i'm wondering if anyone can shed some light on my DS situation....

He has had a 'rattly' chest for about 18months off and on (he's 2 now). It's NOT a wheeze but a rattle, like he has phlem in his throat but he wont/cant get it up. He coughs but it doesn't go away.
I have been to 3 different drs, this is what they all said
1. It's nothing- all children have this
2. It's asthma- take the ventolin and flixotide
3. It's Bronchilitis- should be gone in about 5 days or so

The ventolin didn't work- flixotide works somewhat

The 'Brochilitis' did not go in 5 days

On at least 3 occasions it has worried him to the fact where he is clutching his chest, having trouble breathing, coughing so much he is almost chocking/gagging and that he cannot sleep.

I will be taking him back to the dr to get a referal to a peadiatrition but wanted to see if you guys could make any sense of this?

I sympathise completely. Gwens been like this for months and months and months. She's had so many rounds of antibiotics, and now I just get "give her demazin, it'll go away"

I've been getting told to get her demazin for 3 or 4 months now, and she still has the same cough. She coughs all night long.

I'm a bit sick of being told its nothing, or that all kids get it. I think when it goes on for months and months, its abnormal.

Sounds like Asthma to me.

Strange that the ventolin does not work though.

Ask to see a specialist!

Well, last Saturday night it got really bad. He was staying with Nan & Pop for te first time. He stopped breathing and had a convulsion (Not linked). It was a blessing in disguise really. He went to a peadiatrition and we are resolving the issue.
