Baby acne

my girl is 3 wks old and i am half breastfeeding and half formula and bub seems to have little pimples on her cheeks, just wondering if this is common, if it is from something i ate and if they will disappear without leaving marks behind.

any help or tips would be great!

hi, sounds like milk rash - really common - my little one had it till she was about 4 months or so... nothing you can do about it - it goes and then they have beautiful clear skin again until they get a dribble rash from drooling and food always on their face!! (still waiting for this rash to go!!)....

It's absolutely normal and will clear up by itself. It's due to your hormones having affected the baby in utero & now she is out, her system is adjusting to lower hormone levels.

I don 't know if it is common but it is normal. My son has had infantile acne since he was about two wks (he's now 5 months). Apparently it will just disapear over time..

My son got baby acne at around 8 weeks and didn't clear up until he was over 1. Everyone told me to leave it and it would clear up and not to worry - however it did leave scars that are still noticable a year on. I found the Jurlique Baby soothing cream very good. Even though it is oily and seemed to help a bit.

both my childen had one big white bump on their ckeeks and they never went away ,they were 9 months old and i didnt konw what to do , anyway they left scars and i feel guilty every day because no one new what to do .


i would like to know more about your situation .

My DS also got little pimples like this when he was about 4wks and they had gone totally by the time he hit about 10 weeks.

I heard two theories - one that it was from hormones in my breastmilk, and the other that it was left over toxins (from being inutero) getting out of his system.

Probably I'll get shot down in flames for admitting to this, but I soaked a cottonball in natural Witchhazel (diluted with water at first for a week and then straight solution when he didn't react badly) and wiped his face with it daily. It seemed to help a lot and kept the redness in the pimples away.
