My DD had her first vaccinations just over a week ago and has been crying every day since. She sleeps well at night but is grumpy all day, screaming for hours at a time (previously she was a very happy baby who only cried when she was hungry.) It sounds like what the books describe as colic but the timing of it is making me wonder if the vacc. caused it.

Hmm, not sure Little Bean...does DD have a raised swollen bruise or something on her legs where they did it? My DD did, so it hurt for a few days with some crying here and there from that I am sure...would be sore I assume when they kick their little legs.

That could be it, or maybe it frightened her, or maybe coincidence with something else?

Sorry not much help.

When my DD had her 2 month vaccinations, she too cried for a few days. I couldn't do anything to stop her crying. I tried panadol, but it didn't seem to help. I'm assuming it had to do with the vaccinations.

Her 4 months ones are coming up next week and I'm NOT looking forward to it.

I've never had any probs like this that I've noticed but they say that vaccinations give a very small dose of whatever the disease is to build up the immunity and sometimes different children can get a very low-level illness for a short period.

If you're worried - and you know your child's usual behaviour best - take her to your GP and get her checked.

Incidentally, I've had kids start teething symptoms from as young as a couple of mths - blowing bubbles, red cheeks, funny smelling nappies.

Probably doesn't help much, sorry, but keep us posted.

I remember DD would get VERY clingy for about a week after vacs. If shes still like it a visit to the gp and just get a check anyhow.

She was happy for a day and now she's grumpy again. I saw a GP but it was on the day she was happy so she said just to monitor her and see how she goes.

If blowing bubbles is a sign of teething, that may be it too. She does this all the time. And her nappies smell different (the wee ones) but I can't really describe how.

My echn told me that different coloured poo is normal after vacs. I don't know about wee - did you mention that to your GP?

my bub was screaming for 4 days after her 4 month vacinnations but not her 2 month ones.
I don't know why she was so stressed out, doctor has no clue. I'd also eaten peanut butter so we are getting her allergy tested this week in case.

We had a great new sleep routine working too but it went out the window because I had to cuddle her to sleep and now are back to the old cuddle and rock again :sigh:

I dare say your little one is taking a while to get over the vacs, don't worry, just give her lots of cuddles!

I don't know if blowing bubbles is a sign of teething, I think its just something that babies learn how to do and it amuses them.

Hi My little 5 month old girl is sleeping now so i have time to respond. I wonder if your child is reacting to their growth spurt. It seems to be strange how babies growth spurts always coincide with the needles dates eg 4 weeks, 8 weeks, 6 months etc. These are all growth spurt times. My bubs didnt react to her needles but what makes me wonder is could your baby be wanting extra feeds now? Through all these stages bubs wanted to be extra fed during the day especially. Sometimes it wouldnt be on the exact week as sometimes she was fussy with feeding at say 7 weeks. Id probably google growth spurts and see if it could be that as thats what Im thinking it could be. Hope this helps and that your bubba settles down.
