View Full Version : Can i buy thicker PUL?
I have just sewn my fisrt nappy with plain PUL, and don't like the look of it. I don't know why, but i think if it was a little stiffer it would look better.
My pocket nappy i bought, feels and looks nicer, it 50% polyester and 50% cotton.
Is this the reason, where can i get a stiffer feeling PUL from?

What brand of PUL are you using? I think I'm using Procare at the moment and its fairly stiff but it softens up with washing.
Some PUL is also availiable in 1mil and 2mil. I'd expect the 2mil would be stiffer.
As far sa I'm concerned, as long as it stops the leaks thats all that matters.
Not sure of the brand, i got it from bubba earth and it said 2mil.
Where do you get procare from?

Is it the white or lavender stuff from BE? That stuff is way thinner than most other PUL. Other PUL is usually another material bonded to a laminate coating - I like fabrite myself (eg from Nappies Covered). If you get one that's laminated cotton fabric you're more likely to have wicking issues than if you get laminated polyester. The prints are pretty much all cotton and the plain colours are usually polyester. :)
