when do they NEED water too?

i'm just wondering when BF babies start to NEED to drink water? Harper has no interest in it and i don't think he needs it yet...

what age should i start really trying?

I started offering water when my bub started solids or thereabouts - just gave it to her in a sippy cup with her meals.

She was still breastfed until 12 months.

We started giving water at 6 months along with solids.

Oscar drinks loads of water, he loves it.

yep, i offer him a sippy cup after solids but he just plays with it and if he does get a taste of the water, he pushes the cup away!

I guess just keep offering it to him and maybe show him you drinking water?

I guess once they start solids and aren't having enough liquids then they can get constipated.

You are right he doesnt need it, he is still BF so he is still getting fluids.But BM is better than water.I think he will drink it in his own time, just keep offering him water at meal times.

neo is right, wise young thang that she is ;) Breastmilk adjusts to be more watery in hot weather, to provide all bubby's nutritional needs.

Offering water with solids is a really good way to keep teeth and gums clean though, and a great way to start good habits.
