How do I tell?

My grandma has made me about 8 soakers. The last time she made me a few, she used acrylic wool instead of 100% wool.

Im not sure how to tell if the ones she has made me are acrylic or wool? :confused:

I heard somewhere that you burn a little bit, but what exactly am I looking for when I burn it?

If its acrylic, it will melt. If its pure wool, it will just burn away.

They ended up melting so im guessing its acrylic. :rolleyes:

Do people still use them? Like if anyone is allergic to wool, could it still work?

I know it doesnt have the same anti bacterial properties as wool but could it still work?

Some people do use them, yes. They will still work as a cover, but you will just have to wash them regularly, unlike pure wool. :)
