1+ protein in urine?

I have had a lot of fluid lately, so decided to monitor it at home for protein, just to be sure. Is 1+ normal? I'm not sure if there is a healthy ammount to have, or if any protein in urine is a bad sign. Thank you for any help with this xx

I had pre-eclampsia so I had the protein in my urine tested every day that I was in hospital. They were never worried about 1+. They would start to get concerned about 2+ IF I also had other symptoms flaring up aswell.
So if it gets to 2 or 3+ you should prob check with your doctor.

I have it too... But been advised by my GP that its only very Mild and Im 27weeks... Seeing my Ob on two weeks:yes:

I had 1+ from very early on at every visit and was told it wasnt unusual and was okay. :thumbsup:

I had +1 or +2 every time it was checked when I was preg with DD, but coz I had no other probs the middies weren't worried about it...I can't remember how far along I was when they started checking tho, it was after I started seeing the middies (instead of my gp), so maybe around 14-16wks...not sure now.

THank you so much! I will keep testing every day and keep an eye on it. Wouldn't worry so much if I wasn't carrying this ammount of fluid everywhere, nothing that I do seems to make it go away or even ease off. I'm not a neurotic person by nature, but after reading about pre eclampsia I am not prepared to take any chances with my baby's life or my health. xx

If your this far gone through your pregnancy and yr Midwife or Ob don't think your at risk then you'll be fine... :yes:

I had 2+ in my urine when i was pregnant with ds and because i had PE with dd they kept a close eyes on me and had a midwife come out every couple of day to check on me.

I didn't get PE and everything was ok,im sure everything will be ok :hugs:
