Hi guys haven't posted much lately. So i thought i would take the opportunity to start the new thread and do a huge post at the one time.

Matthew is up and crawling and climbing everywhere. We have had to get some glass cut tp go on the front of our tv cabinet as he keeps getting the dvd player and dp ps3. Little bugger has even figured out what button to push to turn it on and eject the disc.

We now have 5 teeth and 3 more are cutting.

Matt has been sick all weekend again. Red ear, red throat, teething and temperatures. All weekend i think he has had about 5 bottles all up. Poor little bugger couldn't breathe. Friday night he was up every hour just moaning. Your heart just breaks when there is nothing you can do for them.

Luke has just gotten over his 5 bout of tonsillitis and now seems to have a bit of asthma.:banghead: i just can't win at the moment. Hopefully this warmer weather will get rid of all the bugs.:fingerscrossed:

I have some new photos of the boys, but ill be back later to post them as i haven't uploaded them to photobucket yet.

Whoops better go babies a calling.

i feel like an intruder as i haven't been here for a while....

So 5 teeth! Noah has his top two teeth coming down and he looks so funny. i think he'll have a gap between his teeth which will make for some very funny photos. He has also been sick, with constant ear infections. I can't wait for the warmer weather. poor little bubbas.

Audrey is officially sick for the first time! I can hardly believe that we made it to nearly 9 months without getting sick. We've all had a cold and Audrey managed to finally pick it up - she so miserable and whingy.

Lukeandmattsmum i totally hear you about the very few bottles because of blocked nose. Are they talking at all about taking out luke's tonsils? My sil just got out of hospital today with an absess on her tonsils!! Gross - she gave me full details of them lancing it and then proceeded to ask if I wanted to come over for a sleep??? I think she was still under the influence of the drugs!

Thankfully A is still sleeping, just wakes to cough (sounds like a little old man) and then goes back to sleep.

We moved the cot down to the lower level on the weekend; she has been sitting up and trying to pull herself up on the rail so we thought it was time! Also put a new bookcase in her room. It's weird, it really felt like she was growing up and it was her little room. She sat playing on the floor with her toys and moving books from one shelf to another!

We are loving the warmer weather! But dh has already started complaining about the heat!!!!!!

Hello again Owen&Noah's_mum. You are welcome any time!

Reading/books - forgot to metion in my last post that my favorite reading material is also Cameron's. He loves looking at the pictures in my baby/parenting magazines. Very easy to keep him amused in waiting rooms by finding pictures of faces in the mags for him to look at (and drool on and rip and eat....!)

Dropped FIL & partner (honorary MIL) off at the airport this morning, really was a flying visit. C charmed them both and absolutley loved the attention. They couldn't believe the big smiles when we greeted them at the airport as if he recognised them. MIL was delighted that C enjoyed being held and cuddled and played with because when her grandson was a bub he'd scream is she went near him. Had a busy day yesterday. Went to the markets then lunch, then a walk along the Strand (Townsville's foreshore), then ice-cream and finally a drive up to a lookout. We were out and about from about 10 to 3.30 with no nap for C but he was wonderful. Did pay for it with a bit of a restless night last night though.

So was quite a fun weekend and marks the halfway point of DH being away. Only 3 more weeks to go :smiliedance:

Lots of :hugs: for Audrey's first cold Cate.

That'll have to do...C is calling :D

Cat13 its great when they recognise the grandparents....i just realised you are in townsville. we are heading up there for friends wedding next year, any advice on where to stay? they reception is at a restaurant near the river?...Sea Salt? Salt on the Sea....oh something like that. dh just went up for engagement party which was at the same place....said there's a holiday inn right near it....but is it ok?? dh would just say any old hotel is ok.

now i forgot before to discuss my disgusting eating of a block of cadbury dessert lemon cheesecake chocolate.....yum................so much for the diet! but I'm sick so i need comfort food!

and welcome back owenandoahsmum.....i am hanging out for A to get her top teeth...i think top teeth in babies look hysterical!

Can you all tell I'm bored today!!!!

I was thinking the same thing today!. Katies look like that too, maybe its just the way they come down to start? hopefully anyhow lol

Lukeandmattsmum: Yay for the crawling! and the 5 teeth!!!

cate: aww hugs for Audreys first cold, hope its a short mild one. :hugs:
woah! never heard of that chocky but now I want one LOL!
ah dont kick your self hun, a girls got to have some chocolates! we deserve it especially when not well. :hugs:

Cat13: How sweet with the big smiles and cuddles for the grandparents!
Katie charmed our ils over the weekend too, lots of cuddles and much laughter. So cute isnt it, and watching the il's faces.

Not sure if Katies new teeth still hurting or if there is more, woke from 11pm -1230am and nurfoen eased her pain and she finally settled for the night. Again today lots of dribbles and her naps woke screaming and after only 20 mins!
She back in bed at 4pm after some more nurofen as she was so cranky and tired. Going to be a late one tonight and I wanted to clean up a bit more for tomorrow later tonight.

looking forward to tomorrow Perth gals!!!
Mines the little house just before the BIG MANSION! lol. makes mine look even smaller :(
I have a really big brick letter box though

Tabby - Love Katie in your new avatar!

Michael will finally bear his own weight and stand upright now - new trick while we were away without DH up at my Mum's place!

Thanks Sammy :hugs: Cant wait to get proper ribbons in there and not just clips lol
Have some absolutely beautiful ribbons that Charis gave me, antique pink I think it was called, loveliest pink.
Also the clips are holding off the first haircut, she really needs a trim lol
:smiliedance: for Michael standing up!
Sounds like you had a great day lol. Bet you were in awe of the tiny 6 day old in remembering ours back then.

Lukeandmattsmum: Lovely pics! My how hes grown and full of mischief by the looks

Hi Everyone

Cant believe its October already! My b'day is at the end of the month. Another year older

Cate - That choc is so yummy isnt it? I also got the boysenberry shortcake one but havent tried it as yet. Didnt want too after DH & I ate the whole block of the lemon cheescake one. Might wait a few days lol.

Perthies - Hope you have a great meet today. Have fun!

US - Sierra is offically crawling now, started over the last few days but is doing it properly from last night & this morning. Its very cute. Sometimes she forgets to move one leg so moves both at the same time. Looks like she is doing a bunny hop lol. I can still see her whole bottom tooth but it hasnt cut the gum yet. Wont be long. She has grown out of all her clothes in the last week so i've been trying to buy a few things every few days so she has something to wear. I'm not complaining  Love shopping for kid clothes.

Well time to start my housework :( Have a great day.

o dear Charis, you too...I mean Hunter too. Poor you and hope all is well soon.
Tabby I'm REALLY sorry but we're not going to come either as Hamish is still not very well and has a horrible cough which I'm a bit worried about. I'm still not 100% either although we're probably not infectious any more but this has been a nasty bug and I wouldn't want to give it to anyone.
I was really looking forward to seeing everyone again and seeing all those toothies and crawlings!! I'll have to do another meet at my place soon when we are all well.
Hope you have a lovely morning.

Cate, was it "A Touch of Salt"? I think the Holiday Inn (locally referred to as the 'sugar shaker' beacause of it's architecture) is meant to be nice but I've only lived in Townsville since the start of the year so not really an expert on all the attractions yet.

Hope the Perth meet goes well despite the few MIA with colds. Yay for Katie having an early nap so you can prepare Tabby!

On the topic of cadbury dessert chocolates, was not a big fan of the Boysonberry Shortcake but didn't stop me eating the whole block (not all at once - I promise!) I'm hoping the Fudge Brownie flavour waiting for me in the cupboard is nicer! :D

There seem to be two groups emerging, the crawlers and non-crawlers. We are still in the non-crawling group. I have a feeling C will either go straigt to walking too or may end up a hands & feet crawler rather than hands & knees IYKWIM. But he has finally started bearing weight on his legs too.

thanks for making me feel welcome :hugs:. there are too many to quote, i don't know how you all keep up!

the pics are gorgeous and its great to hear how other babies of this are doing.

Noah is comando crawling, he has been since he was about 6 months old and doesn't seem too interested in giving it up. he is into everything too with a special love for cords! When he hears me saying 'no no no' he bolts across the room so fast on those little arms .

these are his little teeth that are finally showing up

Tabby, I hope it all went well and the girls all had fun, really missed it and am v sorry we didn't get there, but every goozy snotty sneeze all day made me remember why. Hamish and Hunter the sicky boys should have hung out. oh well. Yes and for sure a Point Fraser playtime, maybe with takeaway coffee. Miss seeing Katie too!! Hope MouseBrown +TJ and Cordelia and Caitlin could come! Post some shots :) Freddie hope he is getting all well and is getting back to perfect, even tomorrow.

Owen+Noahs Mum, welcome too, though am sure we all remember you from December..06, wow seems so strangely close and distant all at once. Great the boys are going well and the speedy cord crawl makes for good reading. Your signature is great! Kevin07 is a great slogan, it has a touch of the 'no Gary no' retro cheerleading about it. As long as its not Howard08 09 10...

Cat13, Cameron and Hunter still v similar..knees? what are they for, only feet and crawling backwards, so far..but am not super keen on anything happening fast..as am SO unprepared. You can buy these bizarre looking things like a big fat cocoon that your plugs go into, bought one and some corner protectors in the very little foray into preparation.

WOW SammyG, Stand up!! ?? WOW. Good on you Michael. Goodness about the six day old, how amazing!! Gosh so little.

Will have to look at all the recent shots now :) Oh and also will have to rush to a supermarket and find these new Cadbury favours. Naughty girls! :smiliedance:

A lovely lovely nights sleep for all xxxS

Mouse: lovely to catch up! Enjoyed it immensely having you and both the girls here today, some adult conversation outside of the males here is a great change and much looked forward to.
I know Katie enjoyed it too! Was loving the little grabbing of each others toes and conversations + growls at "swapping" toys lol

Charis: Only us and Mouse and the girls today, missed seeing Cordelia and Caitlin as well. Do hope they're ok!!?? Anyone heard from them?
At least we got to chat for a bit via phone! xxx

No pics today, I forgot to be honest lol. Will have to catch up at the park for sure. Some lovely weather coming our way now, and before its too hot. Will actually grab ds1's camera and gets some wonderful photos for all.

DS1 was just here with his camera and took some as usual lovely pics so will upload a couple now to the pic section. Can see her wonderful toothy grin, wow do they come down fast once cut through!
We are venturing out this w.e if weather permits with more sunshine to get some lovely photos done by him. Sunshine and green grass for the perfect back ground and at no cost lol.

well, hope everyone whos unwell is feeling better and not too hard hit by those horrid colds/flu. :hugs:

Hi Ladies,

Not much to report here. Everything is going great. Talon has just cut his 8th tooth:eek: . I’m shocked on how quickly he’s getting them. He’s keeping me busy, crawling and standing everywhere. Pregnancy is going great. I’m 24 weeks. I can’t believe that I’m going to have a newborn in the household in 15 weeks time. This pregnancy has gone so quickly  .

We had our posting changed last Friday:hair: , so instead of going to Darwin we are heading to Perth. So hubby and I have been busy organising stuff and trying to find a school for the girls. We leave Brissy on the 27th October. Just waiting to hear from Defence Housing on what houses are available to us. :fingerscrossed: we should lock down a house today.

I have a question for the Perth ladies. I need some information on hospitals. I’m going public again and just wanting to know which hospy are great and what one’s are dodgy. I had the best birth with Talon and I’m hoping I’ll have another one like that. Any info would be great.

Anyway Talon is asleep so I better get in and do some housework before he gets up again.

Take care
Kel

Strawberry, YAY your coming to Perth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry they changed it for you but am sure youll love it here too. Am looking forward to hopefully meeting you both once your settled in :D Am so excited now! lol

Hospitals: Would have to be King Edward Maternity hospital in Subiaco for me, they have a birthing suite off to the side or the main labour rooms in the hosp, the fact that they let me try to VB Katie even though she was breech ( most hosp's wont let you attempt) and even though we ended up c-sec they made it just as special for us. The before care was great too and the after care was fabulous!
Also..I ended up at their fetal monitoring unit a few times during pregnancy and had nothing but the best care and loveliest ladies to ease my mind.
When I bled twice through it they were very attentive too.
highly recommended from me.
Will be going back there with no4 (hopefully) as they do let you VBAC which is what I want.

A quiet one here today for us, DP has been on a later start of 830 so has been lovely to have him here when the little miss first wakes and has breaky etc. Wish he had that shift more often, better than the 6am start.

anyhow better go, phone just rang and mum and dad are coming over, he has some plants for my back garden, which is great as it really needs them after our pup killed off ALL the back yard lol. Oh and transplant some lawn in a few days too. Want it nice for Katie when shes walking etc and got some swings.

LOL Strawberry. These days I don't believe a posting order until we actually arrive in our new location. Same thing happened to me last year, we were 99.9% guaranteed we'd be staying in Sydney and then in November it got changed to Townsville. Perth is great though, you'll love it. :fingerscrossed: we have some friends getting posted to Townsville next year with a bub exactly 3 months younger than C.

Thanks for the lovely visit yesterday Tabby. I had two girls asleep on the way home (and in the carport for a while after too).
Hope C, H and H are feeling better today.

Yah Strawberry, another Perthie would be great! Sorry can't comment on public hospitals for you.

TJ's teeth are giving her curry again. But after both Nurofen and Paedamon (she's developed a cough from no-where) last night she slept from 11-5.15.

Lovely day here in Perth, just a shame I have to work.....

Teeth: everyone has so many teeth. Clea is slowly getting there with 3.

Just as I thought I had some time to write Dh is hassling me to get ready to go for a walk. okay will try again later.

Its only the 3rd today and there is already 3 pages to catch up on plus the stuff i missed at the end of the september thread!!

We got to go up to my mums on the weekend which was lovely. Havent been up there since before Macy was born. I love it cause its so nice and quiet and Mum does everything for me!!

It really is time to start babyproofing here. Macy was at the computer desk tonight and pulled out all the CD's she could get her hands on. She is crawling all over the place - even the one step we have in the house and is standing up everywhere. She has even let go a couple of times and stood by herself.

Hubby had a funny story tonight - he said that Macy was sitting on the floor playing with the ipod cable thats plugged into the computer and was sucking on it when a message came up on the computer that the USB port wasnt connected properly! haha Macy's sucking made the computer think she was a USB port

Sorry no personals, its hard when there is so much stuff to catch up on. I am thinking of everyone and our babies turning into little people. Hope you all have a great week

Yah for Mousebrown, sounds like a lovely meet for just girls.. :( Still so v sorry Tabby. Hope Hamish and Caitlin if she's still sick are getting all better too. H no longer hot+clammy, but one little button nose is certainly the conduit for a LOT of snot.

StrawShortcake also WELCOME over here too:smiliedance: Gosh that is some short notice on location!! It must be quite a mind set to get used to. I'd also second Tabby on King Edward Maternity Hospital, the main maternity hospital, great place, I also tried to birth at the Birthing Centre attached but I also was transferred. Excellent care too. Hear Osborne Park is also good?? Talon certainly has a lot of teeth! Just 4 here. Congrats on the pregnancy going along well, truly inspiring!

Speaking of teeth, is anyone else having a recurrence of breastfeeding nips!?? Might be that H is tired and sick at the mo, but nips yesterday and today, despite the clear N O and then stopping.

Dragonflyblu great to hear from you, saw you've posted photos so will have a look after this..and Tabby too. So lovely seeing all our little ones grow up.

KorahBlue lovely hearing about Macy and standing up on your only step oh yikes oh yikes.. the USB port is great!

MouseBrown hope TJs teeth are settling down and the cough is getting better. Does DD1 realise it is show week? Are you going??

Well better work now! Still overpromising and underdelivering. You;d think 8.5months, I'd be used to it. I would be much better at it if I remembered how I feel every night at this time of day when I actually do the work :) eck how's your Cat13+ Flicka?

HI everyone,
Just a quick one as i have to get DD2 off to kinder soon.

Sierra has been crawling around alot. Yesterday her tooth finally cut thru... :yelclap: First tooth & she stood up by herself for the first time. So shes had a pretty busy week with crawling, a tooth & standing up. Having her professional photos done on saturday. Cant wait for them.

Have a great day.

Clever little Sierra, don't they like to do everything at once? Hope your photos go well, I had pixie photos done of DS1 last week and got a few of M and one absolute beauty of the two boys together! $$$$$$$ Actually I was better than last year and took the smallest 5 photo package!

Charis, Hope H stops nipping very quickly - OUCH!

Us, Well M has decided to wake up at the very 1st sliver of light which was 4:30am this morning. I ignored him and he may have dozed off but he certainly played for a while first - making quite a racket. Can't wait for Daylight Saving, maybe it will make a difference!

lol Sammy 430 am!!! yeeks, Is his room dark enough? Maybe some blockout curtains for you?
Hope its not a recurring theme and sleeps a bit longer next time.
Speaking of such, must get those curtains REAL soon here too, is only a matter of time as sun rises her window and only a light blind up at the mo.

tiredmummy: woah what a clever girl, sounds like you have your hands full there. yay for the first toothy peg too!

Charis: Glad H is a bit better although full of snot as you say lol. Hopefully just a short cold!
Has anyone heard from Cordelia yet????? quite worried now considering C was unwell and now we havnt heard for a while.

korahblue: Going to your mums sounds like when we go the il's, a bit of a drive country but well worth it, everything done for us and quite the array of food as shes a awesome cook. Have only been twice but thats cos katies not keen in the car longer than 20 mins lol.

Was telling ds1 how I wanted to borrow his camera if/when we Perthies meet up at a park soon as it takes such great quality pics, almost studio like and hes offered to take that day off and take pics galore! just like a hired photographer, lap top as well so you can have the ones you like transfered to dvd/cd and take home ( if you want). He has a huge interest in making photography more than a hobby so would be a great experience for him, if thats ok by everyone that hes there????

hello lovely ladies!!
it has been a while for me - trying to maange full time work, Geoffrey, and new preganncy is proving to be v. tiring!!
Geoffrey is almost 10 months old now - he is a fast crawler and is pulling himself up to a standing position on the couch and our legs (constantly around our legs!!)
I am really enjoying this age - such beautiful smiles and curious looks and giggles :smiliedance:

sorry i have been so slack in writing, will get better i promise!

MouseBrown hope TJs teeth are settling down and the cough is getting better. Does DD1 realise it is show week? Are you going??

DD1 has no idea about the show, the fact that it is on or what it would be about, and I'm not about to change that. The last time we went to the show (DH and I) was with friends and their two little ones, what a nightmare! We might go to the Wanneroo or Osbourne Park show if I get motivated and DH is home.

We were up twice last night -though I can't recall what times. I think it's more teeth related than anything. She's not eating as much dinner, which means she gets hungry during the night. Will try and remember to give her Nurofen when we get home today so it has time to kick in before dinner.

Sorry Perth ladies for yesterday - sounds like they're were a few sickies... as for me I have tonsillitis again and Caitlin was at my Mum's. I would have let you know but I thought it was next week. :banghead: Hope you all had a great time. Thanks for remembering me.

Re: photography - sound sgreat to me. What kind of camera does he have Tabby? We're saving up for a nice one at Christmas. *fingers crossed*.. really like to get some nice shots of Caitlin. Pixifoto is not as cheap as it once was!

Yay Strawberry!! (re perth).. I would 3rd king edward - they're the place to have a baby! I have heard some terrible stories about Armadale lately (including mine). Do you know where you'll be living?

Anyway, Caitlin going fabulously (although those teeth have gone away again @%) crawling EVERYWHERE ... DH has quit his job despite them wanting to give him a 25k payrise!! (I know we sound stupid but the hell they were giving him was not worth the extra $$) and tomorrow, if I feel up to it he is taking me out for our 4th wedding anniversary which is... today!!! I've been such a mess with sick again I'm feeling kind of bad about him goping thru all this work stuff so I'd better go out and buy him some wedding anniversary cashews or something.

Cordelia: Glad to hear from you! DS has a VERY expensive cannon camera, and hes just paid $150 for another lens! Hes still learning but his pics are certainly getting better, Hes really looking forward to it and just asked me on msn when it might be lol Like I said he will also take the lap top and yous can take home pics and off to a photo lab to get done or just on your comps.
I agree professional pics are just SO expensive now and am sure we can get some great ones, maybe the burswood casino park where we can find LOTS of beautiful backgrounds and the river. Will be good weather too for dressing them up for it.
C is crawling?!!! What a clever gal!

hope your feeling way better by tomorrow and have a lovely time out for your anniversary.

jacstar: wow another crawler lol what a smart fella! Glad to hear your both well, although a bit pregnancy tired, hope that goes away soon for you xx

Mouse: Katie went totally of her solids too with the teeth for about a week, she upped the bottle instead. Hope they cut through soon and give you some better nights again.

Hey Charis, was just going to ask you how the work was going too. Not tooooo bad here but very slow going at times and lots of procrastination. I actually think it's going to be even harder when DH is back home because I've been doing most work after dinner but that's usually our 'us' time, even if it is just watching TV. I also find I've been having a few late nights, not necessarily because of work but in order to have some 'me' time after spending a whole day alone with C juggling mummying, housekeeping & work. I probably could do more work during the day while C is playing/exploring but I find it hard to concentrate and feel like I'm neglecting him even if he's quite happy amusing himself.

Went to baby rhymes session at the library today. Not sure C pays much attention to the rhymes but he loves all the new & different faces. He is such a show-off. Was flirting with the checkout girl at the supermarket after we did our grocery shopping with him sitting upright in the trolley like a big boy for the first time. A bit wobbly but probably good for his balance! He gets so much attention when we are out and about now, usually for his crazy hair, big blue eyes or big cheeky smile. I'm sure the cheekiness comes from DH, I was always a shy little mouse. :geek:

Photo session sounds fun Tabby. Pity I'm on the other side of the country. The pixie photos are expensive but we bought the whole package so we coudl share with all the family. Supposedly I did receive a discount as winner of a raffle at the Natural Baby Expo but I suspect maybe everyone who entered the raffle got the same phone call!

Hope you are feeeling better soon Cordelia. :hugs:And Happy Anniversary!!

School hols over and should be quiet there too.
We will go regardless as he has been harping for me to dress K up and take her pic but thought a few of us could try again to meet up soon.
All you need is a dvd or cd for your pics.

Strawberry, I am very jealous over here! We are squashing in a tiny 2 bedroom unit with M in our room. Can't justify $500+ a week rent just yet when we really are ok (position is great) Sydney is so darn expensive but it's where DH's work is!

Tabby, if daylight saving doesn't make a difference with M I am going straight out to get super strength block-out curtains. I have them in DS1's room and he used to sleep in till 8 but gets woken up with me and M these days. Your DS1 is quite handy with the camera, I love the 'over the shoulder' shot.

Happy sleeps to everyone, M had a massive dinner so hope he sleeps longer! 2 cubes chicken/veg with half an avacado and a tbsp ricotta, followed by tub of yoghurt, jar of fruit jelly and half an arrowroot bikkie. Then his usual 100mls formula (won't take anymore) Does that seem like a lot of food?

Sammy, I tired the lay down way in the bath and Katie was not impressed . Back into the bath seat after I quickly washed hair and all was well again.
Will do that earlier with the next bub as I think it was just because we havnt done it till now.

A park photoshoot meet is such a lovely idea Tabby and as I pm-ed back, be so great to meet your DS1 too! Yes the 18th sounds perfect. Thanks for suggesting it and giving us another chance! :) Shots of Katie are great, so close + clear. One of my mates got into being a photographer for bands and also sport events last year, loves it! And was thinking about stopping his day job. So good luck for your DS1, definitely a good way to love what you do.

MouseBrown lol about DD1 not knowing about the show, all good!! There is certainly enough time for that. Sorry to hear about TJ and wakes. Hunter is also becoming a bit inconsolable in the early hours, I no longer look at the time either..thought it was nasty cold related..he hops into my bed, but think this is a cycle that is worth beginning to break.

Sammy G I love the ongoing courses for dinner :) Know the feeling. The main seems about the same as H normally eats, YAH and got his appetite back today..but the rest is certainly upping it. All good, they sure are little powerhouses!

Cordelia, poor thing, sorry to hear about your tonsilitis. Hope you're feeling better soon. Great that Caitlin can hang out at your Mums! Yep agree $ need to equal job satisfaction, esp at the moment over here. So many opportunities for work, it seems. Eck..speaking of which might be worth going straight back to teaching and take the family to the country $70K!! Announced today. Wow.But its probably not all what it sounds?

StrawShort Congrats on the purchase, as you know Ellenbrook has excellent 'amenity', I think thats what its called, great parks, excellent for walking to places in the suburb. 'Vale' and 'Averley' is a v new bit of it and is also v nice. Great new places. Have a carpenter who lives there.

Cat13, also our day for Baby Rhyme time too! Ok so we were 15mins late after having a hard work call just before it..but lovely to have some Mum-Bub time and great to see all the other bubs. Lots of crawlers in ours now. Does your library hand out rattles for the duration? H just sucks his the whole time and sometimes giggles when he recognises the songs. He was in quarantine from getting close to any others today, but after a week of not seeing any other parents or bubs and too much work was essential for me! As for work, yes, I agree, I find it very difficult to concentrate on computer work or paperwork when they are awake. Pity am too apathetic or is it tired, now at night :) Oh your weekend and FIL/honoraryMIL visit sounded just lovely.

Freddie, hope H is getting much better. How is the bub proofing/stairs/kitchen reno?? I have a builder who's built over the boundary!! How's that for silly :)

Well we're off to stay at my sisters in the country for the weekend, yah, really probably a holiday, if only I can find the time to pack tomorrow. he he.

Charis: Glad you can make it that day! oh and DS1 also said last night hes about to enrol in photography classes, two of them ( forget which) at the end of the month, He would make a great photographer imo, he has a lovely personality to go with it too, so who knows..maybe.
Hes still learning ( and getting to know the camera) so is still trial and error but usually of 20 snaps we get 3-4 really lovely ones so not bad for a beginner. I put some more up on my album last night as he purchased new accessories from Hongkong that just arrived and he wanted to try lol
Hope you do manage to pack and get off to the country for the w.e, am sure you well deserve it and a break would be lovely for you both.

K was awake at like 530!! I let her stay there chatting away though till 615 lol. Then it got to more than chatter and more a COME GET ME OUT MUM!!
so shes back in bed now for nap time.

Freddie: Hope you and Hamish are feeling better! :hugs:
mouse: hopefully had a better night.

freddie
05-10-2007, 10:00 AM
thanks for the kind thoughts everyone, we're getting better but Hamish still has a nasty cough. I took him to the Dr yesterday and he's on a small dose of Brauer's cough mix for kids which seems to be working. He's also popping up teeth left, right and centre... well bottom and bottom left...but night's haven't been too bad considering. I could still do with a decent sleep one of these days!

Well I hear you all about work. I have a job to do and am finding it difficult to get motivated in this gorgeous weather, also impossible to do while H is awake. So why am I on bub hub now and not working??? will have to make this a quick one and :fingerscrossed: will get an hour in this morning while simultaneously doing a cook up for the little gourmand!!

Sorry Tabby I don't think I can make next Thursday which is a shame. I arranged just yesterday to see family who are visiting from England, and we finally have our 8 month check up..bit late I know.

Charis, still no movement here on any of the jobs on the home front, I think I'll have to earn a bit of $ first! DH has a new job, started this week, with a little bit more $ which is good! and much more interesting than the last one. Cordelia, I know what it's like to have a DH who hates his job so good on yours for quitting for better things. Good time to do it hopefully.

oh, and congrats on the anniversary too to Cordelia and hope your tonsils sort themselves out soon.

more later gals, I've got to attend to some lentils and veges then hit the drawing board.

Freddie: Is it next Thrusday or the 18th youve planned? cos its 2 weeks away not the "next" one. hopefully youve just mixed it up and are free and able to come:thumbsup:

Poor little Hamish, hope hes feeling better soon, this lovely sun we are having lately will surely help ease all the colds/flus now.
Hope you get that good nights sleep soon :hugs:

I should be off doing things too but have just dled picasa photo shop so having fun with the pics, removing red eye and some resizing lol and it allows me to directly upload to my online album.
Also have had a headache for 3 days and now a slight temp has hit! hope its nothing much, have been lucky this yr so far.

yes! you're right Tabby, its next I'm busy so I can come!! yay. Hope this lovely weather holds out for us.

Well I went to do some work in the hour and a half Hamish was in bed and the second I sat down I had a phone call which took up all the time...sigh...audit questions for the organisation I'm Treasurer for and I don't have a clue. I only did the job cos I'm a mug and no-one else would. He's me at 8 months preggie going 'ok, I'll do it but I don't know anything about finance and I don't know what its like to look after a new baby' - and they all went 'yeah yeah, great, no probs' just so they wouldn't have to do it! And no proper hand over either as the President and past Treasurer are in Sydney and the Secretariat is in Melbourne so its all by email or over the phone.

well would you know, a huge pile of toys in the lounge room and Hamish wants to play with: power cords, gas heater, video, lamp, guitar case. Basically, anything that isn't a toy. The box of plastic containers in the kitchen is quite popular too.

This crawling business is crazy, what will it be like when they're running around!!???

...... if I feel up to it he is taking me out for our 4th wedding anniversary which is... today!!! I've been such a mess with sick again I'm feeling kind of bad about him goping thru all this work stuff so I'd better go out and buy him some wedding anniversary cashews or something.

Hope you're feeling better and good enough to go out for your anniversary. I had a  yesterday and realised our 9th ann is next week (DH away though).

Finally locked down a house today. Brand new 4 bedroom house at Ellenbrook

Yah! Ellenbrook isn't too far from us.

Sounds like M can pack it away like TJ. Last night she had a Boost vege pkt with about 2 tblsp pasta then a weetbix followed up by a little tin of custard.

This crawling business is crazy, what will it be like when they're running around!!???
Pure hell. Either baby proof everywhere, or learn to close doors after you and fence off an area if necessary.

Tabby...I've been taking photos for years and Baby/kids photos are always 3-4 good ones out of 20 or so shots. With still photography the art is the make up of the shot, with kids it comes down to pure timing. Your DS1 is doing well. Sorry I can't make the park meet, but hope everyone has fun.

A real crappy night last night. Woke at 10.30, 2.30, 2.30, cried out at 3.30 and then woke at 7 (after me having to get up for work at 6). Don't know if she had too much dinner or it's just teeth again.

TJ spent about 15 minutes standing at the lounge last night without tumbling. I turned around at one stage and she went from sitting some distance from the lounge to standing up at it.

We've also got the Ta-ta wave (full arm action) and words going at the moment and is starting to get the hang of clapping. Though it's only so often that her two hands actually meet:p .

Have a great weekend,
Lisa

Mouse: jeeze, what a night! Hope thats the last whatever was wrong.
wow standing so long! Guess she will be a early walker too by the sounds of it.

Freddie: Glad youll be able to make it now!
LOL I was just trying to encourage K to crawl ( advice from mouse on Tue: Stop passing her toys!!!) hahha I really didnt realise I did it that much! Thought I was helping her out when really am hindering her attempt to reach things. You think I would know!
anyhow...I do not pass anything now! Mouse!
Now you make me wonder freddie why Im in a rush for her to crawl LOL..
as Mouse says, really just get it all out of the way and what you cant you need to block off, and SHUT doors! lol fun fun to come!

Katie has been saying a sort of "ga" word last few days and finally got what it is! CAR!!!
We are always out the front and she loves watching the cars go by and I always say "car".
She kept saying it every time a car went past. :yelclap:

Oh diarrhea again! She wasnt settling and went in to check... poooooeeee. last time it was teeth so must be more as nothings changed diet wise etc.

LOL Tabby. I think I'm guilty of the toy passing too. But if I don't the frustrated whinging drives me mad. Actually been a bit better lately. He's managing to get to things on his own and he's alot happier. Not quite sure how he gets to them because there's definitely no crawling, not even commando style. He sorta just rolls and twists and squirms his way around until he gets where he wants to be. Which lately is under the futon sofa.......

Charis, the baby rhymes session at our library is only new. They were expecting 15 or so to turn up last week and got 70! A few less this week but enough so that they are putting on an extra session next week. I find it good to refresh me on all the rhymes I'd long forgotten!

:fingerscrossed: for a better night Mouse.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Cat: forgot, we do have a bum shuffle since last night, put her one place on her bum and she ended up about 2 foot closer to ds1 about 10 mins later.

Today Katie spent heaps of time on her tummy and was quite happy to, also more lifting her back up and the rocking thing.

That bout of diarrhea ended up another one later and it burnt her bum SO BAD! She was in tears while I wiped it off and it was so red, bath and lots of cream on and a hr nappy free so hopefully doesnt get worse over night. Shes woken 2 times already, not sure if its the bum or what. So I just changed her and reapplied cream.

Hi

Tabby - Poor Katie - hope she is feeling better!

Sorry I have been MIA for a while....

All of the bubs seem to be on the move or almost there. Tabby and Cat - I have the same problem at my house regarding passing toys to Kelsey - but it is DS who is at her beck and call. She just squeals to him and he comes running! I have been trying to stop him doing everything fo her but he just loves Kelsey so much.

Kelsey is improving on the crawling front - she actually moved a few paces crawling today but she's very slow and wobbly. And then she wouldn't put on a repeat performance for dad!! She still loves standing or kneeling at the toy box - it keeps her occupied for ages.

Well, I'd better got to bed.

take care

HI everyone

Tabby - Poor Katie & her burnt bum. Its really not nice for them. Sierra has has bad poo's for the last few days & its been everywhere. Out the top & back of her nappy. So gross. She seems to do it at around 6-6:30am, great thing to wake up to.

Flicka - Great that Kelsey is almost crawling. :yelclap:

Us - Well Sierra is crawling everywhere & trying to stand up in the middle of her crawling lol. She is trying to pull herself up on everything now. Her tooth has come thru a bit more, it looks cute. She has been a bit of a grumpy bum the last few afternoons, not sure if its her teeth or if just tired etc. Having her photos done today, cant wait. I just cant decide what outfit to dress her in. I'm going to take a few with me so i can change her lol. We are going to the same company that did her birth/hospital photos so i know they are good. Well better get organised.

Have a great weekend.

Flicka: Is Kelsey up on all fours or more a commando crawl? Yesterday I noticed Katie moved forward a bit via the commando, not far though, just enough to reach her toy.:yelclap:
How cute of ds1 with his rushing to help her.awww

TiredMummy: Yep we have the wakeup poo here every morning too and its always a really icky one! lol
Lots of cream last night and again this morning and its eased enough to not be hurting, well not like last night where she wouldnt sit it was so sore.
A bit more nappy free time later today and should be ok.
Your bad poos are probably teeth related too by the sounds of it and shes cranky as well. Hope they come right out soon so shes feeling better
Katie gets horrid poos when teething

wow standing up in the middle of crawling, doesnt sound like walking is far off??!!

Off to get a new high chair soon as the one I had is old and not very comfy and yesterday the strap broke, this one is on sale at toysrus and only $99 sale, looks Very comfy! ill take a pic once home and set up.

Hope everyone is well and some good sleep all round. A few wakes last night for Katie but that was expected with wee stinging her poor bum..so two nappy changes and she was happy.

Can't believe the time, stayed up finishing a novel. What will I read over breakfast tomorrow? I'm one of those people that has anxiety attacks if I don't have a book to read! I always have a book in my bag, can manage to read a few pages whenever I sit down long enough to eat, which is often! And bedtime of course, DH doesn't get much of a look-in I'm afraid! He's out having a drink tonight anyway!

Tabby, very impressive looking chair. I have 2 hand-me-downs that are extremely basic but easy to clean. Only problem is they don't recline at all so have used the bouncer on the coffee table till last week when we finally graduated to the chair.

We have discovered the swing on our balcony is good for distracting M in his last 1/2 hour or so of the day when he is fractious. Tonight he couldn't make it past 6:30pm for bedtime, he looked so relieved when I put him in bed!

Happy sleeps everyone!

Been away for another week, finally home again now. Not the best week away this time. Josh is still crawling and saying dada quite often, but he got a bad cold, cough and this morning he had diarrhoea too. We ended up in emergency on Friday night as he'd been screaming for hours. Of course he fell asleep as we drove there and again whilst we waited for the doctor. It turned out it was just a red throat that was causing the trouble. He's slept most of the weekend and seems to finally be improving a little.

dh & I are both sick too, so it's been a hard weekend. Dh's grandpa died this morning too. We had planned to see him yesterday as we were away when he went to hospital, but with all of us sick, we deferred our trip to Tuesday, but he died this morning. We couldn't have managed the hour long drive to hospital yesterday, so we don't regret not going, but it's a pity.

Poor dh, it's 2 weeks since his birthday and his family were going to celebrate it today and my family tomorrow, but we've had to cancel both celebrations.

I haven't had a chance to read through all the posts, but I hope that you are all well and the bubs are continuing to do all sorts of new things!

Sorry for your familiy's loss Mim and hope you are all in good health again soon.

Arachel2, Cameron has been having cheese in his meals for a little while but haven't given it to him on it's own yet. No real reason, just haven't got around to it.

Quick question/activity for fun for those with a Jan bub and a ruler handy. How long are your bubs feet? Everyone always comments on how long C's are but there's no 'foot' chart in the baby book LOL and I'm curious. Does C really have long feet or do they just look long because they (and he) are skinny?! At 8months3weeks his are 11cm long from heel to top of big toe. He's average length and below average weight.

And if he does have long feet I wonder what that means :detective: .....probably nothing but be nice if it meant he'll be taller than his mum and dad. I'm a shrimp and DH is probably on the short side of average.

Ooops...gotta go. C may not be crawling (trying hard but failing miserably) but he's still managed to squirm over to his latest obsession, the vertical bilnds.

Hope your all feeling better soon.

arachel2: Katie has been having cheeses since 6 months ( the age where its okay) small chunks of soft cheddar as finger food and cheese sauces for veg or tuna casserole, grated cheese in vegies too.
also cream cheese on cruskits or in a sandwich.

Mim - sorry to hear about DH's grandpa - tough time for your DH and his family.

Sammy - That post you wrote about reading ALL of the time could have been about me!!! I am exactly the same - I NEED to have a book to read. Like you i stayed up and finished one earlier in the week and then had nothing to read....very annoying. Thanks for the idea of philly cheese in veges - hadn't though of that!

Tabby - no more crawling from Kelsey here. She is rocking back and forth and is able to pull herself from sitting down onto her tummy....but that's it. She tries to commando crawl but seems to end up going backwards! However she is getting better at sitting and playing alone for longer - I even relaxed and read a magazine the other morning while both of the kids played happily.

Cat - hmmm - now I'm curious about foot length too. And I can confirm to all of you ladies that Cameron really does have very long slender feet...will measure Kelsey tomorrow.

Cheese - I have been putting cheese in kelsey's dinner since about 7 months. Also have made a cheese sauce a few times to go with veges. I also give thin slices of cheese and pieces of cheese stick broken up. IMO the sooner they can do finger food - the better!

Well, I have a mountain of folding to do before bed (and my book, Sammy!).

Take care

What do you like to read Flicka? I read almost anything, just got thru a few Penny Vincenzi so I am a bit over WW1 & 2 and have just started 'The Manny' by Holly Peterson. Then I will be out to get the latest crime thriller by James Patterson.

Tried some chunkier food with M today, mashed instead of pureed. He gagged a bit and it took ages but we will persevere, I am determined M will be a better eater than DS1(although from past experience they do their own thing and still manage to grow somehow)

Lukeandmattsmum

Then I will be out to get the latest crime thriller by James Patterson.

Ah i love James Patteson crime thrillers. I have to go an get his latest one. I also like his womens murder club ones that he writes.

We had a preatty boring weekend didn't get up to much at all. Probably should of done some house cleaning but just couldn't be bothered. So now i will have to do it tomorrow.

Matt has now got 6 teeth and two more cutting. He will look quite funny if his other 2 teeth don't cut straight away as he has the 2 top and bottom in the middle and his top right eye and bottom left eye teeth.

I think Matthew must be going through a growth spurt as he doesn't stop eating.

I have the same here with my boys Sammy. Luke lives on air. He is a complete shocker at eating. So i am determined that Matt will experience all foods. Although when i think back Luke tried everything, it is just he got stubborn as he got older. Hmmm hopefully Matthew will be my little eater.

Anyways that is enough:ecomcity: :ecomcity: from me. Hope everyone is keeping well.

Tabby...hope Katies poor bum is having a better day today. :smiliedance: for starting to crawl.
Flicka...DD1 was too much of help until I explained that TJ eouldn't learn to crawl if she gave hr things all the time. Today it's been..TJ won't learn to balance by herself..I think it will be a reoccuring theme.
Mim...Sympathy to your DH on the passing of his Grandpa.
Cat...Vertical blinds are cetainly tempting to little fingers. I'm lucky, in TJ's roaming room, I've got romans so can lift them out of her reach.
Sammy...Another book freak here. Pre-kids I often had two books on the go at once. At one stage I was ready two trillogies at once. One Gabaldon and and a Sci-fi.
Finger food...TJ's latest trick is dropping stuff over the side. Dog loves it when she's eating outside.

Another horrendus night last night. Poor TJ was constipated and had pains in her tummy all night. Seemed I was up every 30 mins, an hour at the longest. She was up at 5.15 and as I resettled her at 6.30, DD1 woke...AAARRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHH:hair: . She's had three poo's today, so here's hoping we have a better night.

hope you have a better night tonight Mouse :fingerscrossed:

Katie has vomited about 4 times in the last 2 days, came after that one spurt of diarrhea that burnt her bum, Its not unless shes gagged on food (last night dinner)or like this arvo going to sleep, she got that upset she threw about half her bottle up. Its rather odd really...maybe nausea but things like gag and upset are setting it off?
The gag last night made her whole dinner come backup! Shes been terrible to get to sleep too.
9pm and just down after some nuforen and cuddle with a fight to sleep. have a feeling am in for a doozy of a night. Oh and during her bath she kept gagging..As usual though shes fairly happy in between bouts. No idea whats up!
oh and milk and solids intake are down, which is expected when unwell.
:fingerscrossed: its a short one whatever it is!

Better go, have a feeling will need what sleep i can get.

Mouse, I have read & reread almost everything by Diana Gabaldon. I also like fantasy like Juliet Maurillier (based on celtic mythologies) and am waiting for her next one too!

Very weird, I was reading 'The Other Boleyn Girl' ????? It was a few books ago, anyway turns out a friend at scrapbooking was a direct descendant of the family (the sister of Anne Boleyn) and therefore related to royalty! I thought that was pretty cool!

V sorry to hear about yr DH's grandpa Mim, so hard and that you are both sick at this time too.

Also to hear about Katie, sounding unwell. Tabby you said you;ve got a temp, poor hon!! :hugs: maybe she's got a tummy bug or tummy ache?? Hope all better v soon.

Freddie I so hear you about work..but am in DENIAL about crawling..he he. I know exactly that 'an hour to work' and then one phone call can take up the entire time. In the first couple of weeks these were the worst.. what am I saying, they are always the worst! Great the Hamish is getting his cough to an end..I hope.

Cat13, you made me want to rush to H's cot with ruler in hand and measure away. I did giggle with your, 'what does big feet mean', I think the answer after some lewd wink wink, nudge nudge is 'big socks' ..yes a very lame joke :) I will measure H's tomorrow.

Yikes and 70 adults+bubs at RHYME time WOW, that would've been a shock for the library. are they mostly around C's age?

As for cheese, yes we're into it for sauces/grated/cottage cheese, must try ricotta and philly also. yum.

Did the just cooked sticks of butternut pumkpin as a 'side dish' tonight..certainly became a 'side dish' a 'floor dish', a 'make patterns-when-its-all-mushed-on-high-chair tray-dish'. I guess it gets worse before it gets better?? He enjoyed it!

MouseBrown, v sorry to hear about TJ and your broken sleeps.

Well yes Hunter and I got away on Fri, packing the car in about 12mins rushing to a meeting and then leaving just around his sleep time, for the 2hr drive. Was v nice, though the 'holiday' nature of things has certainly changed, hasn't it! But H enjoyed watching chooks.

Eck but forgot the GROBAG and because he was in a new place, had had a 2hr arvo sleep while I drove, and was not in his grobag, I tried for 3hrs to put him to sleep!!!!!!! All while my sis had a roast sitting at the table. Had to have some interludes of eating.. Much better now home!

Oh and I think I've lost the little cuddly boy, if he ever was one, he's now V strong and also sometimes v wilful. Oh and is NIPPING, its been about 4days and usually when tired, and I do the whole 'N O' and stop feeding, then there is a complete tanty.. Actually am a bit resistant to wanting to feed..no longer like the feeling with 2xtop and 2xbottom teeth just sitting there waiting. Hmm anyone else in the same ouchy situation?

AS for books Flicka and SammyG, Luke+Matts Mum, yes just the same, if I am getting to the end of a book, greedily, I get struck with a small paNIC of what am I going to read next. I usually read while b-fing and of course before bed. H also gets v upset when his books 5-10pages get to the end...and they often start straight over again to abate the Waah Waah. :ecomcity:

xxxnight night.

Charis; hmm minds think alike as I was thinking the umm big socks too when I read it:laughing: !
Pity you forgot the grobag, iL's are only a hr away but find every trip there horrid, hates the car longer than 20mins, never sleeps well so we pay for it when home. Hope H settled for the night okay last night after his big w.e.
LOL @ the pumpkin.

Thanks Sammy: Yep totally not like her. Hopefully is just a tummy bug, though no-one else affected, I had a temp other day but now fine...

Last night was okay, no wakes but she woke at 430 am!!!!!!!!!! Still awake as there was no going back to sleep, shes SOOOooo tired though. In the cot now and chatting away so hopefully will drift off as shes not a happy gal, wont sit floor/pram anything, even on my knee shes grizzling away :(
Hope this doesnt go on for long.

Off to make a coffee to get me through!

Hi everyone,

Hope you're all lovely... even iwth this awful Perth weather - it was just so beautiful on the w/e - what happened!!!

We have a tooth! Poor little girl was up 5 times night b4 last - but at least we got a result FINALLY! And the crawling is going mad - she's pulling herself up on stuff now.

Tabby - unfortunately that Thurs is 1 of 2 days DH has off in between his new and old job so we're planning on doing something special. Hopefully the weather is beautiful for soem great photos. We are saving up for a Canon SLR for Christmas - so excited. I love photography - but yeah, the lenses are so expensive!!

Strawberry: We have lots of friends in Ellenbrook - they love living there! And I used to teach at Ellenbrook PS which was lovely. Mmm you'll be spending half your time at all those delicious wineries, chocolate/cheese/icecream factories, restaurants that are right on your doorstep!

btw Charis - yes the 70k for 1st year teachers is a take - what about trying to retain some of the experienced teachers that are leaving in droves!!! Hardly a blossoming career move being a teacher these days is it!! [don't get me started] grrrr

Well I'm off to find a gate or 2 as I can't keep track of Caitlin crawling everywhere - went to a swap meet at Belmont yesterday and had a fight over one with a lady - she won :( $20!!! I think I'm too timid - I let her snatch it off me.

Hey Cat, very funny about the feet. It must be a perth thing but I'm on the same wave length as Tabby and Charis!! Hamish's feet are about the same - 11/12 cm (its a bit hard to keep him still enough to check properly). I think its normal....

well I had a whole lot of stuff I was going to write but I got distracted and now I've forgotten it all so it will have to come later.

I measured josh's feet ... 10.8cm. He's a lot better today, but still far from back to normal. Oh, he's coughed himself awake, gotta go!

hi! i hope no one minds if i join in? my name is bec and i have a dd Tayah-born on the 14th jan. i cannot believe how fast time has gone! since she was five months, she has been much happier, used to cry lots and get bored in the beginning. She is a real mummys girl, and doesnt really like other people holding her-but is happy enough for you to play on the floor with her. She has been mobile for the last month and a half-not crawling, but moving like a seal! was quite funny. In the last week she has started crawling and today it is all crawl and no seal! She is pulling herself up on everything and has just learnt to clap and put her hands up in the air when yo say horay! my husband and i own a business so Tayah and i work there full time. (just started to get half a day off a week for our sanity) It was very hard in the beginning but we are used to it now(most days). i get bored a lot, (so does she) but there is not much we can do!

hi lovemyprincess and tayah. Welcome!! Glad to see you found your way here!:smiliedance:

Sammy - I have been reading lots of really light stuff lately - something to relax me b4 sleep. Just finished the Sophie Kinsella "Shopaholic" series - very funny. have also been reading Lesley Pearce - mostly historical romance but a good bedtime read. Must try a Penny Vincenzi now that you said they were good. I am also like Mouse - often have 2 books on the go. Whenever it is xmas or my b'day I always say 'get me a book voucher'.

Mouse - thanks for the suggestion about my prob of DS helping Kelsey all of the time. I have been trying it today and he has been leaving her alone - mostly sitting in front encouraging her to crawl which is nice!

Oh darn, forgot to do a foot measure tonight. Will try to remember tomorrow.

Tabby - hope katie is feeling better. Poor little girl.

Well, my DS is driving me nuts. DH is on night shift which = terrible nights at home. DS wakes up crying/moaning "I want my daddy". I have been getting up so many times a night that I have lost count. Hope it is a phase as it is wearing me out!

Charis - i understand what you are saying about the teeth/boobie combination. Not a great one but they soon learn to be careful. Kelsey has nipped a few times (and sometimes nips my shoulder when being carried too) but I just gave a really loud screech and made her cry and she hasn't done it since. DS used to feed off one boob and get his other hand onto my other boob and give nipple cripples - so painful!! Even now he presses them and says "beep beep, honk honk"!!!

Well better go and get some sleep.

take care

Welcome lovemyprincess, look forward to chatting heaps to you.

Cordelia: never mind, we are planning to go parks etc quite a lot this year now I have an excuse lol.
So next time  , maybe the new one near the causeway that Charis's friend designed, it really is lovely!
Toys r us had a gate on special, might be worth a look. Its in their baby catalogue online.

Mim: Glad Josh is almost there in feeling better.

Hi freddie

Us: Pretty much same all day, shes really out of sorts, still diarrhea and a few gags but no vomiting luckily. DS1 shouted pizza all round tonight and I only had 2 pieces! yep got to be sick.
anyhow, am beat after that 430am wake, quick browse of forums and a early one for me.

Flicka LOL @ the honk honk!!! that hilarious!
You and Charis are making me cringe though with this biting convo lol, bad enough the nips she gives on the arm or shoulder never mind imagining the boob.

forgot to measure Katies feet, will try tomorrow, I said when she was born what big feet she had so am curious now if they are in comparison

Yes I seem to be making a habit of this - getting slack with getting onto Bubhub these days. Time has gone so fast with little Billy growing up

But finally he has accepted a bottle, I had major dramas but wanted to get him on the bottle as I have gone back to work. My trick to get him to take it was go into him for the 10:30pm feed and give it to him before he really woke. It worked a treat after trying all sorts of bottles, formulas:babydust2: so thats my magic tip!

I am still breastfeeding 2 times a day and he gets 2 bottles a day. He has also started sleeping through the night in the last 6 weeks. Life is getting easier  He goes to bed between 5pm or 6pm and sleeps through (apart from 10:30 feed) til about 7am. Wonderful stuff.

We are still sorting through the seperation - house papers waiting to be signed....

I have also increased work hours Mon, Tues and Wed 8am - 3pm and Friday mornings. I also have to go to childcare and take Imani to preschool during my lunch break. So between work and single parenthood of 2 as well as trying to keep up with the house, garden and that nightmare pool I am pretty flat out.

Hope life is well for all of you here and our lovely little (or should I say BIG) babies. They will be toddlers soon :crying:

Welcome Lovemyprincess, we look forward to hearing and sharing stories with you.
Flicka...Yah  to K starting to crawl.
Karrina...good to hear from you, was thinking this morning of you when Sunrise said you were in for a scorcher. :hugs: for all youare going through at the moment. No doubt you'll settle into a routine soon and things will start to seem a bit less chaotic.
Cordellia...hope you are all on the mend. Good the hear DH has a new job already. Yes, gates are the answer to roving bubs.
Tabby...hope you and K start to feel better soon.

After a few horrid nights, we've had two good ones with only one wake up during the night. Still no more teeth, but they are coming.

TJ's pulling herself up more and more:( . Unfortunately I don't think she'll wait until her first birthday before she starts walking.

Had better go, too many things to do/catch up on....bugger, TJ's awake again.

Have a good day,
Lisa

I'm lucky, no teeth so no biting yet!

Well the boys so far all seem to have similar sized feet around the 11cm mark. I wonder about the girlies?

Doing pretty well here although for some reason after being wonderful for weeks C has decided he needs to be fed to sleep for naps. Just plays & plays in his cot, then gets overtired and silly & then finally cranky and nothing else will do the trick. Fine at bedtime though so not really a problem.

Tabby, hope you and Katie are feeling better soon. No good if you can't even eat pizza and poor Katie must feel very yucky to be gagging all the time :hugs:

Good to hear from you Karrina. I was also thinking about you when I saw the 40 degree weather prediction on Today this morning. Our 30 degree days pale in comparison.

Ella has been out of sorts of late.... 4 top teeth coming through at once.... Poor baby girl. Thanks for the advice on the cheese. So far I have just given Ella meat and Veg and started youghurt now I am so confused with giving her solids... Like can you give tin Tuna? or only fresh. What about spreads on bread??? etc etc... is there a good book you have bought that says everything simply.

Take care Rachel and Ella.....:smiliedance:

arachel2: No book recommendation sorry but can tell you that tune either way is fine, of course making sure all bones are removed if fresh. I have only stuck with tin ( in water ) tuna, as am worried will miss bones in fresh fish.
Spreads are fine on bread too, so far Katie has had those cheese portion ones, Vegemite, jam.

Cat13: Might be teething making him want feeds to settle, Katie did the same. I had a few really bad weeks trying to settle her in the cot (only sleep my arms and with bottle) but once they cut it was all back to normal.

Mouse: Glad you've had a couple of better nights, fingers crossed they continue for you.

Karrina: Lovely to hear from you! Agree with Mouse, once things settle down and get more routine in you will feel much less loaded with things. wonderful that Billy is finally sleeping through for you, that sure helps things.

Us: Katie had her first corn on the cob tonight, laid out with sausage/ broccoli and cauli but they never got a touch, she had hold of that corn and munched away, so I had to keep slotting in bits of things when she was taking a break from it lol.

Thanks for the feeling better wishes, must have worked, we are both feeling MUCH better. She did throw up again this morning and still a bit diarrhea-ish but her actual well being is quite the happy gal again. might be the tremendous sleeps shes had today too, 3 x 1 hr naps and still in bed 630! She was giving off tired sighs and I thought no way your ready yet as her last nap was 330-430 but yup, 10 mins and shes all quiet , so must be asleep.
maybe the naps are making her recover too.

good sleeps to all!

Lovemyprincess – and welcome. Looking forward to chatting to you.

Tabby – Glad to hear you and Katie are on the mend.

Min – Glad to hear Josh is getting better.

Karrina – So good to hear from you. I also was thinking about you when I saw the temperature for Alice Springs on Sunrise this morning.

Us – We’ve had some really hot weather here in Brissy and severe storms in the afternoons. Just enjoyed my last time relaxing in the spa tonight. Have to start draining it for the big move. Have organised all our accommodation for our trip. It will take us 9 days to get to Perth.

Talon is full on crawling and climbing everything. We can’t leave the room unless he’s following us. T has started to wave when you say “bye bye” it’s so cute. Hubby and I still haven’t come to any agreements on a name for this bub. I have a few names but I have to try and convinces hubby on some of them lol.

Anyway I :ecomcity: enough. I’m going to sit down and enjoy some of the new Cadbury Lemon cheesecake chocolate that hubby brought me. he does think of me sometimes  .

Take care

Oh he he he, Flicka, the 'beep beep / honk honk' made me laugh out loud! Yes they certainly find a way to 'cop a feel' :) I am trying praise and happy calm strokes when I feel he;s about to finish...otherwise if he is at all 'giggly' it is like he's after the last bit of condensed milk in the tube...that teeth clamp down and pull. ECK!

Tabby hope you're having a great sleep, after the 4.30 start..and little K is getting much better. So great to read about the corn cob too! And also reminding me that tuna in oil is not recommended..? I think its not..I guess just from an oily point of view..no 'bad' for them..
H has corn cob at his grandpas for lunch each week, seems to keep him entertained most of the lunchtime so I can eat.

MouseBrown, great new avatar!

Karrina, great to hear from you, was wondering how you're going. How do they both enjoy childcare+pre-school?

LovemyPrincess and Tayah Welcome too! We've got a birthday 2days away.. though age/birthday is one thing, but their huge mobility milestones make it all mixed up now it seems. Love the SEAL descripton. H is pulling himself with his hands! Using his feet and BUM.. the knees seem very low on the priority list.

Straw Short all the best with names. Oh how exciting it is. How is it handling T physically? H is becoming very strong and wilful.. I guess they all are, but sometimes, after catching Hunter for the 5th time during a nappy change rolling extravaganza I think of you and wonder how you do it!

Oops forgot to measure the feet!

Well had a v low (work) morning and a v happy night. After not seeing H's dad for 10days..we had a lovely night. (oops for Work!) but begun with him meeting us at the park, playing, dinner, H's bath..like its 'supposed to be'. T'is so lovely seeing them love them so, isn't it!

Flicka, many thoughts and :hugs: of patience for you and your DS is he continues the 'I want my Daddy' Hope it is all better soon.

Night night x

Charis: Started off bad last night, she woke at 10.15 just 15 minutes after I went to bed! Took me a hr to get her back to sleep in my arms, she was farting like a trooper so probably tummy pains. but the rest of night was soundless, till 530am! sheesh lol need to take my own advice for blockout curtains real soon!
Last night sounds lovely, and yes it is very precious to see them love them so!
Tuna in oil, yep really just not recommended, would just be way too much oil for them at this age is all.

Strawberry: 9 days? So I gather your driving then?

Really blah weather but just checked rest of the week, some beautiful weather coming up again. YAY can go walking and get back out in the garden, I was really enjoying it last week.

Yeh Tabby we are driving. Turning it into a holiday. There are some places we haven't seen before. Not travelling any more then 5 to 6 hours a day. So kids don't get restless and cranky at us lol. Defence pays us to travel over there.

Charis i try not to carry T much, he's a very heavy boy. He'd rather crawl or sit in daddy's arms waving to everyone  .

Anyway better go he's heading straight to hubby's bar.

Hi everyone

Strawberry - Hope you have a great drive. I've done the Melbourne to Perth drive when i was 9  From what i can remember it was really good. I would love to do it again & we were going to do it March this year but changed my mind when i remembered that Sierra would have only been a few weeks old. My mum has just done the drive again last friday... she hates flying & her fiance lives in Perth. So he flies over here & then drives back with her. Shes done it 3 times this year

LoveMyPrincess  & welcome.

Tabby - 5.30am is way too early for me... Hope Katie has a nice sleep in for you tomorrow morning. Sierra has been awake inbetween 6.15 & 6.30 every morning for the last few days... hate it. Especially when i get to bed late the night before. I know i should probably go to bed earlier but i like to have some quite time to myself & DH in the evening.

Cant remember what other personals i was gonna do... sorry.

Us - Sierra is crawling everywhere & wont stop lol. She's eating really well & sleeping not too badly. I've been making DH get up to her more in the night & thats been good lol. Trying to get DD1 into a good going to bed routine before she starts school next year. I thought i would start early cos i know it will take that long lol.

tired mummy: Same here i hate going to bed early as I feel havnt had enough time with DP or some me time, it used to be 730 wake so hopefully she goes back to it. my "me" time is a quick search of the hub and playing serious sam at the moment lol. Am such a big kid sometimes but I think its a great way to unwind, DP and I even multiplayer some games. such fun!

Strawberry: The drives going to be awesome!
Sounds like youve got it all worked out, hope it goes smoothly for yous.

Katies having some awesome sleeps yesterday and today, 3 naps yesterday of 1 hr and today so far a 2 and a half one and now back in bed again as was showing tired signs again! Maybe her body is helping her recoup from that bug. :fingerscrossed:
No gags so far today..and only one icky poo.

Oh and she keeps falling on her face lol. From the sit position to lean over to crawl but as shes not quite there yet she just keeps face planting! 3 upsets today so far lol

Cat13

Tabby, sounds like Katie & Cameron are still on the same learning curve with crawling. He's getting better though, now easing himself from sitting into a gentle face plant instead of a complete freefall.

Jinxed myself by saying in last post that at least C was still easy to get down for the night - not until nearly 9 last night but he did sleep until 5.30 so can't compain. I'm sure it is the teething, all day he had either a rusk, chilled teething ring or his poor little fingers clamped tightly in his mouth. And old grannies at the shops keep commenting on his bulging gums!

Good luck for the drive Strawberry. I think we did it in 4 days when we moved there from Melb but no bub then and we drove from sunup to sundown. 4 days again I think when we moved Perth to Sydney. In no rush to do it again but probably would have been more enjoyable if we'd taken our time and seen some sights along the way.

Charis, although we have no teeth I do know the cheeky giggle. With C though it is all about trying to touch/pull/poke my face/mouth/hair while feeding. Not always gentle and his fingernails are so sharp but near impossible to hold his hands still enough to clip them.

Nearly forgot, C has been saying 'mum' quite clearly. Just not sure if he means me!

Hi ladies

cat - I just had such an awful thought that I was supposed to pm you about coffee! D'oh - I'm so muddle brained sometimes. I'm really sorry and we will have to catch up soon. maybe next week or week after? Will have to wait and see what is going on first. We just bought a new puppy - another Jack Russell!!! He is coming from canberra next week so will have to wait and see when that is......as a fellow jack lover i'm sure you will understand!

Kelsey is the same as Cameron and Katie with the half hearted attempts at crawling. When she pulls forward from sitting she keeps getting her leg caught and then squeals for help!!! I really hope she crawls soon as I think it would stop her being so frustrated all of the time when she can't reach toys or a ball rolls away from her!

Strawberry - take care on the long drive. Hope you have lots of breaks and stretch your poor preggy legs.

I agree with you ladies about hating going to bed early. I stay up too late just messing about and then wish I went to bed earlier. I need some 'me' time in the evening otherwise I'd go nuts!

If any of you ladies want to complain about early wake ups - come and visit me!!! Kelsey and DS are morning people. Most mornings Kelsey gets up for a feed in bed at about 4.45 - 5am and then doesn't go back to sleep. DS also gets up at about 5.30am. We live on acreage and the birds out here are so loud from about 4am i'm sure they wake the kids (and me). DH is lovely and tries to give me a sleep in a couple of times a week (if you can call 7am a sleep in!).

Charis - talk about funny!!! Breasts being compared to a tube of condensed milk!!!! I know it is hard at the moment with the nipping but I am sure it is just a phase and the 'novelty' will wear off. Have you tried the really loud squeal to scare him???? I know when Kelsey is thinking of nipping - she sort of grins and looks at me out of the corner of her eye and I say "NO BITING" really firmly.

arachel2 - baby food books - there is a baby food book in the womens weekly cookbook range that is quite good and fairly cheap. I also got a couple of cheap but good ones from k-mart when DS was a bub.

Oh, forgot to say Kelsey started waving today - aww so cute! I had to pop into work (as I start back in 6 weeks  ) and she was waving to everyone.

Well, better go. take care and Tabby - hope Katie is feeling even better tomorrow!

Cat: Am hoping Katie adapts a more gentle face plant like Cameron soon as its quite worrying watching her lol.

Shes had 2 x 2.6 hrs naps today! and just now picked up ds1 from work and she zonked in the car, which firstly is so unlike her and you would think she wouldnt be so tired so early (645pm) ah well, she woke when got her out so hopefully she will go back...does sound quiet in there :fingerscrossed:

oh and feet measurement was 10cm.

Oh and thanks but Ill pass on your wakeups though

Tabby, M seems to be copying Katie. Very sore bottum (no diarrhea thankfully) #2's every nappy, and my sleep angel has been shrieking every 30mins or so since he went down at 7pm. No fever but have given him nurofen in case it's teething which I think it is.

M is getting up on his arms all the time now instead of aeroplaning on his tummy, also trying to clap and wave. He is rolling everywhere and over everything - nothing stops him for long! He does get the dirts when he rolls onto something uncomfortable though.

Finally, some improvement today - in josh, not me. I was much worse this morning, completely out of energy. Thankfully dh was better and able to help with josh. Josh was grizzly and grumpy on and off this morning and continued his half feed nonsense (half a feed every 1 1/2 hours give or take an hour!!). Then, I gave him dimetapp and nurofen before his early afternoon nap. He woke up at 45 minutes, had a good feed on one side, slept for another 45 minutes, had a good feed on the other side and went straight back to sleep for another 2 hours!! Completely unwrapped, just in his sleeping bag in his cot. What a relief! He hasn't had a decent daytime nap in nearly 3 weeks and it's seriously draining.

Josh is crawling everywhere and today he pulled himself up to standing for the first time! Eik! It happens so fast - he was only commando crawling 2 weeks ago! The house is far from baby proof or set up for a crawling boy, so we've got some serious rearranging to do. He's still saying 'dad' all the time. I think I heard a 'ma' today, but it could have been wishful thinking. I bathed him last night and let him loose in the big bath by himself. He can sit and crawl around in the bath without incident. My arms were always millimetres away from grabbing him - I kept imagining a faceplant - but no incidents and he had a ball. Suddenly bath time is SO much easier. I'm so glad I didn't buy a bath seat (I had a reclining one for when he was little).

Strawberry ... take care on the trip. Taking a long time is a good idea. My aunt and uncle did it with 3 kids (I think they ranged from 7 to 3) and they vowed never to do it again. But, I think they did it in 3 or 4 days.

Clea is walking! We went to our first playgroup yesterday and she got so excited with all the toys and babies that she just forgot to hold onto anything. She can take about 5 steps and then she sits down. She is a little bully. Everytime she saw another baby with a toy she raced towards that toy, then when she had it she dropped it and went to another toy. Lucky she is so cute about it. Maybe she's not a bully she just could have been excited. But the newfoundfreedom has meant she has started napping! Yay, she is asleep now ah my browser is on the verge of quiting!

well I will try for personals now.... stupid machine just as I get a bit of time....

Tabby, glad to hear Tabby's bottom is clearing up. Sounds horrible. Maybe I missed it but was it teething or a virus? Okay just read that it is teething! Poor little cutey. Now I just read the bit about vomiting, maybe she is reacting to a food?

Cat13 We are going to an English speaking baby group and there are onyl 2 native speakers (me and the women running it) so I have been trying to remember nursery rhymes and stuff as well. Need to spend a bit of time on the web looking I think. I did remember 'incy wincy spider' complete with actions!

tired*mummy Clea has really settled now she is more mobile. I think they just get frustrated when they are on the point of mastering something.

sammyg I am impressed you manage to finish a book. I struggle to get into one with all the interruptions and I only have 1 baby!

arachel2 I gave Clea cheese at about 7 months. She just sort of sucked it. But I gave her plain yogurt as her forst dairy food. Oh I tried to get low salt cheese for Clea since she doesnt eat salt or sugar yet, but in Europe it has been a bit hard, so now she eats almost any cheese except mouldy ones. I figure its her only salt intake. I am pretty relaxed about food, I just follow these few rules, no sugar in anything and uasually no more than three ingredients in a meal. makes it simple.

Feet? I dont know, but now I have to buy her shoes so I should acually try to measure them.

Lovemyprnicess Welcone to you and Tayah

karrina good work, BFing and working! We are still Bfing but I'm not working and sometimes I find it a struggle, particularly when she wants to feed all night!

mousebrown Standing, pulling around furniture and then walking can happen very quickly. Walking could happen before her first b'day then you can be like me, running around the house trying to stop any major injuries!

DFB. WOW congrats on the big steps from Clea!!!! :yelclap:
Cant imagine them so tiny still & walking, I sure bet she looks just adorable!!! youll have to get us a short video of it if you can.

Its not food related, that I know of, nothing new in diet and I make pretty much everything so know whats in and freshness etc..oh and plus its been over a week, pretty sure it was a bug of some sort, I also had a touch of what ever it was.

Mim: ah glad Josh is getting better, :fingerscrossed: all back to normal soon for yous.

Sammy: Hope Michaels teething pains kept away for a decent night.

Us: Not the best of nights. she did resettle when home ( after falling asleep car), heard grizzles about every hr but resettled her self luckily. Then she woke at 5am!!!!!!!!! I left her there as she was happy till 545 though. Its almost 7 here and shes back in bed.

Tabby - Same here with not the best of nights. Sierra went down at 7:30pm woke @ 10.45 cos she had done a bad poo, then wouldnt resettle. I had to rock her back to sleep, that hardly ever happens. She didnt get back to sleep until 12am & then woke around 4-5am, dont really know cos i made DH get up. Then woke up just before DH alarm @ 6.15am. Think i'll be exhausted by tonight.

DFB - :yelclap: for Clea walking.

Us - Not much on today, DD1 & 2 have kinder from 11-4, it will be nice to have a quite house for a few hours. Might get a few things done & go do a bit of shopping. Will be easier without them lol.

Have a great day!

:hugs: Flicka, no worries about forgetting to PM for coffee. Trust me, I'm just as muddlebrained!

Dragonfly, so hard to picture Clea walking when my little man is still stuck so close to the ground. And I'm sure a quick internet search would yield many nusery rhymes. When I need to distract him for a bit I sing '5 little ducks went out one day' and he loves it.

My good sleeper seems to be back for the time being, fell asleep this morning no problems at all :yelclap: . Sounds like there is a spate of unsettled bubs though so lots of :hugs: to all. So exhausting and frustrating and sometimes just nothing to do except wait it out.

Glad Josh is on the road to recovery Mim, hope u follow soon.

Gotta go, nap time over, just in time to meet some friends at the park.

Take care everyone.

Clea walking!!! That's amazing!!!:yelclap: I wish they would stay little longer.. Caitlin is pulling herself up on furniture too now. What happened to my little sleepy baby - probably a sign it's time to have another!!!

Also, dragonfly - nursery rhymes: This is a fantastic website: http://wpl.winnipeg.ca/library/pdfs/Rhymes.pdf. I'm such a big believer in these - Caitlin has been going to nursery rhymes since she was 4 months and recognises them all now. So good for them!! Even DH gets into them too.

So lazy this morning!! Laying on the lounge watching some P&P and off to have my first haircut since February today!! And then off for cake and coffee witha friend this arvo... Aaahhhhh!!!!!!!!!

clea - walking!! eik! Surely our babies aren't old enough to walk yet *shakes head in denial*

We sort of had a better night. Josh slept from 7:30pm til 3:30am, but then stayed awake til 5am! I was so ready for him to go back to sleep, but he wasn't interested. He'd done a poo and I didn't change him ... once I did, he went to sleep. Gotta hate that fuzzy headed feeling in the middle of the night that means you forget to check the little things. He did then sleep from 5am til 8:30am, so that was great. He's not feeding very well this morning though ... hopefully he improves.

lovemyprincess ... welcome! our babies are all chores at some point, even if it's just for 1 minute of the day, once a month. So, eventhough you weren't meaning that, we wouldn't criticise you if you said you were finding managing an 8 month old a chore.

Cordelia – Sounds like you have a good day ahead especially the cake and coffee part yum.

Us- Not much is happening here. Talon has been sleeping really good. He went to bed last night at 7 and I didn’t hear from him till 7.30 this morning. He’s back in bed now for his morning nap. I’m busy cleaning while hubby has some days off. Hubby can look after T while i’m cleaning.

Better get going and get some things done while master T is napping.

I just close my eyes and only worry if I hear her cry/scream. May sound a bit mean, but I don't have enough time to follow her around. She's started balanceing/rocking on the rocking stool of my chair. Bought a walker today from Woolies as I think we'll need it soon.

Both Tayah and i woke up sick today and the poor thing keeps crying in her sleep-she cant breathe properly as her nose is all blocked-so i will go tend to her now!
Paedamon is my magic medicine for runny/blocked noses. With an antihystamine (sp?) it also helps them sleep.
Strawberry...good luck with the packing and trip.

An ok night here. Tj woke a couple of times before 12, but then settled in until 6.30.

I can see the top teeth starting to come through, so hopefully things settle down again soon.

She also had huge sleeps again, over 2 hrs for each. :smiliedance:

Sierra has had a bad grumpy day. Sooking everytime i put her down or walk away. Wouldnt go to sleep by herself today either which is strange for her. Wouldnt take her bottle to help to get off to sleep, the only way i could get her to sleep was to rock her or walk around with her & every time i put her in her cot she woke up & cracked it. I managed to get her down on my bed for 2 sleeps today, one was an hour & the other was just half hour. Dont know what her problem was today. Went out shopping tonight & gave her some panadol before we left & she was great the whole time, not a sound & of course she fell asleep just before we left the shops & had to get back in the car.
Got 2 boxes of huggies. On special @ safeway/woolworths for $28.95... if anyone wants some.

Well gonna try & get some sleep now that Sierra is asleep.

She woke at 630am and wanted bed again by 730, this she decided while I was getting dressed to go early bird food shopping lol. ah well cant complain thats for sure.
She was extra happy this morning, giggling away at nothing. Safe to say that alls well with her now.

tiredmummy: It sure does sound like Katie when her teeth were coming through, cuddles to sleep and clingy etc. Hope Sierra's feeling better soon xx

I used to buy huggies but dont now since I found woolworths select brand, and at half the price!
I got 3 boxes 3 weeks ago as they were out for 9.98 instead of 14.98. and mil said they were still there same price last week, am hoping again today to stock up some more, just as well got those 3 as needed heaps this last week with the diarrhea and sore bum so lots of changing

glad katie is better tabby. it's nice to have a sleeping baby isn't it? especially after a long period of difficulty sleeping.

josh is asleep now. we had an interesting start to the day. he got up for milk at 5:30am (it had been 6 hours since a feed, so I wasn't complaining) and immediately after the feed he did a massive vomit over the side of the chair and right on top of the tv remote and the dvd recorder remote. gross! i don't know if I'll ever get them clean again. Of course, he's actually much better today, quite giggly and energetic, so I don't know why he chucked ... it's been months since he did a vomit so big.

Enough rambling, I really should go as we've got this funeral for dh's grandpa this afternoon and I still have to prepare some stuff for it.

Hello to all!

Again, it's been ages and I don't really have a good excuse to be so slack anymore :shame:

so what's been going on....CLEA walking!!! oh my, that's exciting, yet a very scary thought at the same time!! I'm almost certain Xavier will be doing the early walking thing too, he cruises around the table and lounges like it's nothing.

Really starting to feel like my baby is not a "baby" anymore, and it's kinda sad. Everyone always says how fast the time goes, and i've just lately realized this. Can now fully understand how people become clucky while they still technically have "babies" already. On that note I am extremely clucky, but am trying to just stick to waiting until after our wedding next summer (canadian summer, so june, july) am also experiencing a sense of grieving since he weaned which I wasn't expecting.

Mr. X now has 3 bottom teeth, and last nite we got our first sleep thru in ages!! Funny thing is that I actually feel more tired???!!!

Oh yes, question: are girls usually meant to speak sooner than baby boys?? I ask this because I nanny for my sister and her little girl is 11 months, and she just seems way more than 3 months ahead of X in the way she "talks", like she can nearly repeat every word u say. I don't know whether to be concerned or not, as I really don't think X could possibly sound like her in only 3 months, hmmm........

Still very much missing our Perth meetups, be sure to get pics next time you ladies get together. Will try and post new ones of X soon.

Take care all

aries_moon, lovely to hear from you!
In my experience from 2 boys then a girl I would say yes, absolutely! Katie is already saying certain words, 3 days ago she learnt "car" and yesterday ( wasnt sure till just now) shes saying "ta". She has been nattering away all day and there is a couple more in there that you can clearly see shes trying to say something but just quite hasnt grasped what ever it is. The boys were much later that Katie.

Katies definitely over what ever it was, and making up for it, cant stop her chatter and giggles, its really cute! and lovely to see it back again.

Oh and we had a definate commando crawl of one push just before but at least we are getting there lol. I recon a few days to a week.

I finally got to shopping after waiting the 2 and a half hrs for her to wake!!! watch me jinx my self now by saying I sure hope these 2+ hr naps last.
had to grab huggies special today as yes the select ones were still 9.98 but all gone her size :(
Newborn ones were 5.95 a box!!!!!!!! Realised after, that I should have grabbed some for next bub and for my gift basket for sil for her bubs come march. Hopefully still there Tuesday when I can get back there.

aries ... It was only 3 weeks ago when I was talking to a friend with a son 2 weeks older than Josh. She told me he was saying 'mum' and 'dad' all the time. I was shocked as Josh hadn't said anything like that and I thought it would be some time til he did. 5 days later he started saying 'dad' and now I can't stop him! :)

Tiredmummy, Sierra's crankiness sounds alot like Cameron a couple of weeks ago and then again a couple of days ago. But today after an uncharacteristically long afternoon nap (2.5hours!) I think I finally saw tooth. Yay :smiliedance: Tried to get a proper look to confirm but he wouldn't cooperate so will have to check tomorrow.

As for talking Ariesmoon, another area where they all develop at such different rates. We have lots of 'dad's and 'mum's but I'm still not convinced they mean anything to him yet.

Busy day yesterday, first visit to the kiddies pool for Cameron (I forgot my bathers but decided wouldn't kill me if my shorts got wet sitting in the shallows!) followed straight after by baby rhymes at the library. Much smaller group this week of about 12. But C would definitely rather explore the floor than sit on my lap listening to me while I vainly try to manipulate his hands & feet to do the appropriate actions.

Katie's crawling!!!!!!!!!!!!! :smiliedance::smiliedance:
She started this arvo with one push and just a few mins ago before bed she was on our bed playing and crawled to the big cat I have on my bed. Although it was commando crawl lol SO I took her to the lounge and she did it for ages and quite far, 2 days ago she would look at something and am sure I could see her think "nah too far I wont even try" lol. Tonight she went for it every time!
Dont think long before up and away though as in between she gets up on all fours and rocks.

Lots of work tomorrow then baby proofing and suppose I better wash the floors again

Just a quick one as my tummy is rumbling for dinner.

Tabby...Yah for Katie crawling. I figured it wouldn't take her long when you stopped passing her everything, LOL. As for the woolies brand nappies, I tried them when TJ was newborn and didn't like them at all. Her newborn poo's kept escaping form them. Maybe now she's bigger I should give them another go.
Aries...great to hear from you. We miss you at the Perth meets too! AS for talking, TJ's not saying a hell of a lot that means anything. She talks non stop, but it's all ramble.

A sleep through last night. :fingerscrossed: for tonight. And yes Aries, I felt more tired after having more sleep too.

Chucked a sickie today and went shopping for 'mum'. New bras, sandles, skirt, shorts and tops. Won't know myself.

Big sleeps,

:smiliedance: for katie crawling - good work!

 great walking clea!

Josh crawled down the corridor to the bathroom for his bath tonight. It's been a joke for a while that he'd do that soon, but he's done it now - a lot sooner than we expected! He's also pulling himself up on heaps of stuff now, only 2 days after starting that trick. He did fall in the bath tonight after pulling himself up on the edge. Only a little head bump on the way down, nothing major. He did however pull himself up at the tap end of the bath (which is hard for me to reach when I'm sitting next to the bath) and he was reaching for the taps as if to turn them on! I got to him in time!

This new phase is great, but as the owner of a cluttered, messy house, I'm seriously struggling with all the changes that are necessary to keep josh semi clean and most of all ... safe!

I really hope we have a better night tonight. Josh woke up at 10pm last night and decided it was party time. He partied til 1am, then every time he went down, he'd cough and wake himself up. That continued on and off til 5am! Then, he woke up for the day at 8:20am. yesterday was a weird day with the funeral (it was 1 hour's drive away), and he only got 1 lot of solids instead of 3 and he didn't get as much crawling time as usual ... so hopefully with all those things rectified today tonight will be better. He's been in bed since 7:30pm and only needed resettling 3 times (or is it 4 ... I hate coughing!!) ... so it's going ok so far.

Mim: Hopefully was just the long day for Josh yesterday thats unsettled him and all goes back to normal tonight.
Im amazed here as well!!!! Katie is almost up on all fours already after only a few mins of commando crawling here and there. Tonight she was laid down after the bath and up and down then dragging then up again lol. quite a funny way to crawl.
yay for Josh too as hes obviously picked it up fast as well.
Didnt get much time today to baby proof as much as I wanted to, have the lounge done but figure the rate shes grasping it by tomorrow will need do other rooms.
Have used the porta cot to sit over modem and cords lol.

DFB: The vid was awesome, cant wait till Katie is walking.

Mouse: Hope you got another great night :fingerscrossed:
Thanks to you Katies crawling :hugs:.
Not too soon will have to stop myself from helping her pull up on things lol
Get to garden or out in this beautiful sunshine?

Hope ones having a great weekend, with some great sleeps xx

ps: yep with a big milestone comes sleep routine out the window, she woke grizzling about every hr last night and today 2 x 15 min naps!! last 3 days it was 2 x 2-3 hrs!
How long does it last?

sleeps and milestones ... can last 2 weeks, or not be an issue. I've found it's usually an issue BEFORE the milestone, not after ... so hopefully katie is past it.

My parent's dog just had to be put down. :crying: We got Sam just before my 18th birthday and he was the dog that I was closest too. He was 13 and I'll miss him, but it was so sudden.

thanks tabby.

On paper Josh had a great night. Fed at 7:30pm, went to sleep. Dream feed at 9pm, real feed at 1:30am, woke for the day at 7:30am. Problem is that I had to resettle him probably 10 times up til 11pm as he kept waking himself up coughing. Then I had to do the same thing from 2am til 3:30am. I think he's got sore muscles all over from all his coughing and he gets easily upset still if I leave the room. I am *so* working on getting him to self settle again this week. He's happily playing with boxes and drink bottles in the lounge room at the moment ... who needs toys?

WOOHOO I am back!!!

Been MIA for a while. We rented the house out for the race week and had no internet access that week, then was away in Port Macquarie at my Pops house and he certainly has no internet access- I have been lost without it.
Have not caught up on much yet, but Yay for Katie crawling and Clea Walking:smiliedance: !!

Bridget went for her first paddle in the surf this week, she loved the water and loved eating the sand!! She had such a great time. She has 6 teeth now, and looks like that will be it for a while now- but those top 4 took forever to cut through! She is pulling herself up on and walking along the furniture- such a clever little duck. I cant believe how much her movements and personality have changed over the last 2 weeks. Dh really notices it as we were away from him last week for 6 days!!

19 Weeks and two days into the pg. Feeling actual kicks which is really cute- 1/2 way there already!

Anyways better scoot so much to do, back to work tomorrow- Hope all are well!

Aries – Nice to hear from your. Talon doesn’t say much just dad and bub all the time and he has said mum a couple of times but not too often.

Tabby - :smiliedance: for Katie crawling. Talon was commando crawling for about a week, then after that he was full on crawling. I usually buy huggies or aldi nappies for T, when I read your post with the woolies brand I went up to the shops to check what they had. None in T’s size but end up getting 3 packs for new bub.

Mim – :hugs: to you hun. Hope you have a better week this week.

Welcome back Liviesmum. Isn’t it amazing how much you rely on the internet. I’d be lost without mine.

Not much is happening here. Had a very quiet day yesterday. Went to a couple garage sales around the area. Picked up some great bargins. Went through T’s room and packed all he’s clothes that don’t fit him anymore. I couldn’t believe how much stuff he had. Saving them just incase this bub is a boy. Now just have to do the girls rooms this afternoon. Don’t need to pack up the house. The removalist (sp???) does that for us, all we need to do is pack our personal belongings (eg clothes).

T loves standing and walking the furniture and watching Hi 5 lol.. Honestly don’t think it will be long till he’ll be walking.

Anyway better get going and make some lunch for my hungry mobb.

Take care
Kel.

Hi Girls

Well I haven't posted in ages but had to tell you I just got a :bfp: !!!! Just did a test this arvo while my hubby was at the motor show & gave him a big sunday night surprise! Very shocked as didn't think it would happen so quickly but feel very blessed that it has (though it still really doesn't feel real). It wasn't an accident as such, we just decided not to worry if I got pregnant (that's what happens when you get carried away on your anniversary!!!) & sure enough - bam! It's only my 3rd AF since no BF so I thought it would be all out of whack. We were going to start "officially trying" in a few mths but decided it wouldn't matter if it was sooner - but I don't think I actually thought it would happen!

Isabella is just 8 1/2 mths old :eek:so she will be 15mths old so not quite sure what I'm getting myself into! I am still in shock so the thoughts are swirling!!!

Isabella's doing really well. In the last week she has her first 2 teeth coming through & she's crawling - well, commando shuffle anyway. And she's only just started sleeping thru on most nights so fingers crossed I don't get too much morning sickness & that she sleeps well!!! (please god...)

Sorry I don't have time for personals at the moment as sort of spinning out but will read back to see what's happening with everyone. "Yippeee" and "oh my god" at the same time!
xx Sharyn

Big congrats luvmytum. :smiliedance: Although not sure about your calculations LOL. I think Isabella will be 17 months by then, not 15 (whatever difference that makes!):p

I'm not exactly clucky but would still like to be joining you seeing as we want a fairly small age gap (18-24months). But still BF and no AF so not very likely!

By the way C definitely has his first tooth (bottom right). We had excellent sleeps the day before & after it appeared but now I think the bottom left is bothering him so he is Mr Sooky Pants again. :fingerscrossed: it cuts soon too and no more teeth for a while!

Tabby...yes, have been in the garden as much as possible lately. Spring is a bad time for me, I'm always buying plants as they all look so happy and healthy. So the past week or so I've been trying to get them in the ground before the heat of summer starts. Just got them all planted and I bought some palergoniums from BigW on Friday,:p . Will have to see what I can get cutting off for your dog ravaged garden. Have got some aggies if you're interested.
Luvmytum...Congrats on the :bfp:
LiviesMum...good to hear from you again. How was your hosue after the weekend. Did you have to start cleaning all over again?
Mim...:hugs: for the cr@ppy sleeps. We're pretty much ing the same boat at the moment.

Us...DH is due in again tomorrow. Have had a couple of ok sleeps. TJ's woken a few times in the night, but after a quick feed she's been going back to sleep easily. My back is playing up at the moment. I think it's cause I'm sleeping so soundly and not moving when I do get into bed.
Have to start packing for our holiday soon. So much stuff to take for two kids. MIL said the weather is all over the plce at the moment, which mans I'll have to pack a range of clothes.
TJ's top left tooth is through, and the right one is all but.

Another nice day in Perth today. Might try and get out for a walk later.

Mouse: Oh most definitely take you up on some cuttings for my poor back yard lol. much thanks! Aggies??

Cat: yay for first toothy peg! hopefully the other tooth cuts quickly and back to a happy baby again.

Strawberry: What date was in you start heading across? yep sure doesnt take em long to get the hang of it once up and moving like with T standing getting ready to walk already, Cant believe how much in 3 days her crawling style is changing, I figure 3-4 days she will be up all fours and away!

liviesmum: YAY welcome home
Almost half way, How fast is that!?? How you feeling though, heaps better now?

mim: hope you got some decent nights? :hugs:

Just a very short one of Katie's first attempts to crawl. The tv got the better of her at the end though so is only about 3 push offs lol

I forgot to add my weekend visit to local supermarket, Katie on my hip in a short sleeve summer dress, the checkout lady (she was about 50 ) says to Katie " oh you sure look like you like your food huh?" then I ignore that and she says " yep sure do look like your not starved" WHAT THE!!!??? I stormed off and left DP to pack and pay before I said back at her " yep sure does look like you like your food too?" ( shes wasnt thin)Am sure she would have been p!ssed had I said that to her so why is it okay to say it to Katie? :(
DP doesnt see what I see in being annoyed by it. Am I just over sensitive here? be honest! I can take it from my bh mates but not a complete stranger. Is it that noticeable that she does going by her size? I didnt think she was overweight, shes chubby yes but arnt a lot of babies?? and as long as not obese isnt that a good thing? I dont know why am so annoyed, I think its because I take it as her saying shes fat by saying that. would you?

Strawberry: What date was in you start heading across?

Tabby we start travelling on Saturday 27th October and arrive in Perth on the 4th November. Staying at friends place for 4 night, then we stay at a motel near the beach till our furniture arrives. Can't wait.

Oh a motel on the beach!! How wonderful for yous and what a lovely way to greet Perth. The timing is perfect, shouldnt be too hot yet but will be lots of sun for the beach etc.

oh I forgot a couple of other new things shes doing.

1st is the crowing..yes crowing  we have crows that come to the front door and steal the cats food and lots of "arrrrkkks" on the front lawn, we finally worked out what on earth Katie was doing when she would hear them and then copy it. its so funny!!!! So now you say to her "wheres the crow?" and go arrrrk like one and she does it too  .

Also Charis I think asked before was anyone bubs doing the indian call thingy, and I replied no and that I would try it and she would look at me as if to say " what on earth are you doing mum"? Two days ago I tried again and she did it, last night she was doing it with the toys now this morning she was doing it with her own hand :smiliedance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84wCC-YWpY0

my how shes learning SO fast.

uhoh speaking of Katie, shes awake!

Are you staying at the Quest at Fremantle Strawberry? That's where defence put us up and you can't get any closer to the ocean!

I don't know Tabby, the supermarket lady may have meant it in a complimentary way. Like how lucky you are to have a happy healthy bouncing baby. Especially older generations tend to think somethings wrong if a baby is not cuddly and plump! But I wasn't there so don't know what tone of voice she was using etc - can make a big difference!

I said something the other day without thinking. At baby rhymes a mum ended up taking her DD's skirt off because it kept slipping down around her ankes and I laughed and said something like 'you're just too skinny for it aren't you munchkin' And then I though ohoh, what if the mum thinks I meant that in a critical way. She seemed fine though and not like Cameron was any chubbier. I'm genarally pretty tolerant of little slip ups like that in others because I know things don't always come across they way the speaker intends. Benefit of the doubt unless it's an obvious intentional criticism IYKWIM.

Funny you mentioned about the crowing Tabby. Out next door neighbours have a cockatoo and it just struck me the other day that alot of Cameron's funny screeches sound very similar!

Cat13 – No were not staying at The Quest at Fremantle. We are staying at Sorrento Beach Resort at Sorrento. Checked out there website and not to far from the beach.

Tabby - I always get asked how old Talon is and then most of them say “gee he’s a big boy”, “he must love his food. Depends how I feel I have said some sarcastic comments back but most of the time I just say “well you haven’t seen his father have you”. My hubby is tall and solid and T is following in his foot steps. Most bubs are chubby at this stage; I wouldn’t consider any baby being fat. At the end of the day Tabby you know your bub is happy and healthy and thats all that matters.

Better go Talon is crawling into the kitchen, must be a sign he wants his brekky.
Take care

Hi everyone

Just a quick post, i've only just skimmed over the last few pages of posts.

LuvMyTum - A big Congrats on the BFP :hugs:

Us - Not alot happening hear. Sierra is 9 months today... Going so fast. I dont think the first year with DD1 went this fast lol. Sierra is standing up everywhere but gets frustrated cos she doesnt know how to sit back down. She also has started clapping properly. Opens her hands right up & bounces up & down when she does it  Her second tooth has almost cut thru too.

DD1 & 2 have got kinder today... yay! lol. Will be good to have some peace & quiet (they have been crazy the last few days) & get a few things done. Will read thru the posts properly & do personals then.

Have a great day! Take care

Luvmytum

Big congrats luvmytum. :smiliedance: Although not sure about your calculations LOL. I think Isabella will be 17 months by then, not 15 (whatever difference that makes!):p

Haha Cath - you're right! Prego brain has already kicked in!

Tabby...Don't let what other people say about Katie worry you. TJ's a porker (thighs just like her mum). To me a chubby bub is healthy.
Aggies - Agapanthas
TJ's been doing the Indian call herself for a couple of weeks, but still grabs my hand whenever she can to do it. With teething and lots of slobber at the moment it can become quite messy.
Strawberry...Sorrento sounds nice. How long will your furniture take to arrive?

Another crappy night here. TJ's top right tooth is still to cut through and is giving her grief. And DD2 had a headache last night, so it's off to the Chiro for her this morning.

Have a great day!

Hey there, how you all doing??
Congrats to Luvmytum- and welcome to the BFP club!! Long time no hear but great for you to share your news!!

Mouse- the return home was ok- the house was really clean a little bit of grease on the carpet in Bridgets room which will come out but was really well looked after. Alot of washing to do which was left with dh as I went away on the same day the keys were given back!!!

Tabby- cute you tube footage of Katie, such a big milestone crawling is!!

tired*mummy- I dont think DD1's first year went this quickly either, where has the time gone!!

Bridget is sitting on my lap and trying desperately to get to the keyboard as i type single handedly, she is such a little bugger.... and moody, my gosh she has been cranky lately! I am now questioning what i got myself into with #3 on the way already!!!

Hope you are all well, better scoot before the paddy really begins.... aahhh she is pinching me!!!!

Tabby- Kaie is such a happy cute little thing. I couldnt help but wantch both movies on youtube.

Luvmytum congratulations!

Us doing this as quickly as possible because Clea is having quick sleeos and I have a heap of things to do. Poor little thing has 3 teeth cutting. I am feeling very flat today, sick of cleaning when it all just gets messy again. Sick of being at home ad dont want to go for a walk.... obviously feeling a bit wingy today!

Thanks DFB, she is like that nearly all the time too, have been very blessed with her.
Hope your feeling better by tomorrow :hugs:, whinge away, we all have those days thats for sure. Hope Clea's teeth come soon for her, 3 at once! the poor honey.

liviesmum: hahaha I dont even try to type while Katie's on my lap, its too big a fight to keep her off the keys, she even managed to shutdown the comp mid convo on msn to ds1 last week

Mouse: Hope as well that TJ's teeth come real soon to give some relief to both her and YOU :hugs:
Let me know when your up for a visit for a coffee and some plant stealing :D

Strawberry: Staying Sorrento will be just lovely.
Just the wind down needed after that drive.

Cat: Your most likely right about the shops Cat. ( thanks everyone else as well re: shop attendant )
Either way Im over it now lol. Just got my goat for some reason.
We didnt even realise at first Katie was crowing till the crow did it then she looked at the door, pointed then imitated. Might be worth watching C next time the birds screech hehe. Not sure which is better..a QUWARKKKKKKK or a cocky screech ( we have a pink and grey so no only to well )

tired*mummy: Happy 9 months for Sierra!!! xx

Katie wouldnt nap today so is in bed here 645 pm.
All she had all day was the arvo one, I went out to lunch with DS1 and came home to see her in Daddys arms asleep, he said she woke 10 mins after I left and promptly dropped off in his arms, this is a first for her, never nodded off in Dads arms before. So got a hr nap.
really warm here tonight so no sleeping bag for the first time, fingers crossed she sleeps well as shes allways been wrapped or bagged lol.

great idea my_lot

On his 9month bday yesterday Cameron got his 2nd toothy peg (bottom left) just a couple of days after the first. Wanted to get him weighed too but the nurse at the Amcal baby clinic is in hold for 2 weeks so will just leave it until next month.

Had a fun day yesterday. Was giving him lunch before heading to his music class when he gagged and brought it and the milk he'd had before it up in 3 big heaves :barf: . It was avocado & zucchini, what a mess. And although it wasn't a real vomit I was proud of the way I stayed calm so he wouldn't freak out...good practice for the real thing one day because I am vomit-phobic! Stripped him & the highchair down down and put him on the rug while I dumped stuff in the washing machine and when I came back he was on the tiles swimming in a giant wee pool delighting in sloshing it around with his hands. Then later in the afternnoon nappy free time became poo time again, becoming a habit. Seriously, I am going to by him a pot to move him too when he starts up with the grunting. I know he won't make the connection yet but figure it can't hurt and if he's familiar with the pot might make toilet training easier later on. :fingerscrossed:

yoplait baby yogurt apparently has been re-called due to metal shavings

Baby Yoplait four-packs in the flavours vanilla, vanilla and banana, and peach and pear, with “best before” dates between November 4 and November 23 inclusive, should be returned to where they were purchased for a full refund.

grats for the 2nd toothy peg! :smiliedance:and 9 months.

I agree, the pot training early wont harm and if anything might go in your favor.
I try to time nappy free for right after poos, so far have been lucky lol

My little ratbag is finally asleep!! She has no temp and appears fine- apart from her cranky mood swings, but refused to eat her weetbix this morning (a 1st) refused her bottle of milk, refused her juice, refused a biccie, was open to the idea of a bit of toast, for about a minute and has finally at 11:30am eaten a bit of custard, then refused the bottle again???? WHAT GIVES??? It is so frustrating:hair:

Hi ladies,

Wow lots been going on!

Luvmytum - Congrats on your :bfp: !

Mousebrown - Hope your nights are improving and dh can give you a break when he is back!

DFB - Wow that vid of Clea walking is amazing - she really is a clever girl!

Tabby - thanks for the info about the yoghurt. Sounds nasty! I ran to check mine but then realised I have vaalia! Yay for Katie commando crawling!

Cat - happy 9 months for Cameron!!! LOL at your vomit/wee/poo story! Is your DH back soon? Hope you are coping well on your own. You sound like you are doing great with swimming, story time and music. Wow - what a socialite Cameron is! Yay for those teeth too!

Liviesmum - Hope Bridget is better after her nap. Could it be teeth? I know we blame lots on teething but it affects them all differently.

****Drumroll please****

Kelsey is CRAWLING!!! She finally decided to stop being so frustrated and get moving. I am really pleased as she was becoming a real cranky pants because she couldn't figure out how to get going. She has only been crawling short distances to get a toy and then sits up again but it is a start! Plus today she spent about 20mins trying to reach up and pull herself up on the coffee table. Might be time to move it aside to give her more crawling room and stop her from bumping her head.

Take care.

Not likely. I don't think he'd know what to do for a night feed. We'd end up with everyone in the house awake.
Yah :smiliedance: for K crawling!
Tabby...Maybe next Tues or the following Mon/Tues whichever suits you best for plant gathering. Let me know.
:xmastree: :reindeer: :xmas: Any Perthies interested in getting together before Christmas for a Christmas meet? I'm happy to subject my house to a room full of moving monsters if you're interested. 10, 11, 17 or 18 Dec would suit.

A better night from TJ last night.

Hi everyone,

Yay for Katie & Kelsey crawling!

Hooray for Clea walking!

Congrats to Luvmytum for the :bfp:

Liviesmum, all you can do is offer it all, I'm sure she will snap back to her normal self!

Cat, I can only handle my own children's messes from either end, anyone elses turns my stomach!

Mouse, hope TJ has a better night tonight. We resorted to a sheet hung over the blinds last night and managed a 6am wakeup instead of 4:45am.

Tabby, thanks for the heads up on the yoghurt - how terrible, wonder if it was an accident or sabotage?

Tiredmummy, your kinder days sound sublime, am looking forward to DS1 going one day a week next year!

Us, we had MG here this morning - Four 3yr olds and 2 bubs. Michael seriously wants in on the action and was happy in his walker wedged in DS1's doorway with a great view of the play going on! Later he enjoyed a roll and tumble with Baby Oscar! Very noisy morning but lots of fun!

Sammy: Seeing as its metal shavings and they know the size I think it sounds machine related.
Horrid thought of any babies taking some in.:(

Mouse: the Tuesday after next sounds okay, Will confirm closer to date.
A xmas meet sounds great! Count me in. Am okay for any day.
Glad you got a better night.

Flicka: YAY for crawling!!!!!. Sounds just like how Katie started, its now about day 4 and today she was scooting way along, by end week I recon she will have the hang of it. Shes not sitting her self back up as yet though like Kelsey. She just yells when shes had enough lol. Did notice today though she went a lot further and wasnt fazed by distance.

liviesmum: Is it teething? The poor honey, just keep offering the milk hun as shes probably just off food in general, when Katie was teething recently she hardly ate solids or bottles and when she did her bottle intake was really low for that week+. She too was a really cranky moo at times lol

Katie has said three new words today!!!!!
I cant believe it, shes going to be quite the chatter box, My mum and Dad came and she was saying gandad (granddad) and shup (shutup to the dogs barking) LOL and also said ta a couple of times, which I think she was saying before but just not very often. Oh! and we got one ta with a wave for tata when they left, so thats actually four!!!! That plus car = 5 words other than mum/dad/nan and bub.
oh dear I really am in for a chatter box arent I?

Hope the later wake-ups continues. Unfortunately early wakeups have never been realted to the sun in our house as both girls rooms are completely dark (curtains and roller shutter). I find it when the birds start their morning noises that wakes my kids.

Lovely time at the park with freddie and Hamish and Charis and Hunter, Myself and Katie and DS1.
Luckily the sun came out a bit more towards the end.
Hamish is on the move so much, trekking all around the gazebo, standing, banging his head under the table etc lol. Hunter not to sure at first of what on earth was happening but soon got into it with plenty of exchanges of race cakes and bread rolls between all three of them . Everyone else's rice cakes/bread roll tasted better!!!!
Very lovely morning/lunch. Must do it often xxx

Will be grabbing the pics tomorrow when see DS1 after hes gone through them and grabbed the best etc. and will get some up for yous.

Mouse: yay for a good sleep. Yep sounds good for that Tues, should be fine.

Almost time to test or get AF(sunday)! getting sore boobs just today so could be either :banghead:
why oh why cant it be a glow in the dark spot on your head or something as soon as you conceive? lol

Tabby, have been thinking of you TTC but not wanting to mention it as I'm sure it's on your mind enough. Good Luck - Fingers Crossed.

Sounds like a lovely trip to the park, can't wait to see some pics!

M really doesn't like his bottle. I manage to get 200mls into him each morning (1/3 of that on his cereal) maybe 40-50mls at lunch (I even offer it before solids now) Lucky to do another 60mls at dinner (offer bottle first again and then make mash with formula) I know he's ok but it is so frustrating when I think he needs it. He eats heaps and is sleeping well but he is so long and lean. I know I'm being silly but it's hard not to obsess over it!

Tabby, I am guilty of making 'chubba' comments to bubs but it is purely envy based, would love to have some softer bits to cuddle!

Also try not to worry too much re: his bottles, He sounds perfectly healthy and happy and they are all different after all, and as you know they all change week to week in regards to amounts. In a few weeks he might want more.
As you says hes long and lean and it just may be that he enjoys his tucker more

I have the other problem, I think Katie has way too much some days! and want her to cut back a bit (but wont until shes ready of course)and I obsess that shes having too much. Sounds like we have babies at both end of the scales here lol.

Hi everyone!

Glad the Perth meet went well at the park - wasn't it a lovely day!! We ended up going to Dwellingup/Nanga/Pinjarra (or more specifically the pinjarra bakery) beauuutiful - and my parents lent us their landcruiser for the day so it was VERY luxurious! Christmas meet sounds good - I have no idea about those dates as I'm not sure when everything finishes up for the year!

Our big news iss...... i've stopped spending 3-4 hours a night rocking Caitiln. Yes - we've finally been leaving her to cry!! It's been 3 nights now. The first night took 90 minutes, 2nd night 25 minutes and last night only 10 minutes!!!! What a relief!! I have to say that (personally and because of the way Caitiln is) that I'm glad we waited this long to do it tho. I've only felt ready now. Ohhhhh but how cool!!!

Just cruised thru the posts to see all the amazing developments!! Havikng no idea about baby's development I am amazed at the talking and stuff!! Caitlin copies crows too - but also (and far more annoyingly) she has picked up on an ambulance goign past the other afternoon so we hear nothing but sirens!! She says mum, dad, bub, pop, nan, bot, ta, a strange version of hello and my sister insists she says "aunty melanie" (pffft yeah right!!!)

Re: comments about baby's size. Having a small baby, you do get sick of people saying things about her size all the time. Like we haven't heard it before and don't worry about it constantly. BUT people have their reactiosn and I know they dont mean to be hurtful so you have to take it in that light I guess. (btw Caitlin has put on 600g in 4 weeks which is more than she's put on in about 4 MONTHS so looking good! - more in height than fat tho)

Ooooo first birthdays!!!! I got a bit overexcited last night and designed the rainbow magnetic invitations. What's everyoen planning? We're having an afternoon tea with just family, a few close friends and probably 5 or so of Caitlins' playgroup friends. Her bday is the 23rd December so not sure how many takers we'll get - we'd better get used to it!!

WHAT A HUGE POST.. sorry!!!

Hello to everyone. I was just reading everyones posts and I am amazed at the diferences between all our babies and yet they are still so alike.

Ella has been doing well. She is eating 3 solid meals a day. Huge ones by the way. Still hates water in her tommy tippy cup. drinks the occasional mouthful. Usually spits it out. Do you have any tricks on teaching her to drink water ? then I could slow down the breast feeds....... She is still a 4 hourly girl oh and so am I.... hehehe. I am waiting for the day to come where she will sleep through. Ella can hold herself up for a short time if sat alone before she crashes down. She can not pull herself up yet. Ella rolls all over the floor very well and is trying to crawl. Not very well yet. She hasnt got the idea of lifting her tummy off the ground and moving her arms and legs at the same time. It is georgeous.

The baby clinic told me to cut her back to just 4 feeds a day now.... How??????? It is so hard. She can really scream:hair: she gets the temper from her nanna for sure. We call it stubborness in our home.
Thinking of changing her name to Paddy.... paddy chucker. Today I was all ready to go to playgroup and she threw a huge screaming tantrum over a ugly old blue hat.... which she had vomited on earlier.

Ella is 8 months 3 weeks now and her silent reflux is still there but one of her problems in her heart seems to be a lot better now. She is almost 8 kgs now. She is getting chubby beautiful legs.

Oh what was our life like without her....... Peaceful my husband just piped up.. funny man:wave: matt.

Oh and Ella baby has 4 top teeth through all in one go and 2 bottom teeth as well.

Hope this note finds you all well and may you have a really happy peaceful day with your beautiful babies.

Take care
Rachel.

I give TJ her sippy cup to play with while shopping/outside in her swing etc. More dribbles down her front than down her throat, but she does drink some of it. If E is BF because she's thirsty, then maybe give her the cup to play with for a while before offering the BF.
DD1's silent reflux stuck around until about 12 months.
Cordelia... :smiliedance: for C settling herself at night. As for first birthdays, I hadn't really thought about parties. Have got the cake sorted and pressies, but will have to start thinking about a party soon. I guess we'll have to take into consideration the weather (heat) with the where and numbers.
Tabby...sounds like you had a great day
yesterday.

TJ fed at 1.30 and 4.45 last night, so not too bad.

Will start a thread for the Perth Christmas meet so we can discuss it.

Have a great weekend,

Going to make it a fairly short one

I had to say good bye to my beautiful dog Sasha today. She was 16 years old and deaf/half blind and arthritic, it was getting close but came sooner than expected with her suffering a prolapse today.
The vet said its very rare and he only sees about 2 cases a yr! But he also said I was doing the right thing, surgery was the only fix and at her age she might not have made it through.
Im simply devastated. She has been with us since Matt (ds2) was a toddler

I miss her so much!!!!!!!!

Tabby, so sorry to hear about losing Sasha. Losing pets is exceptionally hard as our feelings for them are so uncomplicated, we love them & they love us back. I hope it gets easier for you quickly and you can smile when you remember all the lovely times you had with her and have a laugh about the times she was naughty (if she ever was) :hugs: I hope your 2 big boys are ok too, hard for them knowing her most of their lives.

Oh Tabby, that is so sad, so very sorry to hear about your beautiful Sasha What a lovely photo of her. Is such difficult time. No way to die is good, but at least not months and years of pain and discomfort for her. They sure are part of the family and please extend my thoughts to your two boys too.

Was great to meet your DD1, what a lovely man he is, such amazing eyes! Yep of course just like his Mum! Thanks too for organising yesterday, was it only yesterday and the yummy food!! Was great to see you and Freddie and lovely to know Katie and Hamish at this age too.

I resigned#2 from the job I was heading to, have about a week of finishing straggling bits on it and then I think I'm free..at least from this one. 2hr meetings+2hr travel each time and changing-mind-discuss-everything-300times client was getting all too taxing. Oh did I mention he doesn't like babies! Though Hunter will miss the horses.

Been overloaded with work and then viral gastro at the beginning of the week, so not even opening bubhub. Did have a chance to read back a bit and say WOW LuvMyTum congratulations! Cordelia great to read about your luxury vehicle and holiday! MouseBrown some wonderful planting and gardening time you have been having! Does TJ sit/sleep/crawl = help you in the garden??

arachel2, yes, have tanty tanty tantys here too, "FEED ME, you know that will make me stop crying", is the standard one..but this arvo he just woke up on the 'wrong side' of his cot..nothing would make anything any better. Is mostly a happy gorgeous fella, but the glimpse of the tanty of the future is ugly! lol! Great to hear Ella is going so well, heart, chubby legs etc!

I must remember at 1.30 and 4.45 that so many people need and dear to me are also up!! H seems to think he needs to drink then.. when I'm knackered I just take him to bed hardly even waking up to do it, but last night transferred him back to his cot so I could get some decent sleep.

Heh and thought after 9months of sleep deprivation it couldn't get worse..I told Tabby and Freddie this..but stayed at a hotel in Collie (down south ickky town) for a race last weekend and the pub was FULL music up to number eleven on the dial till 2.30 am, then drunk patrons yelling till 3.30...Hunter woke to play (!) at 3am...so no sleep till 3.40 or so..other baby we were staying with called 6am morning!!!! ECK! So a normal night at home is a LUXURY

Great to hear about Michael the strong and lean, SammyG, H is the same physique, and strong likeM is! But H really does have little chicken legs, would look fine in lycra on a bike. Hopefully a few yrs off!

Hiya Cat13, Cameron the rolling commando too and also to Flicka and Kelsey :)

GOSH remember what we were all thinking, this time last year about the impending:xmastree: and  to our bubs. Very special time this last year has been for us all!

Oh did I mention commando crawl way off mat+rubber tiles today for the first time all the way to the kitchen. Praying for regression! he he kidding. Night night all. xxxx

Thanks Sammy/Charis :hugs:
Feeling better this morning after a very restless night, lots of thoughts of the good times with Sasha popping in and out of my head.
DS1 came with me to hold her while she slept, was very hard but we had to be there for her last breath.
DS2 refused to see her even before putting her to the car, it was just way too much and exceptionally hard for him. :(
Sammy: your so right, it did help to remember all those great things, The thing I treasure most is the many yrs as a single mum she protected us too many times to count, attempted break ins (middle of night) and prowlers. She would attack anyone who threatened us ( climbing fence etc ) but if she knew you or you came with me out back she loved you also. That and laying in the morning sun on a rug with her snuggling into me and non stop trying to snuggle in closer and closer till almost on top of me lol.
I feel better this morning knowing (as the vet also said) 16 yrs is a long time for a pet and we were very lucky to have had the chance to love her so long. Valentine
sorry for the depressing post! Just wanted give insight into what an amazing dog she was and it feels better to get it out xx

Charis: yay for the huge distance crawl! Better get onto buying that playpen lol
Katie still not preferring it much here so progress is slow. Thats okay though as am finding as she can now reach her toys etc shes much happier play time alone.
Oh thanks to freddie giving K a new taste, katie now has kiwi fruit, mum had some so gave me two and K scoffed of a whole one for lunch yesterday lol. Also gave her a taste of my orange, the face was priceless but she did like it eventually.

oh and AF is arriving, what a sh!t start to the w.e this was, will match my mood for the day am sure :(
ah well. Clomid for the next then

Happy weekend all

tabby ... :hugs: hope clomid works!

arachel ... ignore the 4 feeds a day thing! It's nonsense. If it happens it happens, but if it doesn't you don't have to endure a grumpy/screaming baby just cause the CHN said so. btw, I'm telling myself just as much as you. We got down to 5 feeds a day (sometimes 4) and were going well with 3 big solids feeds too. Then Josh got sick and it's been 3 weeks of whatever goes ... The reality is that if bubs misses part or all of a solids meal, or gets hot or overtired or sick, then they can need more milk. Sure, if they are bottle fed you might realise they aren't getting any more total milk, but when you're BFing that's a hard thing to work out. My aim is to increase the solids to a level that means Josh is happy with 4 - 5 feeds a day and take it from there. Josh still has reflux too btw.

Kelsey ... :smiliedance: for crawling

We're back from a week of hiking and we're exhausted. Josh is finally a bit better after being sick for 3 weeks. He had a cold/flu thing, then he got a really nasty cough and ear infections and has now been on antibiotics for a week for those. He also now has his 3rd tooth and he's pulling himself up on stuff and furniture walking. What a difference the last month has made. Still only one definite word - dad, but it's better than nothing. I'm amazed at all Katie's words!

Sorry for no more personals, I'm a bit exhausted. I'll try and catch up more tomorrow ... better go rescue dh who sounds like he has finally got josh to sleep after 1/2 hour of trying ... but I think he's stuck on the bed with the sleeping baby boy.

tabby sorry to hear about your friend passing on.:hugs:

arachel i would get a bit more advice before cutting feeds that much. but if you do cut them you need to replace feeds with formula. Clea is still bfing about every 3 hours. and no water except what she drinks in the bath

dragonflyblu
20-10-2007, 04:24 PM
oops clea hit the mouse and it replied!

Tabby I also meant to say that its amazing how much of a comfort animals are to us and how they alsways know, my darling cat would always sleep with me when i was upset, she just knew.

Us Clea is skipping sleeps again. She should be going down form morning sleep but she is happily playing on the floor. Not too worried as we are going for a long walk soon so she can sleep in her pram.

Trying to follow a routine with day sleeps but if we miss the window of opportunity she wont sleep, 9am for morning 11am for midday and 3pm for afternoon, BTW she doesnt do all of those sleeps just 1 or 2 of them! So now we have missed the 9am i will try again at 11am after her morning tea.

Oh food! Clea ate fish this week and we cooked her some beetroot and she loved it. Yay for iron foods.

arachel: I agree with what dfb has said, maybe some more advice. Katie is bottle fed but drinks near to none water, she hates it, shes also 3 solids plus snacks and still a huge amount of milk.
Personally..I would stick to what she wants rather than chn advice on 4 a day....If she didnt want or need it she wouldnt take it in my opinion and will cut down her self when ready.

DFB: They do know dont they?! cats and dogs..truly amazing creatures thats for sure.

argh got to go get ds1 be back later for the rest .

Thankx for the :hugs: all!

wow, lots of posts to catch up on.
firstly, :hugs: tabby for you loss, its so hard when a pet has been in your life for such a long time but wow she had a long life and sounds like she was very loved. Sorry to hear about the AF too...things always happen in clusters don't they?
secondly, congrats to Luvmytum!! amazing how many new bubs are on their way already!
yes we had a lovely time picnicking by the river and Tabby's DS1 is certainly a promising photographer from what I've seen so far! Glad Katie likes the kiwi fruit! I thought afterwards  its probably not a good idea feeding other people's kids in case of allergies etc. but I felt like mother bird with all these hungry little mouths opening up and little forlorn eyes saying 'can I have some too'...for those who weren't there I was giving Hamish rice crackers and kiwifruit (separately) and the others just had to have some too! Hunter was sharing around his bread and Katie sharing her cheese sticks. It was very cute.
Well we came home on Thursday and Hamish had a 2 hour afternoon sleep!!! Then he had another one on Friday after swimming!!!!! AND today he had another one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! better not speak too soon but how great would that be. I've heard bubs can just change overnight. Hasn't stopped the 10.30pm and 1.30am feeds and 6am waking though. Can't have everything.
Well the monkey is racing around on all fours and being very vocal after all that sleep. I swear he has just started saying 'teddy' but then its quite like 'dada' which is the favourite. He sounds like Mr Bean, its hilarious.
Hamish has 3 reasonably good solid meals, plus snacks, plus 4 day feeds and 1 or 2 night feeds (BF). I'm sure he's hungry when he feeds at night as he can resettle himself so I'm not going to stress about it.
well I'm sure this post is long enough, am going to cook a roast and veg out by the telly tonight. bliss!!
kx
ps Mouse, a mid week christmas get together would be ok for us, our pre-christmas weekends seem to be booking up already.

Mim: thanks for the :hugs:, So glad Josh is feeling better, hes had such a rough month the poor love!
Im amazed at Katie's words too, think im truly in for one chatter box girl lol.
Hope you get a good nights sleep, sounds like a full on week and you need it xx

lol freddie, but what a lovely mother bird you made!
:fingerscrossed: those lovely arvo naps continue! Katie was having 2+ hr ones morning and arvo but occasionally (like today) there is next to none. 1 hr morning nap was all, she changes over night all the time.
oh and will grab the pics tonight on thumb drive and try to get them to you and charis and some on here asap.

Shes much easier to settle now she goes down with her night bottle, for 2 weeks now, drinks it then blissfully nods off.

Hi ladies. Just checking in while I wait for DH to finally come home. Another hour or so and then the 6 week separation is over. I just hope Cameron doesn't hear him arrive or I don't like my chances of getting him back down with a long lost daddy to play with!

Just trying to remember what personal responses I was going to do...sorry if I forget anyone.

Tabby, :hugs: for sad passing of Sasha.

Cordelia, yay for self settling to sleep. Hope it's continued.

Mim, glad Josh is feeling better (and you too?)

Arachael & Charis, lots of tanty's here too. Not usually over food but more about being denied particular objects (today it was nail clippers!) or moved to what he sees as a less desireable location. eg from outside to inside. From anywhere to his room/change table. The way he turns it on makes it seem like the end of the world but then all smiles a few mins later when I find a suitable distraction.

Definitely a happier bub since those toothy pegs appeared and even falling asleep for naps on his own again. I was sure I'd wrecked everything by feeding to sleep again but goes to show it was just what he needed for comfort at the time. Freddie, Cameron had 2 2hr naps today and like you I'm not complaining but 'what the!' We had a few sleep through in a row but then 2 feeds last night. Really not phased anymore, I seem to wake up just as tired either way.

And mentioning nail clippers has just reminded me, am I the only one who finds keeping nails trimmed a mission impossible. He will not give me those hands. Hates being restricted in any way, doesn't even like me helping him do the actions at baby rhymes session (prefers to eat my bag LOL).

And on a completely different topic some food for thought for you Perthies who insinuated certain associations with long feet.......during the week a friend was changing her DS1yr who has very short stubby feet and well, my first impression of his boy bits were 'where's the rest of it?!' Not that there's anything wrong with that of course, just not what I'm used to seeing when I change C's nappy!

thanks tabby. I forgot to :hugs: you about sasha. My parents had to put down their 13 yo labrador last Saturday night, the night before we all went away hiking for the week. It was a sad start to our holiday. He was getting old and had a number of problems, but suddenly got very sick at about 6pm on the Saturday night.

Thankfully, after a bath and more milk (3rd feed in 3 1/2 hours!!!) josh snuggled into me and fell asleep ... that was 2 hours ago now, so he's down for the night (which means that I've got a few hours til he wakes again).

For those of you with older children does it really get easier as they get older? Josh wants to stand up all the time and climb up on things. When do they understand when you say no (of course, doing what you say is another matter)? He's such a handful at the moment - standing up in the middle of the cast iron bath and reaching for the hot tap is a good example!

Ok, to end the night, a funny story. Last night my dh was trying to rock Josh to sleep in the rocking chair. Josh had his dummy, but as usual was playing with it, despite my dh's efforts to stop it. Then, all of a sudden Josh took his dummy out and put it in my dh's mouth! My dh was so shocked and he laughed ... then Josh gave the most infectious, adult like, laugh that we've heard. I heard it from the other room and went in to find both of them giggling in the rocking chair! Dh gave up on putting Josh to sleep at that point btw and let him get back up to play for a bit longer!

Tabby

lol Mim They sound like a couple of mischievous kids. what a precious moment.

older kids..hmm I wouldnt say it gets easier but I do believe that its never too early to start. Katie already starting to know what "no" means, have only ever used it for important things like power points cords oven etc. Not for pulling hair or mischievous things like that.
example tonight the boys were playing ps2 and she wanted the control cords, crawling at them and as soon as she went for it I sternly say "no" and pull her hand away/ or removing her from that area. After about 3 goes she gave up and went for her toys instead.
So basically, only ever use no for the more important things and say it sternly while removing their hand from what ever it is. In time he will learn.
DS2 was a terror but it even worked for him.

I hope that helps, is that what sort of thing you were after?

Cat: YAY for dh home coming! Going to be a happy Cameron tomorrow am sure. Glad hes sleeping better now the teeth are through too.
LOL @ your remembering the feet thing then.
Have a happy home coming for dh ;)

Alexander did a funny thing yesterday with dh. They were lying together after alex had a bit of a dose lying nest to dh. Bubby woke up and put his hand on dh chest and said "dadda", and they chatted some more and he again put his hand on dh's chest and said "dadda". Dh almost cried, he thought it was sooo beautiful!

I have checked in over the last few days then have been disturbed and never a chance to post as I am being pestered now by DD1, Hang on a minute.......

Okay, shes sorted!

Tabby- Sorry to hear about the passing of your dog, you really dont realise how bigger part they play in your life unitl you have to say goodbye- And a bummer for A/f- she just wont leave you alone!!

Yeah Kelsey for crawling:smiliedance: !!

wild at heart- How beautiful is Alex? Dh has been waiting for so long for those words and finally this week Bridget came out with it "Dadda", he is so proud!

mim1- You ask about older children- does it get easier, yeah it does but not for a while!! And is it lack of understanding or selective hearning?? That is the question- It is not that bad but I think until dd1 was about 4 was when things really settled down and life seemed easier. (hope I have not scared you!)

I finally went off to the Dr on Friday. I am now due the 6th of March according to 13 week u/s. 1 day forward is one day closer:yelclap: !! I have a scan on Oct 31st and I will be a day off 22 weeks- so moving really fast it seems.

Bridget is really well- she gets about so quick now, all around the house exploring and getting into things she has always wanted to. A complete chatterbox and absolutely adorable. oh and talking adorable, what a beautiful avatar picture Freddie of little Hamish, just so cute!!

Anyways best go and get my washing done for today!

liviesmum: Wow its going fast, 22 weeks at end month! Has your bump got bigger quicker this time round?

AF is really painful this time round! Tried panadol didnt do much, any suggestions?
So not used to it, either on depo ( no af ) or was pregnant.
A good sign the depo has totally worn off though, having a decent af as painful as those cramps might be.

Off to take ds1 for what is hopefully his last driving lesson. hes taking it wed 930am, so hopefully passes and he can take me out without the supervision and just casual.

hope everyones having a good w.e

v. quick post as I'm supposed to be working. Thanks liviesmum re avatar - I think its a gorgeous photo too!! Tabby, better to try nurofen than panadol as nurofen is a muscle relaxant so best for cramps. works for me anyway.

Hi everyone

Tabby -b :hugs: Sorry to here about Sasha.

Havent really had time to read thru all the posts fromt he last few days, so sorry no other personals.
Sierra is sick. Has a bad cold & is very grumpy. DD1 started with it on friday & by yesterday Sierra & DH had it. I think its just from the stupid Melbourne weather. 30 degrees one day, 16 the next. Today is 33 & tomorrow supposed to be 18... so stupid.
I got Sierra's photos back on friday so i will have to post them soon.
Hope everyone is having a good w.e

lol will grab next time.

tiredmummy: Sorry to hear Sierra is sick, we have that same silly weather here as well! Rain one day and 26-29 the next! Looking forward to seeing your pics

I think Katie is teething again, runny poops and when at mums was a bit cranky pants, not bad but just not her normal self they said, plus dribbling has started again and only ate half her lunch.

mim1
21-10-2007, 06:09 PM
Yeah, stupid weather. I've had enough of Josh feeding whenever he wants ... I was used to the 4 - 5 feeds a day, but the other day it was 4 feeds in 6 hours or some such nonsense. So, today I put my foot down, asked dh for help and told Josh it was going to be at least 3 hours between feeds. BUT, it's over 35! What was I thinking? Anyway, I did get a rest for nearly 2 hours before having to get up and feed him, so that was great! But, then he slept for 2 hours late in the afternoon (4 - 6), so it's after 7pm and he's going strong!

tabby ... nurofen or nurolasts work well for me. Panadol is pretty useless.

Better keep chasing the crawling josh around the house ...

gets better at 4 ... well that's something to look forward to :)

BEAUTIFUL photos of Sierra!! She looks so dainty and elegant :)

:hugs: for Tabby just coz I think you probably need them!

Loved reading the funny stories!! Isn't it so lovely all these memories and future 21st stories being made!

Caitlin is talking her mouth off and climbing on everything - hates to be held.. has to be straight on the floor and over to something to pull herself up (whether this be a kitchen chair or a PIECE OF PAPER for goodness sake!)

It's all happened so quickly that the next question on our lips is "when will she be walking?" :O I guess they're getting closer to that elusive first year. She just seems to be suddenly developing at break-neck speeds... mind you, she has a lot to catch up!!

Re: getting easier. I am finding Caitlin so much easier now that she can entertain herself for 10 mintues or so at a time. And now that she puts herself to sleep and actually EATS .. what more could I ask for!! I know there are some tricky times ahead....

Have a lovely week everyone :)

Tiredmummy, pics are gorgeous!

Cordelia, DS1 crawled and cruised furniture at 7 months but didn't actually walk till 14months.

DFB, the snow sounds lovely - especially if you are warm & cosy inside.

Us - Lovely weekend, went to the park & beach yesterday. DS1 stayed in the water till he was shaking & blue (refused to get out till I came to get him) M has been his usual cheery self. DH & I escaped on our own while the outlaws did a rare babysitting gig. We had to do some work stuff but managed a nice lunch, an uninterrupted snuggle plus shopping as well - what else does a girl need?

Almost forgot - regarding boy bits and shoe size - DS1 has little feet (size 8-9 even though 101cm tall at 3yrs) but is rather well endowed compared to his best mate who is 1kg heavier, same height and wears a 10-11 size shoe.

Tabby

Sammy: Your weekend sounds lovely, nice to connect again with DH/DP's. lol @ ds1, my ds1 was the same, loved any form of water no matter how cold it would be. even the bath time once he was able to be left alone would be a hr or more, with constant top ups keeping it warm until I said enough lol.

DFB: How wonderful! Never seen snow myself but always wanted to. hope your keeping nice and snug throughout. Can you get a pic next time it falls? :)

Cordelia: thanks for the hugs! well needed yes and much appreciated xx
Wonderful to hear of Caitlin's lightning speed catch up and the eating/sleeping is all good too! Shes bypassed Katie on the climbing!

tired mummy: What adorable pics! very well done and love the bowl one too lol.

thanks Mim and freddie, the nurofen was much better! cant believe how crampy is at the moment :( easing today, hurts mostly when sitting so went for a huge walk, feeling heaps better. Is also great when walking as I get to chill and relax listening to my mp3's and come home feeling energized and happy.

Took our other dog skitz (whos 14 months) with us this morning, hadnt been for along time as taking 2 when Sasha was here was just too much. He got ran over a couple of times on the front wheels but soon worked it out not to try get in front lol.

LOL Mim about Josh putting the dummy in DH's mouth. Cameron has been doing similar thing, tries to put his half chewed teething rusks in my mouth. Mmmmm...yummy!

The little man is enjoying having his dad home. Was a few minutes of stunned silence Sunday morning when DH went to get him up instead of the mummy he was expecting but soon all smiles. Wouldn't you know, after 6 weeks of incessant 'Dadadadad', now that DH is home all Cameron will say is 'Mumumum'. So cheeky though, It's almost like he is refusing to say it on purpose. DH says 'say Dada' and C says 'uhuh...mumumum'.

Tabby- Happy 10 months Katie, My gosh where has the time gone? And yes the bump is very much there, Iwould say same size now as I was 30 weeks with Bridget! It started growing very quickly!

Tiredmummy- Great pics of Sierra, who did you get to do those ones?

Me- Feeling a bit down in the dumps over Dh's family. The SIL usually spends alternate:xmastree: Xmas with her parents (MIL & FIL), and this year is the year she is away. We normally catch up after Xmas and have our Xmas dinner then This year Dh and i (& girls) are going away for 3 weeks and I have tried to see if we can do Xmas dinner before Xmas so the kids dont miss out on that family time. Sounds fair enough- well talking to the MIL today, she made me feel like we were less important and that her daughter did not know what they were doing so pretty much everyone would have to fit in with her!!!:hair: Sorry for the vent:ecomcity: but trying to talk to Dh about it now and he thinks I am a complete B!tch!! I was just trying to get the family together so that my children dont miss out!! Am I being unreasonable (if you have not tuned out by now!! Ha ha).

Hi ladies

Tabby - :hugs: for you. Your Sasha was such a beautiful dog and she probably went to heaven a happy mutt because she was cuddled to the end. I had a tear when I read about her as we can all relate to losing a pet when they are a part of the family!

Happy 10 months katie!!!

Mim - Yes, it does get easier with the kids. Try to think back to when Josh was first born and how much easier things are now.....I suppose at every stage of their lives we are faced with different challenges. My DS is nearly 3 and he has 'selective hearing' and also drives me nuts sometimes with his whinging. I asked my mum the other day when it will stop and she said "When he is about 30 and has his own kids".....

Liviesmum - You poor thing feeling down!!! I don't think you are being unreasonable. After all - I always think that christmas is about the kids. Sometimes I think our DH's can be a bit sensitive when it comes to their mummy's!!!

tired mummy - loved the photos. oh so cute.

Funny stories - have loved your cute bubba stories everyone. Don't forget to write this stuff in your baby books so you will always remember!

Us - Well kelsey is still crawling around very slowly. She hasn't ventured out onto the tiles yet and isn't going very fast but it is a start.

Cordelia - My DS was like Sammy's - he was crawling and cruising at 7 months but didn't walk until 13 months. We all kept thinking he was going to walk early. On the other hand - some can be like DFB's Clea!

Well, i'd better go - have lost track of everything. Sorry if I forgot anything...

Take care

tabby ... those are great photos!

lukeandmattsmum ... matt has so many teeth! He's so cute!

I'm typing this to the noise of a giggly baby boy in his highchair eating a rusk ... and he's now got rusk hair - gross!

dh is really sick with nasty gastro complete with a temperature, so we're really hoping that josh and I don't get it too.

Better go deal with rusk hair boy!

Thanks, guys for your thoughts. I have actually taken the day off today as mum is really busy renovating their house to sell and she wanted today off (babysitting) to get the kitchen/dinning area finished. she asked after the MIL situation yesterday and I did not feel like ringing her for a favour so I thought bugger it, I will have a FACS day!!

Great photos Tabby of you and the girls and the bubbas, I almost feel like fyling over to Perth just to meet you all!!

Lukeandmattsmum, you have some great phots too! he looks like he would be into everything and all over the place!!

Flicka- It is so funny when they hit the tiles, they have to learn to change their crawling technique so they dont keep slipping. Bridget has it worked out now but funny when she first started to roam!

Anyways better make the most of this time and get some of my reports done, yes it is that time of the year again!

Lukeandmattsmum: Awesome pics! Love the bandana one, so cute.
Hope Matt has some good naps today and a better night for you.

mim: :fingerscrossed: for the gastro to bypass you and lovely Josh! Youve both had enough of late without another bout of sickness xxx

liviesmum: I couldnt type much response last night as DP was right beside me, have to tread carefully re: il's lol. Anyhow I thought of you a lot and how hard it is to please everyone, this yr I upset my mum by accepting MIL's invite for xmas day lunch. wrong move!!!!! Anyhow I smoothed it out but letting my parents have Katies 1st birthday alone ( xmas eve ) so told her what was better the first birthday or xmas? ahhhh it worked lol but in the end I told MIL mum was a bit upset and she invited my parents up there for xmas day as well and they accepted!!! I was peeved that they wernt included from the get go anyhow, She forgets I had a full family before DP i think.
anyhow So everyones happy now lol. again dont stress hun as your bound to "upset" someone in some way every year regardless of how you do it in my opinion but they get over it and it all comes together fine in the end :hugs:

I was just at the docs getting my clomid for start day5-9 tomorrow. good news! Its on the cheap list now so instead of $40 it was $5.95!! No stock at the mo so have to go back at 4.
cr@ppy news, gp says I need to watch Katies weight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ( he said this after picking her up and saying how heavy she was) He suggested cutting back her formula intake as she likes her food but still having heaps of milk. I had already started that yesterday anyhow, 3 x 200 a day now, before it was anything up to 1000mils. Might be why shes a bit later to pull her self up maybe? and the crawling hasnt progressed far... I dunno..bloody ell, why did he have say that after last week
Her solids are fine, no fats/sugars etc..all healthy mostly, cept for the odd bicky.

Those of 3 solids and snacks, how much milk do you think you average a day?

Thanks for that Tabby- all will be ok, I just think I am in the wrong for trying to organise things again. It is not that I want to organise people, it is really so I can get myself organised as I too have another family to consider that time of the year. It is just that the SIL is the MIL's only daughter, and it is like "ALL HAIL THE AND ONLY!"- i am sick of not being considered of having another part of my life too- and what makes it all worse is that the SIL's DH is the pastor of a church- so he is even more important than everyone!! :ecomcity: My gosh I really have gone on!!
Oh and in regards to Katies weight "WHAT THE?" she looks (in the pics) completely normal, fine, AOK to me!!

Hi

Tabby - When Kelsey had her 8 month check up the CHN said Kelsey was a bit on the chubby side (way over the 97th percentile) and that sometimes they will find it hard to get moving because they are such big bubs. She suggested keeping up the fruit, veges and meat. I have added mashed baked beans to her diet for low fat protein and have cut out all sweet desserts. CHN said no custard, no heinz desserts in a jar, no sweet biscuits. For dessert at lunch and dinner Kelsey has yoghurt. I know it sounds a bit silly - but I don't think it is putting them on a diet as such. I just think that cutting out any extra calories is important until they start to get moving. CHN said once Kelsey starts crawling properly she can go back to having the extras as she will need the energy....

Mim - Hope your DH is on the mend and doesn't share it around.

Oh and by the way Tabby, Kelsey is also saying 'ga' alot at the moment but it ends up like 'gugugug'.

Well my girl is napping so I am off to put my feet up for a little while......

xxx

PS love the photos you posted Tabby and yours too Lukeandmattsmum!

On the topic of Christmas we haven't really had big discussions yet, but we usually have lunch at the IL's and dinner at my parents house. BUT, one of my SIL's has her family thing at night. I was in the other room at family dinner last night but I think I heard her talking about not wanting to celebrate Christmas with us this year ... to start her intimate family (her, my brother and their 8 month old) celebrations instead. I hope that's not the case. I'm not ready to give up our extended family celebrations on Christmas day just yet.

It is a real challenge though to keep everyone happy. My MIL plans their family get together's months in advance, sometimes so far in advance that we forget about them! My mum doesn't plan more than a week or two in advance and then gets upset if we don't turn up (eg. for mother's day). Mother's Day was a disaster this year as we were away for the weekend and my MIL completely overreacted and got extremely upset. I'm not looking forward to telling her that I'm interstate for a conference next Mother's day!

thanks Liviesmum and Flicka!
I meant to ask about baked beans a few weeks ago. so now I know lol.
Other than the odd bicky here and there, not even one a day, like 3 a week maybe I dont think there is anymore "high" cal foods, shes mainly yogurts / meats and lots of fruit and vegs so just might be the huge amount of milk she was still having as well as 3 meals! A few weeks back it was 800-1000!
A sample day now would be

wake: 100 mils
breakfast: half weetbix
nap: 200 mils
snack: half piece of toast with vegemite
lunch: yogurt and cheese bits or a cruskit
nap: 200 mils
snack: slice cheese or piece of fruit.occasional milk arrowroot biccy
dinner meat and veg/ fruit a hr later with us.
bed: 200mils

No custards/ no deserts other than fruits.

As of this morning the 100 wake one has gone as she wasnt that interested anyhow, just made breaky earlier.
Doesnt seem all that much really......

tabby... that doesn't sound like a lot to me. I don't think anyone really knows how much is 'too much' ... it's a very contenious topic at the moment. If she isn't going up in percentiles (eg. was on the 50th, now is on the 90th) then I wouldn't worry.

Flicka
23-10-2007, 03:20 PM
I tend to agree with you Mim - if there is no huge jump in where bub is on the percentile chart, it is probably of no concern.

Christmas - Well, we don't really have to worry too much about pleasing family at christmas. We don't have any family that live here so we almost always have xmas with just us. My MIL refuses to come to our place for xmas as she thinks it is unfair for us to expect her to leave her home and other grandkids.......MIL has pressured us to go to her place for xmas but DH and I both usually have to work over xmas and can't get time off. Plus with mIL's attitude I think "why should I make the effort". She wanted us to visit last year for chrissy and couldn't accept the fact that I was 37 weeks preg and didn't want to travel.

My parents live overseas however have a house here with all of their stuff. They are coming home for xmas this year so it will be nice to spend some time with them. My parents are so easy-going compared to DH's.

What has everyone organised for pressies for their bubs for xmas?

tabby - your meal plan looks totally normal. Don't forget to get low-salt baked beans! (You probably already knew that though!:p ).

Christmas pressies ... I know I should be excited about buying stuff for Josh and maybe I'll get more excited close to the time, but he's got so much stuff already and my MIL is NUTS and is buying him so much stuff I doubt there will be much more I'll need in the toy department after Christmas and his birthday.

Baked beans ... one of the bubs in my mother's group eats them straight from the can - no need to mash. Josh is still on puree food only and choked badly last night when we tried mashed potato/pumpkin, despite the fact that it was mixed with water to thin it down. So, mashed baked beans or unmashed baked beans are both out for now ... pity.

Flicka, M is getting the Fisher Price rocking horse and a soft, fabric book from us for Xmas. We are not going overboard and he already has so much plus DS1's toys.

Mim, we are just starting lumpier foods. Baked beans squashed into mashed potato with cheese thru it makes a great start. DS1 still has it occasionally (unsquashed) when I have been a bit disorganised at dinnertime!

Tabby, doesn't sound like a lot of food to me either. Your son's pics were great, particularly liked the shot of Charis & Hunter!

Hated going to my CHN for stupid comments like those that make me doubt myself and thought going to gp was a "better" way for us lol!?
anyhow all over now, to hell with what they think, shes happy and glowingly healthy.

Sammy: Oh I was thinking a rocking horse as well! I think they'll love it! Yep the one of Charis and Hunter is such a natural unposed photo, my fav too.

Mim: Thanks for the reassurance :hugs:

Flicka: yep, I grabbed some right after I left here and visited Mums with bakedbeans in hand for lunch. No need to mash, shes been eating bigger pieces than bakedbeans, so she was fine with them, she loved em! so thanks for that.

Lukeandmattsmum, forgot to mention your pics were gorgeous too.

DH and I have separately come up with a new nickname for M (quite scary how similarly we think) At the moment M is our 'little meercat' He rolls then pops up on his forearms for a look around, then down again for the next roll - quite hilarious!

Got a lovely comment from a neighbour yesterday, she says my boys are always so smiley - she is due with #1 in 4weeks and wanted to know what I do to them? I'm lucky I have 2 such social little boys, although between 4-7pm (arsenic hours) they don't seem so smiley!

Snow and cheap clomid both sound like just lovely things for different parts of the world DragonFlyBlu and Tabby.

Love the little meerkat Michael, v v cute SammyG.

Hunter disappeared from his play area when I was away for 2mins I could still hear him and then heard him giggling and GRINNING ear to ear to my delighted incredulity (note- it is still a novelty for me :) Cordelia esp!!) asking where he was. Of course was under the high chair all by virtue of the arm work out that commando crawling is. I still fear the day he realises he has knees!

I'd add myself to the list of thinking Katie is just perfect, and as for weight not too heavy, not too light. Some heavy bubs out there and she is certainly not one. I thought they removed all the weight tables from the purple books, just so parents wouldn't stress out. Her food sounds just great too.

Love the 'ga' of Kelsey and the 'gaars,' was that Katies word?? Hunter says 'dor', shorter than door, it has the same meaning of 'what's this'..I think.

Mim1 that food combo of the baked beans sounds good, are there any that taste ok for us too?? I bought the 'organic' ones and the tomato sauce was so ickky. Hope Josh's Dads gastro is all getting better, no fun at all, had it myself 10days ago, took about 5days to be right.

Cat13, v v cute about the MumMum and the non-DadadDAd anymore. How has Cameron most noticeably changed in the time his Dad's been away?

Oh and photos, great great shots by your DS Tabby, pls congratulate him again for me!! Didn't know H and I were so serious looking. Great shots of Katie too, wonderful expressions and also the lovely Hamish full of mirth and climbing beans. :) Oh and Sierra in the bowl is just beautiful. Wow what a great shot!!!! V classic shot.

Flicka what does that mean for Kelsey in 5wks???

Condolences about all the family Xmas organisations, reckon Tabby is on it about the birthday-Xmas bargain, two special days. I am v glad quite a bit of the time that I don't have to do any IL activities if they clash.. Not great for H's Dad who will probably torn between where he spends his Xmas.. three options as he has another son too, ecck hadn't thought presents for the bubs!!??
:xmastree: wrapping paper :) maybe I'll look up these rocking horses..can't other people just buy them pressies :) or are we supposed to give them the bestest pressies??

Happy restful nights all!!

Xmas gatherings - I must be very lucky. All our family have been very understanding that it's impossible to spend every xmas together since we move around so much. We used to be on a 3 year rotation - my parents (Melb), DH's dad (NSW central coast) & DH's mum (Perth). Now that we have C I think we will add a 4th into the mix being our own xmas at home and whoever wants to make the trek is welcome. This xmas is Melb though because stayed put last year due to C being due plus I am a bridesmaid in Melb on the 29th Dec.

baked beans - not fussed on mashed beans here but will eat them whole.

In response to your question Charis, biggest changes in C while DH was away 6 weeks were: 2 first teeth making an appearance, going from being relatively stationary to rolling all over the house, going from sitting with support to sitting solo, going from floppy legged man to loving standing and bearing weight on his legs, lots more talkative, able to feed self finger foods. Yikes - what do the next 6 weeks bring!

Whoops. nap time is over and I was meant to be trying to get some work done :o

Hi everyone

Xmas - Not doing alot with family. As you all know DD1 b'day is Christmas day & DD2 is Boxing Day so we tend to just do something on both days all together. Its hard having b'day parties for the girls too as a lot of people already have plans etc.

Baked Beans - Havent tried them yet. Sierra hates lumps of food, still retches on them & then spits them out. With some things she is ok though, i think it will just take her a little while longer than it did with DD1 & 2.

Us - Sierra is getting over her cold, still has lots of snot but it alot happier. Still having restless sleeps but only because of the snot & blocked nose. Shes standing up everywhere & getting into everything. DD1 is helping out alot by watching her & making sure she doesnt hurt herself or get into anything dangerous.
DH is taking me out on Saturday for my b'day. Just to dinner & a movie, but it will be nice to have a few hours break & adult conversations lol.

tiredmummy: Good too hear that Sierra is getting over the cold. Surely we are on the last stretch of horrid flus/colds!
In case I forget happybirthday for Sunday and hope its a lovely day for you xx

Cat: Sounds like a great plan with the rotation thing, might have to start that here as of next year. Would certainly make things easier thats for sure.

Charis: Yep garrr is Katies word for anything, sounds like car but with a G, everything is garr.
Thankyou for your lovely comments re: Katie AND your gorgeuos pm! Made my day. xxx
Had to giggle at H exploring his high chair, specially as this morning I popped Katie on the matt in lounge to have her morning drink and 2 mins later I hear her coming round the corner and she giggled, finally she also has worked out that she can actually get places ( to me mostly lol). Wont be long for us now!!!!

Sammy: Makes you feel great those comments As Katie is a giggler I get those all the time, shes just all smiles and laughs, and when I tell them shes like that ALL the time im sure they think I exaggerate lol.
Totally love her outlook on life, sure hope it stays that way. You boys sound just adorable!
LOL @ meercat!

DS1 is now at his driving test! :fingerscrossed: for him here.

Hi ladies

Well, my little Kelsey is having a quick nap so I thought I would pop in and see how you all are.

Charis - when I go back to work my mum is coming home from Japan for 2 months. Mum and DH are going to juggle Kelsey until she starts day care in January. I am working 3 days in the office and 1 day from home so I get the best of both worlds.

Speaking of daycare - DS came home yesterday with a sunburnt face  . I was livid about it as he has very fair skin and some freckles already. He is really good about wearing his hat but apparently they lost is at kindy (??) and can't find it. They hadn't even noticed he wasn't wearing it!! AND he had 2 badly skinned/grazed knees totally covered in dirt that no one had bothered to clean up. I went in and put a bomb under them this morning but as usual they have all the excuses in the world. Sorry for my rant - I'm just really annoyed.

Sammy - I am going to try the beans/mash/cheese mix too. The kids and I often have beans and toast for dinner when DH is at work. What are you reading at the moment?

Christmas pressies - Dh is going to build the kids a fort with a swing for xmas. Kelsey is a bit young but she will enjoy the swing. We also go her one of those fisher price walk/ride lions and a couple of other small things. I have gone overboard on DS in the past but in reality he gets so many presents from our families it is wiser to just get one 'big' gift and a couple of small things IMO. My house already looks like a toyworld explosion so it will be worse after xmas now there are 2 kids!
charis - you should look at the fisher price car for Hunter. It is a push along that converts to a ride on. It makes great sounds. I wanted one for Kelsey but DH thought it was for a boy and insisted the lion was more 'girly' .

Take care everyone. I'm going to put my feet up as Kelsey woke 3 times last night - very unusual for her.

What age does it get better????I think the term is 'relative'. Once they can talk, it's non-stop. Once they can hear and understand they can choose to ignore you. Then you've got the "but WHY" stage, and no simple answer will ever do. It's always changing.

Me- Feeling a bit down in the dumps over Dh's family. The SIL usually spends alternate Xmas with her parents (MIL & FIL), and this year is the year she is away. We normally catch up after Xmas and have our Xmas dinner then This year Dh and i (& girls) are going away for 3 weeks and I have tried to see if we can do Xmas dinner before Xmas so the kids dont miss out on that family time. Sounds fair enough- well talking to the MIL today, she made me feel like we were less important and that her daughter did not know what they were doing so pretty much everyone would have to fit in with her!!! Sorry for the vent but trying to talk to Dh about it now and he thinks I am a complete B!tch!! I was just trying to get the family together so that my children dont miss out!! Am I being unreasonable (if you have not tuned out by now!! Ha ha).
No, definately not! If you don't start to plan who, when and where for Christmas now, then your kids will miss out.

What has everyone organised for pressies for their bubs for xmas?

I've got Christmas all done, though will continue buying the extras. It's hard for TJ this year as we've got a lot of toys from DD1 and I don't want to buy stuff she's not going to get much use out of. She's getting:
Daycare Santa - Tappy Turtle
Santa - Croc Xylaphone
Us - FP Doll and maybe something else if it appeals to me.
The rest I'll save for her birthday (and get others to buy). FP Little People Castle and accessories, FP Popper, Sleeping Bag, Fold out lounge, Doll pram.
:reindeer: This year DH flies out Christmas morning (taxi arrives at 5am), so we'll do a Christmas with him the day before then drive up to Moora (2 hours north) Christmas morning to my sisters who has 3 kids 5, 2 and 4months.

Perthies, please let me know which date suits you best for a Christmas get together in my :xmas: thread.

A sh!tty night with TJ last night. By mistake I gave her mornay made with real milk:banghead: . So she had wind from about 2 onwards.

Have a great day!

Hi everyone - how nice and summery it is getting!

Very exciting day for us - I finally worked out how to stick Caitlin's bike seat on the bike so we went for our first bikeride!! She LOVED it!! Can't work out her helmet very well so it kept slightly sliding onto her face but other than that - BRILLIANT. It's called a "wee-ride" I highly recommend it (altho it's a @*$&% to put together) It says on the packet not to use til their 12 months but the guy at the bike shop reckons it's ok fi they can hold the weight of a helmet on their head and sit up unassisted. yay!

Christmas - This is a VERY sore subject. DH's parents keep coming over from Adelaide [every year] and then we have to put up with the agony of them spending Christmas with my family. Why can't we have a year with my family and then a year with them! I HATE it.. Christmas should be fun and enjoyable. And I'm excited about our first (well, second but the 1st doesn't really count!) Christmas together. Families are so annoying.

What age does it get better? NOW!! Really enjoying Caitlin right now (except for the whole crawling everywhere where she shouldnt be - went over to the dog's dinner bowl yestereday - YUCK) I know that this is only temporary tho - there are some many ups and downs with parenthood aren't there.

Christmas - it makes it a litte bit hard having Caitlin born on the 23rd (as many of you experience or will experrience already!)... DH wants to buy her one of those clam sandpits and fill it with coloured balls. I want to buy her some clothes and we want to buy her a toy phone. Love to get her some blocks and maybe some kind of cart to carry stuff round in.

I'd forgotten about Santa! How exciting!! Santa hasn't visited our house b4!!!

baked beans - caitlin hated them. Re: weight. We were told to feed Caitlin lots of dairy, breads, pastas etc. to put on weight. I guess to do the oppostie you'd stick to fruit etc. but liek everyone has said, you know whether she's too heavy - and if she's started moving and healthy and happy then what more could you ask?

wild at heart

 EVERYONE!!!

you can never win Tabby- I felt that before, everyone was saying Alex was too skinny and didn't eat enough.. but NOW (afetr being told from CHN to get hom to eat MORE) he is porking up.. but not quite on 50th %ile.. no crawling .. so maybe that adds to weight gain.. it's hard to know and when they want food its hard to distract them.. especially now with the little tanties!! Often feels easier when out and shopping to give alex a biccy to keep occupied.. you can't do that with yoghurt- he he.

Good luck getting the balance right!! q

Yah for the bike ride!
Christmas & IL's...maybe it's time to suggest you'll see them for Christmas next year, or organise your family to have Christmas somewhere your IL's can't go i.e. next year book holiday cabins somewhere?
Clams/half shells are great, we've got one(2 halves). It's been a sandpit, controlled environment (DD1 couldn't crawl out of) for outside play and a paddling pool. You will definately get lots of use out of one.
:smiliedance: a great night with TJ last night. Was very careful about her dinner. Went down at 7.30, resettled at 11, woke at 3.30 for a quick bottle then woke up for the day at 5.45. :fingerscrossed: I get a couple more of these soon.

Can't wait until it's time to start putting up the :xmastree: decorations and lights. DD1 is getting very excited about it as the shops are putting up their decorations already. I think ours will go up soon after we get home from holidays.

Have a great day!

mouse ... at what age couldn't dd1 climb out of a clam shell?

Josh tried climbing up a window today ... successfully getting up onto the lower window sill (10cm off the ground). I'm watching him at the couch and the toy box lifting his leg up and down trying to find something to put his foot on so he can get up higher. I've got a climber in the making ! Eik!

Hi all! M has been sh!tty all day today, still eating & sleeping(actually drinking more formula than usual) but still very whingey - maybe more teeth on the way as it's been over 6 weeks since 1st 2 popped up!

Mim, DS1 didn't like climbing out of anything that could move until recently but I guess you are not going to have that problem.

Mouse, hope the good nights continue!

Cordelia - the bike riding sounds like lots of fun!

Flicka - I have just started the latest Kathy Reichs. Q - How is your DS1 doing with the TT. B uses a pull-up at night and usually nothing during his day sleep if he has one - has probably wet the bed during the day 4 times. When do we try for all night without a nappy? B's is wet 50% of the time in the morning so I'm guessing not for a while!

Chatted to a Dad today at Gymbaroo and asked what the gap was between his twin girls and little boy. This guy is super relaxed and cheerfully told me his eldest is almost 8, next is almost 7, then 5, twins 3 and youngest boy 22months. WOW!

Tabby - Yay for Ds1 :yelclap: Hope you are feeling better too. Oh & thanks for the b'day wishes for tomorrow too. Really looking forward to getting out without the little ones

Sammy - Sierra has been quite sh!tty too the last few days. She has had a cold but think there is more to it. Maybe the top teeth starting? Dont know, but hope it improves lol

Mim - I havent had any problems with Sierra trying to climb up on things yet. DD2 is my climber. She will still climb up on her chet of drawers (no matter how many times i tell her not too) & jumps off them. She has fallen a few times too but still that doesnt stop her. She will climb up on the roof of the car in the garage too... one day she will really hurt herself.

Has anyone noticed any seperation anxiety starting? Sierra has started getting really upset when i put her down for a nap ot night sleep. But if i sit next to her cot & stroke her hair she will go to sleep but if i dont and just walk out she gets really worked up. DD1 went thru this & sometimes shes still like it
Sierra has been doing it too when i sit her down & leave her with her toys but if DD1 or 2 is sitting there with her then shes fine.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

hey ladies -

Just a quick one from me as my little miss has decided she doesn't want to have an afternoon nap - I'm about to go in there and tell I am the mummy and I tell her when to sleep  .

Tired mummy - We have grizzles when I leave the room. Even if Kelsey is with DH - she would rather be with me.....I just try and ignore it. Sometimes I leave her playing for ages and she is fine but other times she just wants to be with me. I am dreading those first few weeks at daycare when she will cry every time I go - makes me so sad!

Sammy - Tough call on the night time nappy. We use a pull up during the day. If I know he hasn't had much to drink I let him go to bed in undies but more often than not he wears a pull up which is usually dry when he wakes. We are the same as you and have only had a handful of mistakes. At night we are still using nappies - I don't know about you but I don't think I am ready to get up twice a night to strip the bed if he wets!!! He often wakes in the morning dry but I am going to leave it a while and just be guided by him. Sounds like your DS is doing really well and I wouldn't rush into going nappy free at night - might be a backward step for him if he has some mistakes IYKWIM.
Reading - I'm reading ANOTHER Lesley Pearse "Hope". I am so addicted to these historical romances!

Well, take care.

Hi
I am new to BubHub just wanted to say hello to everyone! :)

My baby is currently crawling (sort of) he can't get his arm in synch with his legs! Does anyone else have that problem?

Welcome JanMum, hope you have lovely time in here with the rest of us mums.

Flicka - I just finished 4 Penny Vincenzi novels so need a change of pace from the family drama/romance. The new Monica Macierney (sp) is next on the list!

M's new fave food is my vege lasagna - it's a bugger to make (lots of layers) but it's something all 4 of us will eat and is a fave for DH too. Will have to make a super duper one next time and freeze some!

just a quick one as josh is waking up ...

janmum ... welcome. don't worry, real crawling is probably just around the corner. josh looked really strange when he was learning to crawl.

climbing ... i'm still traumatised by the story of my nephew, who at 18 months climbed onto the bench and jumped off causing a head injury. It left him concussed for days and he nearly needed a CT scan. It all happened in the blink of an eye. I was so hopeful I wouldn't have a climber. I don't know why I thought that was possible though, cause my dh climbs on anything and everything he can (he climbed on the top of SO many huge rocks when we went hiking last week).

tabby ... i hope your back is better. I got a bad spasm yesterday morning, just before I was due to go out for the morning. I could barely breathe, let alone move. Thankfully, dh was out of gastro 'quarintine', so he could help with josh ... when he wasn't nearly fainting from no energy that is! My back is heaps better today though, almost normal again. I hope it's the same for you.

josh is getting shocking separation anxiety and that's one of the things I'm finding hard about this stage. Our house is a huge, cluttered mess and dh & I are finally trying to clean it up. But, josh wants me in sight at all times and preferably within reach - therefore the playpen has very limited success.

gotta go ... he's really awake now and calling out ...

Hi everyone

I dont think I have been in here since the start of the month so lots to catch up on!!!!

I've only read the last couple of pages but I cant remember anything for personals. So I hope everyone is reasonably well without any major dramas!!

Us - Macy's sleeping has been a bit up and down lately. She did have a double ear infection which I think unsettled her for a bit so I have been getting up a couple of times a night just to resettle her but I am really noticing the interrupted sleep. She is cruising around all the furniture and starting to become interested in the cupboards when we open them. Have had to get into the habit of shutting the laundry door so she doesnt get into the cat food & litter. Still only 2 teeth, cant wait for the top 2 to finally bust thru - they are soooo close. I'll put a link to some new photos of her in the photo thread if I get time before work finishes

We are still looking for a house to buy, although not very actively at the moment, too much other stuff on our plates.

Hmm dont think there is anything else to report really. I'll be doing a HPT on the weekend so:fingerscrossed: for a BFP. I havent had a period all of October definately and dont think I had one in September. I really should write these things down to put me out of my misery

I have organised a 'girls night in' for the cancer council tonight so it will be a late one!! First night out on the town without hubby in a LONG time!!!

Hope everyone has a good weekend and gets a well deserved rest!!

Tabby
26-10-2007, 05:00 PM
korahblue: :fingerscrossed: for your test being BFP for you.

mim: Have since found out that i think its a kidney infection! back pain seems odd place and radiating from lower( under ribs), plus I wee'd every hr last night and thought it was the huge drink I had, Mum alerted me to it today as soon as I told her that, so have since taken 1000 of vit c and some ural. Am hoping wont need gp tomorrow for antibiotics and will be better by wakeup. Oh that and when I searched I found that nausea was also a sign, thought it strange that clomid had made me like it, guess its this instead.
Hope your back is better, know only too well of back issues, have had 3 surgerys on mine so was fretting a bit before and am glad is uti/kidneys actually. I knew it felt different!! just couldnt explain.

welcome janmum!! Whats your little ones name?
Katie is only just now getting her arm out from under on pushing forwards. Wouldnt worry just yet, they will work it out by trial and error

tired*mummy: all the best for a great day tomorrow xxx
Yes lots more separation anx here of late! Good news is that most of the time it passes as quick as it came.

Flicka: hope you got that afternoon nap sorted lol.

Sammy: wow thats some family that dad has huh!

oh and Katie is almost up all fours today , sort of a up / down / drag thing happening AND finally no face planting on sit to crawl possie YAY lol

got to go..miss awake
back later!

Tabby, take care of that UTI, about 4 yrs ago I had what I thought was a mild UTI - only feeling a little irritated and took lots of ural & water to flush my system but ended up waking in the middle of the night with what felt like hot knives digging into my side. It ended up with a trip to emergency and antibiotics via a drip.

:hugs: Tabby- I hope you feel better soon.

Hope everyone is going well- sounds like everyone moving around in own special way!! Haven't posted much but have been reading up...

Teeth/ separation anxiety: Alex has two teeth (since two weeks ago) and is now getting top two.. he is much worse with top two .. it also has coincided with his "I want mummy sooky times".. even if he has dh playing and cuddling him.. he becomes such a little helpless baby as soon as mummy walks in the room... like he forgets how to do everything...! Gee he has me wrapped around his little finger!!

Sleeps: Having great sleeps here- 6.30-6am each morning..! soo happy.

Working: I am working two days per week and dh looks after bubby while I am there- it's been really good as it helped dh become more involved in making day to day decisions rather than consulting with me.. i think it's worked perfectly and i don't have to worry about daycare.. yet!!

No crawling yet, but I think most of you can remember my concers re sitting (but of course after me freaking oyt about it he sat constantly the next day.. get they are devils aren't they).

Welcome janmun..

Climbing: Alex tries to climb up on things and thinks cds are soo fun..

Girls night in: Was supposed to go to a gir;'s night in lastweek but I work on fri and didn't want to go out again. It would have been great though.

Good luck with hpt korahblue. I am playing the waiting game myself.. I am late (only by two days) and have done a test but negative.. we will see..??

Anyone heard from Strawberry Shortcake- has she arrived?

can't think of anything else.. my baby gropwing up soo fast.. hmm maybe that's why I am so CLUCKY!

I looked it up and vitC can also help so downed 1000mg of tabs earlier
Sammy, yep am keeping a eye on it, will go docs tomorrow if same/worse.

Soooooooooooooo Quiet in here!!!!

Hello, Hellloooooo, Heeeellllllllllllooooooooo!!!!!!!!

M perfected his clapping technique yesterday, he is so proud of himself.

Tabby, hope you are feeling better today.

Tiredmummy, Happy Birthday, have a lovely day with your DH.

Wild & Korahblue, can't wait to hear about some :bfp: Good Luck!
My mum is on her way down from the coast (1.5hrs away) I am going to a tupperware party while she watches the boys and DH plays basketball, then I will have a few drinks with Mum to celebrate her retirement - she finished up on Thurs (she's 64) It's very exciting, we are hoping to see more of her now work won't be getting in the way!

helloooooooo Sammy! Does get quiet in here now and then.

Seeing as Cameron is having an excellent nap thought I'd pop in and say hello too. He's been pulling a few 2hr+ naps of late but usually in the afternoon. I just hope it keeps up. I'm finding that now it helps to let him get a bit tired before putting him down and no milk before sleep. I tried switching to solids before milk that some of you started doing but a bit of milk when he's starting to get sleepy and ready for a nap (if he doesn't fall asleep feeding) just seems to give him a second wind followed by a BIG grumpy crash.

Ok sleeps at night, 5.30am wake-ups of late. Think I may just have to get used to it as actually works out better if I want to get out for a walk before it's too hot. I try to go 7.30 at the latest and even then the sun has a sting.

My little man has awoken...just in time for his lunch!

A big hello to everyone and sorry for lack of personals (have read everyone's posts though:yes: )

Sun Cat? whats that lol. Its about 14 degrees here today and stormy!!!
The last 2 weeks I actually have been putting Katie down to naps with the bottle, shes been holding it alone now for ages so quite the pro, I listen on the monitor make sure alls well though. Makes for putting her down to nap much easier plus she sleeps a good 2 hrs since doing that.

Sammy: Lovely that mum is retiring, lots of time with you and the kids will be awesome! Im lucky as both mine retired a couple yrs ago, it really is great to have them rnd so much.
Yay for the clapping! its so cute isnt it, Katie learnt it then stopped it and refuses now to even try lol.

Am feeling much better, still can feel it, but think the ural and vitc have helped, got the cranberry juice just now and in fridge to chill. Annoyed that missed any symptoms UTI to progress to kidneys! Must have been same time as AF so didnt feel it coming I suppose. anyhow feels better today so thats good.
need to be good for lots of BD next week hehe.

Thanks for the welcome

Tabby - My bub's name is Jack. Hope you are feeling better.

We took him for his 2nd swimming lesson today. DH insists that he loved it, but Jack looked absolutely freezing to and I was waiting for someone to pull me up on child cruelty. The instructor even comment that 'he doesn't have much meat on his bones'. Oh well warmer weather soon!

Tabby
27-10-2007, 08:09 PM
Janmum: where abouts are you? Perth with the cold maybe ?

Im feeling a lot better thanks! Lots of the cranberry juice today..mm such a sweet drink considering no sugar!

Katie has been really out of sorts today, started with one of those horrid runny poos from teething, so bad again it burnt it first go!!! have lathered her in cream and shes asleep. think I can feel bottom side coming through. Symptoms are exactly the same anyhow, pooey and clingy. Also has a little cough.
Hope this doesnt last as long as last time, we were suppose to be going to gingin for the day tomorrow but dont like the chances of a cranky poopy baby in the car.

Oh and I forgot, Found out recently a couple of times that Katie is not one to be left to cry, if she gets hysterical she throws up really bad! I though the other week back when she did it was because she was unwell, but has happened a couple of times.
MIL said DP was the same as a baby/child till 5!

regardless of her feeling out of sorts shes managed to sit her self up from her back/ side and from the tummy/side today!

just a quick post ..

josh cracked at when he was weighed at the paed the other day and it took me a number of minutes to calm him down. I felt better when the paed said "he gets worked up doesn't he?". It's good to know that someone else recognises that my bub can be grumpy :).

josh breastfed 7 times on friday ... I made the mistake of counting the number of feeds he had cause it was annoying me. he's probably been having 6 - 7 feeds a day for weeks now that i think back ... that's with 3 solids feeds a day for the last week! So, I lost it overnight saturday morning and it ended up that dh took josh to bed with him and i got up at 6am (my back was sore lying in bed) ... that stretched josh's feed out to 8 hours! Gotta do that again! :)

tabby ... hope you feel even better today!

There's no keeping us mum's happy Mim. I've got the opposite situation with Cameron worrying me that he's not feeding frequently or long enough. Some days we've been down to 3 feeds and not very good ones at that. Although I know it's all fine and normal :ecomcity: :ecomcity: I have moments of doubt that he may be heading towards early weaning which I am definitely not ready for. Spose I should be happy that in this warmer weather he's more than happy to down his sippy cup of water instead of getting a drink from mum every 5 mins. And LOL at Josh's tantrum at the paed. Cameron is always good as gold when he has an audience, saves all the bad moods for home so no-one believes me he is ever anything but Mr Smiley.

Glad you are feeling better Tabby. MIL was tellling us Perth weather has not been great. They were down south at a beach the last week and came home to freezing weather and had to pull out their doggies knitted jumper because he got the shakes. Another hot one here today though  . Cameron spends the days in nappy & singlet and same at night in the lightest grobag with aircon on.

Good night

No news yet on the HPT, we have had people over all weekend and havent had the chance to get to the shop in secret. So I will have to go up the street at lunch time tmrw. I worked it out by looking back at my posts on here and I think its been 8 weeks since last AF. My cycle is usually around 5 weeks so hopefully some good news tomorrow, I might even do it at work I think!!! Although Im almost a bit scared in case it comes back negative

My Girls Night In went well, looks like we raised around $500 and everyone seemed to have a good time :yelclap:

Tabby hope the UTI clears up quickly for you. Just watch the vitamin C tablets as they can have a lot of sugar in them aswell.

Welcome to Janmum and Jack

Ohhhh yeh, Macy stood up a couple of times today all by herself for at least 5 seconds and took 1 step....arrrggghhhh another month or so and she will be walking:wizard: She did have a slight temp tonight before going to bed so fingers crossed it doesnt turn into anything. I dont think Ive managed more than 2 weeks in a row back at work without having a day off to look after her (not that I mind one little bit heheh)

So Im off to do a bit of research on homebirths [havent told hubby about that plan yet] Hope everyone has a magical week with their gorgeous children

Love us

It is such a lovely age, where they are now :smiliedance: Hunter is doing a fast commando crawl to everything now, umm, I think 3days so far..and is SO much happier. Now he chases the cat, in an attempt to touch her, comes to find me even when I was using a circular saw today..long way away, but in sight(he hates the noise, they all do I guess). He really enjoyed exploring his Grandpas floor/steps etc today! So far hasn't eaten anything untoward..but an enjo baby suit would be very sensible.

Welcome Jack and JanMum!! Great name. Oh yes and the same 'un-co' crawling here too, effective, but not moving on knees..!Oops was going to check if you're WA, as YES it was HAILING on Sat morning.

Tabby, hope v much that your kidneys are all better! So affecting everything aren't they, those UTIs ugh affect everything. Get it checked out if still frequency I reckon..oh maybe after the Cranberry is all drunk. Don't forget asparagus and eggplant for natural 'chlorines' ok ok so not a naturopath just have a hippy Mum. I've had an inflamed joint in foot for 2wks (weird!??) and it is affecting normal things/walking/running. But we're so lucky to be normally completely well too. So wonderful to have happy healthy kids. That's one of those things about the world that now REALLY make sense.

Flicka that is awful about your DSs sunburn. Good on you for making lots of noise about it! 3days + 1 home one sounds great. Perfect level of sharing the care and still time for you to be both roles at once. V lucky with flexible job.

Have reduced my work, resigned from one building being built and am much happier and have much more time! Still have 2 on the go..and some finish up work, but much less stressed! No idea if I'll be wanting to work less or more in a year or so..and keeping own business running is much less important now than it ever has been!! breastfeeding brain. But think there will always be work I can pick up. Probably wont.. but the WA economy esp in building is so busy. Anyone else realising their career is no longer what they care about?? Or is that just so obvious and its taken me 9months to get it! ?? :):ecomcity:

Mim1 that is scary and amazing about Josh and so 'eeeeck' about your nephew. Its not the climbing that is the problem, it is the landing!!! I used to climb door frames, actually anything, grew up and rock climbed (though am too short really!) but climbing is not the prob...it is realising ones mortality (~age 20) and it can only be done safely with thick mattresses below....

SammyG, that veg lasagne sounds great!!!!Wow as for the Dad of 6, wow. Maybe he was on valium :) kidding! But such lovely ages and must all be v close.. and he's enjoying them all. I think any parent is amazing and those with more than 1 kid, just astonishing..so 6!!!!!Gosh makes me clucky!

HAppy Birthday for Tired Mummy!!!!! Hope your day was v v special. A lovely time to be celebrated. Hope all your lovely girls thought it was great to have you the birthday girl :)

Cordelia, great about Caitlins first 'ride'! Excellent to hear. My bike is in at the 'shop' getting the carrier fitted as a bday pressy from H's Dad to me. Nice thought, I so miss riding!!!!! B day next week. WHat are the helmet details??

Will look up some FP cars etc now, thanks for that Flicka! Great suggestion :) Did need a nudge and the sound of a car is just great. Truck even better perhaps...

Night all!! Sleep TJ for Mummy. H still up the same I think.

Goodluck all for the positive results!!! Night Night.

tiredmummy ... happybirthday

charis ... about the climbing not being the problem, just the landing. Thanks for that, I'll keep it in mind and if all else fails invest in lots of foam mattresses. He falls from standing all day - it's the only way he can get down ... he rarely cries, just realises he's down and crawls or climbs again!

work ... I just got my dream job for next year, starting feb 2008. I'm looking forward to that job, but I'm still very torn about leaving josh, mostly because it means stopping breastfeeding. The timing is bad, cause mum is going to look after him next year and she wants 'practice days', but can't do them between christmas and a week before I return to work ... so I need to start weaning soon.

josh is awake, gotta go!

Mim, Congrats on job & good luck weaning.

Charis - look out for peek-a-boo blocks, DS1 has a set that came with a FP dump truck. They are v- cute! About work - it needed to be a gradual stop for me, I worked FT before DS1, casual from when he was 10wks but not tempted to go back at all this time. I'm contemplating starting a cake decorating business when I have more experience, hopefully by the time the boys are bigger I'll be lots better. I'm practicing with friends in the meantime & looking into a PT course.

M is now doing a weird half roll/commando crawl with knees coming into play every so often - crawling not far off I think.

V Tired this morning, DS1 up most of the night, temp, rapid, shallow breathing and vomiting. Mum was an amazing help but now we are both stuffed. She's off having a well deserved nap with M now and I'm killing time before going to the Dr.

Mim - Congrats on the job.

Well had a nice b'day. Dh & i took the kids down the beach for a little while & got them an ice cream before dropping them off at MIL. Dh took me to a nice resturant near in the city near the bay & it was really good food, had a couple of drinks which was nice too. Then we went for a walk along the bay & then went up to the casino where we had a couple more drinks & then went to the movies. We saw 'Good Luck Chuck'. It was hilarious. Then we went & had a look around the casino, & had another drink. It was nice to have some time out. We picked the kids up just after midnight & then buy the time we got them back home & settled it was time to change the clocks forward for daylight savings time, so it was later than we would have liked lol. Had to get up early the next morning to talk DD1 & 2 swimming so we were quite stuffed. Still recovering today... i wanted to sleep in but of course that didnt happen.

Sierra is still very grumpy. Her cold has returned & its worse, poor bubba. Been giving her Infant Dimetapp & thats been helping her get some rest & feel a bit happier.
DH has tomorrow & wednesday off work :smiliedance: We have Ally's paediatrician appointment tomorrow so he wants to go & talk about all the issues Ally has been having etc & on Wednesday its the anniversary & b'day of our little boy Harvey. He would have been 6 this year... its gone so fast. Seems like only yesterday. So anyway we are going out to have a picnic lunch at the memorial park that he is buried at. We do it every year on his b'day.

Well better get on with rest of the housework before bubs wakes.

Take care all.

Mim: sorry I replied before I read your other post! I work two days per weeek- tues and fri and hubby looks after bubs (i leave ebm in bottle/ cup). It works well for us. Its lucky now that he feeds three times a day with meals (it would be very difficult if I didn't know his feed times or if he was feeding more). He was on four feeds per day b, l, a/t and d, but now he has a proper afternoon tea instead of milk. The idea is thatv once he hits 12 months we can cut out the lunchtime feed if we want and that means only feeding breakfast and dinner (he can have milk in a cup at lunch).

I think I would feel sad about weaning now as it seems so close to the magic 12 month mark. .. But at times I think oooh it would be great to wear a normal bra... (I am keen to see what will happen to my chest- already bi but smaller pre- pregnancy- would love it if they miraculously shrunk!! :fingerscrossed: (I sound sooo selfish don't I... i'm sure that sounded bad).

Parents expo: I went to a parents expo on the weekend and my sleep angels were there and suggested even more food for bubba.. suggested a very small snack after breakfast and before 9am bedtime. Worked well today as he had been throwing "high chair wobblies" where he screamed as soon as the food was taken away or when you scraped the remaining food out of the bowl! It was starting to become painful.. I had refused to belive he was hungry as I can't get over how much he eats.. lots more that kait, Tabby!!! So the sleep nurses said to finish with finger food at each meal (yogurt doesn't work as a finger food.. not that I've tried but Im sure you can imagine the results!!). Very hard to know..

Charis: well done re crawling.. Alex still rolly-poly. Can get up to sitting position from his back/side psoition but has only done it once. he is such an active baby that i assume that once he starts trying to crawl it will be on for young and old!

Oh and time for results.. yes I would have told you all if it was +ve.. but had all the signs until AF arrived!! Dunno what's happening with cycle now... oh well willl get back on the "wagon" this month (would have sounded better if I said saddle.. eew..)!

Good night all.. better go get ready for work tomorrow (yuck yuck yuck!!).. oh and good luck korahblue...

Wild at heart. Sorry to hear of af arrival, yep back into that saddle you go hun lol. good luck for Nov!
Hopefully we can both be bfp

Charis:Sounds like H and K are definetly same stage crawling, the last 2-3 days shes also been chasing me round the commando way.
Lots of back and bum ups inbetween but not quite there. Also she prefers to stand! what the?? At her happiest just standing at the table or inbetween my knees as I sit on the floor.
Shes also attempted to take a step and lots of letting go and standing alone  I dont think she will crawl for long.
Lovely pressie from H's dad, Tis wonderful to bike ride, they enjoy it so much!

Sammy: Hope DS1 is feeling better and you and Mum get a good nights rest :hugs:

Had a couple of bad nights here too, though from teething, and shes cross cutting, the top ones this time. That horrid bum burn is back with it too!

Hi DFB! Hope your both well xx

hi everyone, been MIA for a while - just can't seem to fit everything into the day and just want to collapse at the end of it. I'm sure I'm not alone!
sorry, I've read all the posts and can't remember who said what but I think there's a couple of happy birthday's in there somewhere!! also big :hugs: for tiredmummy and your rememberance day, and :fingerscrossed: to Tabby and anyone else TTC.

well amongst other things, Hamish has decided he only wants to eat finger food, and not much of that. So much for me having a fab eater. He's hardly had anything all week but just doesn't seem all that hungry. I'm wondering if I should start to worry about it at some point? He's been a bit cranky but pretty much his usual happy self otherwise. Still pretty keen on the (.) (.).... I've managed to get him to take a bottle a couple of times (FM, haven't the energy to EBM) but more often he's not interested. oh, and tonight I gave him a vaalia (sp?) bubby yoghurt which he couldn't get enough of...then I discovered its nearly 10% sugar!!! he was bouncing off the walls!!!! Meal times are a bit of a farce at the moment with me spending most of the time cleaning the floor and throwing away the many morsels I attempt to entice into the little tummy. Watching him try to manouvre peas into his mouth is priceless though.
Nuff about us, I'm off to bed. night all.

ps Charis the bike riding sounds excellent. I've got a seat...but the bike's a bit of a worry....
pps there have been a few free balancing moments here in the last couple of days and lots of cruising the furniture. eeeeeekkk.

Tired mummy - :hugs: for you for wednesday. I'll be thinking of you on a difficult day.

freddie - I'm no expert but I say don't worry about the food thing. DS is almost 3 and he has had days/weeks over the last 3 years where he eats heaps and then changes and seems to live on air and vegemite for a few days. I think as they are so young they only eat what they need. He could be having a plateau when it comes to growth.....

Mim - just wanted to say that with b/f you could still continue when you return to work. I went back to work when DS was 10 months and never gave him formula or expressed. I still fed him until 20 months. I just fed first thing in the morning and then as soon as I got home. On days off and weekends I let him have as much or as little breast as he wanted. Obviously it is totally up to you but wanted to let you know that it can be done.

Well, my girl is awake because the dog is barking!

better go
