My son is 15 months old (born july 2006)
SLEEP
1. No set sleep or rest times during the day, just whenever he feels like it. Some days he might only have half an hour, and other days he might have two or three. At night he is in bed by eight thirty and usually gets up some time between six and seven.
2. I don't really understand. During the day I take him from whatever activity he is doing and put him into the cot. At night he has a routine of bottle, medicine, teeth, story / cuddle, bed.
3. Generally I put him in the cot and he just goes to sleep. Sometimes during the day though, I let him sleep laying on me on the lounge.
4. Jacob uses his dummy to settle.
5. Mostly in the cot, but occasionally on me or in my bed.
6. Not particularly.
SETTLING YOUR CHILD
He doesn't go to childcare.
THINGS THEY DO THEMSELVES
1. Nothing, he is only 15 months.
2. As above.
3. I still do everything for my son becaus eof his age, and because he has a global development delay.

My daughter was born 25/7/2005, so is about 26 and a half months...
SLEEP
1. what time does your child usally sleep or rest? Nap from about 2-4pm, bed at 9.30pm (but we get up later than normal people... about 8.30am).
2. what does your child do before they sleep or rest? Nothing. We get her dummy, and her Elmo (she MUST have him everywhere she goes or she freaks out), tuck her in, and sometimes read her a story.
3. how do you usually settle your child? Nothing. She does that herself.
4. does your child have a special toy or comfort item they use to settle? A pre-loved 90s Tickle-Me-Elmo she got at Christmas 06 (when she was 17 months). She's obsessed with him. He has to go everywhere. He's really worn out and gross... lol. She calls him Scruffy Elmo. She has to lay him across her body (horizontally) and tickles his belly. It calms her down.
5. where does your child sleep or rest? In her bed. She only moved into a big bed about 2 weeks ago.
6. does your child have any specific physical or emotional needs during sleep or rest? Um.... just her Elmo doll I think? Otherwise she just wants her blanket on, but I think that's because she's addicted to routine.
SETTLING YOUR CHILD
Can't reply to any of these questions, as she doesn't go to childcare.
THINGS THEY DO THEMSELEVES.
1. WHAT things does your child do for themselves and your family? Um... I dunno what you mean by this. She goes to sleep on her own, can ask for things she needs... but she can't dress herself of anything like that.
2. WHEN does your child do things for themseleves and the family? n/a
3. what help or support do you provide eg: guiding, requestiing, reminding? I pretty much have to show her how to do things, ask her to do things, and THEN remind her how to do them... I think that's what most people have to do with 2-year-olds though...
4.do you have any cultural that affect the things that your children do themseleves,eg: diffrent expectations for boys and girls, adults do most things for the child? No, we don't have any cultural issues. We just do our best... sometimes we get her to do things on her own, sometimes we do it for her. It's not culturally/religiously influenced though...

SETTLING YOUR CHILD
1.how does your child settle into there child care service most days? Upset at first then sees the other kids.
2. what do YOU do to settle your child into the childcare service each day? Take her over to her friends and give her a big cuddle before saying goodbye.

4. do you feel your child has specific neds that should be catered for when settling into the childcare each day? She just needs a little bit of emotional re-assurance from the daycare teachers i think.
