April 2003 Kiddies

Hi all - Shania was born 28 Aprill 2003 weighing 4pound 1/2 ounce (1.83kg) she was born at 35+2 gestation. She spent only 1 1/2 days in a humidi crib then went into a water bed for 3 or 4 days then into a normal crib.

It was the best day when they took all her leads and monitors of her. She was fed through a nasal gastric tube for bout a week, she didnt take to the boobie too well, but they gave her some formula in a bottle of some breast milk.

Just before 3 weeks old she was big enough to come home - the best day of my life. I had to leave her there after the first week and had to make daily trips up to the hospital. leaving her there was the hardest and most painfull day of my whole entire life - i cried all the way home! :( We put her in her car seat and she looked like a doll! :p

She is now nearly 3 (cant belive it :eek: ) time goes so fast, she is very intelligent and you cant hide anything from her! lol She was walking by 8 months and runny by 9 months!!! :o No one would ever know that she was premmie just that she is a little girl.

My youngest son, Brady was born on 19th April 2003. He was born on his deceased great grandfathers birthday, 1 day before his due date. He was a very big boy, weighing 9 pound 1 ounce and measuring 54 cm long. He was born very quickly and with a few complications in the back of the ambulance on the way the to the hospital.

He was very strong. He was holding his head up on his own right from birth, and standing on his legs holding his own weight by 2 weeks.

His is now almost 3 and still a very strong build boy. Gee how those last 3 years have gone by so fast!

He is now three
of my three children he is my 'sickly' child
he visits the doctor and hospital the most
and suffers from eczema and asthma
he is extremely sensitive
and is a very affectionate child

hi all i hope you dont mind my coming in here, but i cldnt find a thread for march 03 bubs, my dd was born on the 31 of march even tho her due wasnt until the 8th of april, so i hope that u dont mind my being here.:fingerscrossed:

My big boy is now excited about going to school next year. He can now write his name and is trying to recognise other words.
