Anyone from the Harvey area

OMG we might be moving to Harvey, its a big move from QLD. Just wondering if there is anyone out there who wants to start chatting so i know someone.

i am about a 20 mi n drive from harvey. bunbury will be the closest big town. why you movin to harvey?

DH is trying for a job there. More money then he is getting here. We probably wont move till the new year, but i want to get to know people before i get there, making friends is really hard for me so i need to get a head start (too shy :rolleyes:).

What are the shops like in Bunbury, is it a big place. Do you have Spotlight?

yep there is a spotlight. theres a bunch of stuff but its not huge. i moved from perth last year and i am still amazed at the lack of facililities compared to the amount of people but surprisely it works i have never had to wait long in line. theres coles and woollys and big w and target and lots of little cool shops. no myers or DJs or anything which surprised me too cause there are stacks of rich people around but perth is only 2 hours away so you can get all that stuff there. its pretty big for a country town. people are cool too. when are you moving?

Thats good, i dont need myers and DJs, i think i have only stepped foot in the place about twice in my life. It will be good to have the other major shops like big w and target and stuff just a short drive away. We have a target country in my current town and thats it, and a woolies and small shops, the nearest big shops are 1 1/2 hours drive away. If DH gets the job we will be moving at the start of next year, before school starts.

Do you have prep over there, what age do the kids start school, i think i need to have a little look at the education system, in case i need to get on a kindy waiting list or something instead of prep.

they have a june to july system here that i never understand but i think it is that if your child in born between july and june they start kindy at three and and if they are born july onwards they start the year they turn four. my child is born 20 of july so he will start the year he turns four.

there are stacks of kindys in bunbury and i think there is at least one in harvey i dont think you will haveto worry about waiting list because i enquired at grace christian school which is private about chase and they said enroling him the year before he has to go would be fine.
