You beat me to this post!

DD2 LOVES the fruit muslie as well from Only Organic. I was looking in my cupboard this morning wondering if I cooked my own oats can she eat them? Or is that different?

I hope someone can help us

I hope so too. Kiah is cereal mad. It would be nice to make it homemade and then the older kids could eat it too.

Yes it would be! I have fond memories of oatmeal*(porridge)that I would love my kids to experience.

I don't have a recipe but bubs can eat normal rolled oats, just cook them according to the pack with water or milk. You can then add a tablespoon of fruit puree for taste.

Just use normal oats, and cook some fruit in. Instant oats will give you a smoother consistency with less cooking time, but I prefer to use less processed foodstuff.

I found a really good recipe for the oatmeal. Its sounds really yum and easy to do

ingredients

1. Peel, core and cut a small apple into small dices
2. Place in a pan with 1/4 c ground oats and 3/4 c water
3. Bring mixture to a slow boil. Simmer covered, checking frequently, until apples are soft and oatmeal is cooked.
4. Be sure to stir and mash while cooking
5. Mix in formula or breast milk or juice to thin if needed - puree if necessary

Cooking Instructions

Sprinkle a bit of cinnamon in the cereal, and/or add a dash of vanilla if you desire. Ensure all additions are approproate for your baby’s age and stage):)
