My twins are 3 days younger than yours and i havent experienced it yet, what i have been told though is that alot of babies will cat nap during the day and sleep better at night. Because of this i havent out the boys into a routine, i let them sleep till they wake up and during the day if they wake up before there feeding time then i will resettle them or if they are really restless i will give them play time, when its time for feeding i will feed them give them more play time, by that time they are ready to sleep.
Night time they feed and sleep, so far they have been happy with this.

im just finding it very hard during the day because she will sleep for about half hour then wake up and wanna play... now this happens all day long! i cant seem to get anything done or even get a break! she is ok during the night only wakes up once so thats not so bad!
It's hard to tell really, but it could be a growth spurt - wanting more feeds. Or, it could be the start of the dreaded teething!!
If bubs isn't really all that hungry when waking up, then don't feed. Maybe try panadol. If it is the teeth, then that will help.
Also, does bubs send themselves off to sleep? What I mean is, do you put bubs to sleep awake? Babies sometimes wake up during sleep cycles and may not know how to fall back to sleep. Teaching them to fall asleep on their own can help alleviate this problem.
Anyway, I really hope something works for you!! I hate being woken up! :)
sorry. I just realised you meant day sleeps! I am such a dork!
I am sorry to say that I have no solution for this. my DD does this too!! She is such a great time waster!
So ok, if anyone has a solution! Help!

Whats happened is she is waking up after her sleep cycle, the key is dont pick them up and try and pat them back to sleep. They need to learn to fall back to sleep on there own, with my boys if they become hysterical i pick them up calm them down and try and put them back to sleep, if that fails then i give them play time, to me there is no point fighting a losing battle. Because of twins the less screaming the better

most of the time she puts her self to sleep but there is times where i will have to pat her on the belly till she falls asleep!... hmmm maybe it is teething

Hi,
I am only new here, but I experienced the same thing with my son. He was a great sleeper until he hit 3 months, then started waking after one sleep cycle. I tried to do the whole resettle thing, but found I was spending too much time doing it and it wasn't fair on the rest of the family.
All I can say is it does get better. My little man is 5 months tomorrow and he has good days and bad days, but he is starting to sleep a little better during the day now.
Try and hang in there.

Hi there,
I am going through exactly the same thing - my son Patrick was born 29/10/05 so is the same age. He was a great night sleeper from 7 weeks until a week ago. He would sleep for 8+ hours a night but now he is waking up again in the middle of the night anywhere from midnight to 4am for a feed and I am struggling to get him to have any decent sleep during the day. The weekend was a nightmare with two 20 minute naps on Saturday (one of which was in the pram) and two 30 minute naps on Sunday. Thank goodness yesterday he managed 4 naps (all of 40 minutes or less though).
I have read that their appetitie increases at 4 months so I am hoping this is the explanation and once he starts solids he will go back to sleeping well again (not that he's ever really been a big day sleeper but I want my nights back).
It's a pain during the day not having more than half an hour to yourself isn't it? I just had to go in to Paddy's room because he was squawking after being asleep for all of 30 minutes but he was still sleepy so I picked him up and rocked him for a minute incase it was a burp he needed to do (which it sometimes is) and he now seems to be back asleep (fingers crossed) - don't know how long it lasts.
I don't have any solutions I'm afraid - I am spending most of my days with a little man at my side. Lets hope this is only a stage.
Cath
