 140/90 is rather high, so you're safe.

 That's a bit silly, it's probably not very likely that you will get it because you have no history of it, but it's still possible.
Have you called the hospi yet? I would call them, and make sure you mention that you are realy thirsty too coz that can be a sign of GD.

Called the hospital, they said to come into clinic tomorrow, so I will do that, meanwhile I need to keep my feet up, and drink slowly, so I guess thats what I will do.
Will let you know how I go.
Cheers for the support

I had a BP of 153/88 and even thats fine only if the bottom number goes higher say like over 100 then it'll raise concerns... My fluid retention and BP has fluctuated since the start of my pregnancy Dakota and i"ll be 29weeks on thursday... Saw the OB today for the first time as i was seeing GP and Midi's and he said I was fine and i can continue seeing them
Im sure you'll be fine chicki :D :fingerscrossed:
Will tune back in later

Well it seems that the fluid retention isnt that much to worry about. I have just moved to QLD and they think it might have something to do with that. Not used to the humidity and heat etc, and drinking a little bit too much water. But I did fail my GCT, so I need to do another tomorrow, as they were unable to squeeze me in today.
No reason for the persistent headaches though.
Glad to hear things aren't too serious :hugs: Good luck with the test tomorrow.
They say the swelling is coz you aren't used to the humidity/heat...that's a great excuse to go to the shops and sit in the aircon :D That's where I spent alot of the last few weeks of both my pregnancies.
