Hello,
I'm new to this forum and live in Adelaide. Both myself and my husband are from overseas (Ireland, me; London, husband) and our little girl is almost 4 months old. Can I ask are there any family friendly restaurants or cafes that we can take bubs with us to? The changing / parenting rooms anywhere I've been to are horrid. Also, can I ask if anyone else from overseas has advice on how to go about finding a reliable babysitter? We would love few hours out by ourselves.
Looking forward to hearing your suggestions.

Hi & welcome to the Hub.
What part of Adeliade are you living in? There are a few nicer parents rooms in some shopping centres but depends on where you live.
Here in Adelaide we have heaps of get togethers and everyone is heaps friendly so hope to see you around.

Hi there, welcome to bub hub. I am new too, my name is Larissa and I have a beautiful baby girl, Emily - who is 21 months old. I used to live in Adelaide, my husband grew up there. There is a fantastic restaurant / cafe on Hutt St in the city called Chianti Classico. They are child friendly - they have lovely outdoor seating as well - I used to work there. Good luck with finding a reliable babysitter. Larissa
Where abouts do you live?

Sunshinegirl - Hi there....my name is Lou and I'm an ex pat Brit myself, came over here end Nov last year from S.E London.
Where in the hills do you live ? I'm in Mount Barker. :D
I have a couple people who babysit for me occasionally, I know how hard it is to find someone to babysit for you when you know no one/have no family here. So if your not far away then I can do some babysitting for you from time to time.
As for family friendly resturants, I have found most of them cater well for children but yes some of the changing rooms are a bit hit and miss.
:D ooooh Lou you might have a new friend, what is with you girls and the hills, move closer gdammit
HI sunshinegirl:wave: another adelaide UK expat - thats three of us now:smiliedance:
I have found Kibbis on King William Road to be very child friendly. My Yen chinese, on Unley road are fantastic always lots of kids running around, not sure what the changing facilities would be like though. Also any of the asian places in the city are great.
If you find a good babysitter can you send them my way:rolleyes:
