That's an interesting article. It throws up several points I think. Firstly, I cannot believe that Michael Young (the Islam convert) has circumcised his young son, but admits to being too "squeamish" to undergo the procedure himself. My goodness! He's admitting that he fears circumcision, but doesn't hesitate to get his son circumcised?!
Also, I found the court battle between the 12-year-old and his father interesting. I hope the child wins the basic human right of determining what happens to his body.

IMO what we should take from this is not MN's rather sensationalist quote, but rather that for societal change within a specific cultural group to be effective the change has to occur from within and not imposed.
