Hey guys :smiliedance:
I just thought it would be cool if we had a thread where we can touch base with eachother every now and then, iykwim.
I love seeing you all at meets but we hardly ever cross paths on the forum and I wouldn't have a clue what everyone is up to!

So what IS everyone up to? Me, I'm dying for another meet soon and also fed up with Uni :banghead: Only a few weeks of this semester to go really, then I'm going to assess what I'm going to do next year, because TBH I'm sick of it all!

So how is everyone :D

BubbaNoogie
27-09-2007, 09:24
Good idea Zoe!

I am not up to much at the moment, we all have colds, so just hanging out at home.
Its A's first proper cold and she is not handling the snot and coughing very well, poor angel.

Me, bored. Want to go somewhere or do something but with my terror child its too hard.

Have under 8 weeks to go now  Have done most of the prep, washed bubs stuff etc. Still need to get my stuff ready though :p

Wow RB, your pregnancy has gone really fast, it only seems like a few weeks ago you were MrsX:D

BlueEyedGirl
27-09-2007, 09:52
Great idea Zoe:thumbsup:

I feel exactly the same way about uni at the moment - just over it.

I have been trying to organise a 'spooky' costume for Issy:D Oh, and trying to organise presents and things!! We have in the next coming months, Chloe's party, my sister's boyfriend's 21st, my niece, my sister-in-law, my two sisters, two brothers and Issy's birthdays as well as Christmas!! Oh and my birthday too, so need to buy something for me from Issy:D

And am looking up ideas for her birthday party - I am thinking of ditching the dress-up theme until later when she can really enjoy it and just asking all the kids to come ready to play Issy's favourite activities... drawing, painting, bubbles, playing in the dirt etc :D

RB - your nine months has just flown past - I can't believe you are just 8 weeks away!!

BubbaNoogie - hope you all get better soon.

Jee Rach, I don't envy you

BubbaNoogie, it has gone pretty fast this time to me too. The joys of having a toddler to distract you :p

Rach & Zoe, you are both making me very glad I decided NOT to enrol for uni just yet.

I've decided to be pro-active CCer bubhub member thingymajig chick :D

Well, from July to mid September I go crazy because we have my birthday, my brothers birthday, fathers day, Lills birthday and then my other brothers birthday.
Oh did I say I go crazy? Woops, I meant broke a$$poor :p

So now it's all calming down, loving it up here... at the water daily! lol I feel like such a bum.
I walk everyday, actually a bit of a health kick and losing weight thing.

Um, nothing else happens around here lol pretty bored most days, just killing time and having fun I guess :o

Hey ladies.

Great thread idea Zoe.

I can't wait to see you guys again, it's been way to long.

Still organising stuffs for Chloe's party.
She is growing so much lately, very tall girl she is. It's adorable watching her run across the room then she bends down to pick up a toy then bounces back up and continues running.
So very cute.

Gosh it's gone so fast. Everyday as she gets older means another day where I realise I am not ready for anymore babies.

Your pregnancy has gone fast RB. How exciting, you'll be cuddling your little man very soon. :)

Rach- Don't stress about the costume, I still have no idea what Chloe will wear. lol
My Mum wants to make her something cute, we suggested we make her as a foam cappucino considering her hair is always messy kinda like chocolate poweder over the top of the milk, and she has the uncanny ability of knowing whenever we're about to have a cappucino and she starts licking her lips and chomping for some.
If I can't give her coffee she may as well be coffee. lol

Still throwing around some silly ideas.
:)

Hope everyone is doing well.

Rach Callan keeps on talking about his girlfriend Issy and how they went to the movies together..way to cute.

We have also just bought a house :smiliedance: just waiting on all the paperwork stuff hopefully we will be in our home by early Nov.

Hope to see you all again soon

Ashleigh<3 & Mel, - I can't believe the bubs are almost one!!! I can remember when they were tiny!!

D I too cant believe how fast your pregnancy has gone. How is the lovely Miss MJ?

 Lovely  No, she's good, a monster, but good. Gets very bored with me not getting out as much. Has more hair now too...FINALLY! We've just woken after a 2.5hour sleep so can't complain too much.

Will try my best to make it next week to the entrance to see everyone.

mum2my4 - congrats on the house. You certainly do have a lot going on!!

Mel- How is your Mister (almost) one doing?
Gosh I remember cuddling him when I first met you and he was so precious.
:o

Congratulations on the house mum2my4!:yelclap:

Hello Sunkissedstar.

I've been meaning to post a thread about having a library meet, they have a Mums and bubs session where they read to you and the bubs can interact with the books and other kids.

They do it at Lake Haven and (I think) Tuggerah, I'll see if I can find out anymore information.
Pretty sure its newborn to two years old but I doubt older kids there would be a problem. :)

 Hi Michelle, your daughter looks stunning in your avatar.

Hi Erin, I know what you mean about being 'broke a$$ poor' - especially from now until the end of the year for me!! Hope to see you and Lill at Igauna's.

Ash, if Issy was small enough, I was going to get one of these costumes for her!
Crazy Costumes (http://www.brandsonsale.com/funny-baby-costumes.html)
A cuppucino sounds cute! Might be a bit hard to walk around in though!! I did have an idea set out for Iss, now I have changed my mind - my sister's suggestion when I told her the theme was spooky was to dress Issy in emo:eek:
I do love this one though Pirate Costume (http://www.brandsonsale.com/ca-008342.html), especially the boots!!

Library meet up sounds good, Issy loves books and reading! I am up for it

Hi sunkissed star:wave:

hahaha Mel, might need to take them on a 'date' again soon:laughing: Issy has become obbessed with the movies - everytime we pass, she is always asking if we are going! Oh and Boost juices have become another favourite, she loves having the strawberry squeeze!

How is the work going Jess??? Congratulations on the house!!

Hi Jodie:wave:

Pmsl- Issy the emo, there will be plenty of emo's already at my house. She'd fit in perfectly.

And it's not called Woy Woy High any more.

It's called Brisbane Waters Secondary College and Umina High is not called that anymore it's called Brisbane Waters Junior College (or campus).

Woy Woy caters for yrs 10-12 or 11-12 and Umina caters for yrs 7-9 or 7-10. CAn't remember exact details - friend told me the other day.

Woy Woy has certainly changed too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RB you poor thing, it was really hot! I hope you've got the fans out at home already? I haven't here but last night was a bit hot when I was trying to sleep so may have to soon!

Evie is fine but yes has the wonderful foot, hand & mouth disease :barf: Only on her feet so far, the daycare chick said it doesn't always spread to hands and mouth so fingers crossed that's it. She's fine and happy though :) It sounds so horrible though, when they told me I thought of that foot & mouth disease in the UK that kills animals

I would have loved to have been there yesterday - at the moment, I am so grateful that it is school holidays as my sister has had time off and has looked after Issy for me practically all week.

I just have to put the finishing touches on Issy's outfit for Sunday:party:

Well I am almost completely all better:smiliedance: I just have a cough which really only appears when its getting late and the air cools [when I really should be in bed!!]

Ash, Issy is so excited about tomorrow:smiliedance: She learnt how to say Chloe, although it still isn't quite right, and we have been talking about "C-lo-e's par-ty!" for days now!

Oh, and I don't get a second thought when she at their house! But the cuddles are super cuddly when she comes home! I go all squishy when she comes running to me with a big grin on her face!:o

We are on the road to the land of toilets:yelclap: Issy loves doing wees in the toliet, and is getting better at telling me before she needs to go. We are using sposies at the moment:o , because I just find it easier and quicker to get it all done.
She is even doing wees in other toilets, like at her Aunties, and at the shops - I don't know why, but I thought we might have a problem with the 'different' toilets.

Her Aunties have also been helping with it as well, when she is over at their house, they 'offer' the toilet too:thumbsup:

What's this Forest of Tranquility talk? I always see the signs for it but what on earth is it? :o

Here (http://www.australianrainforest.com.au/) is a link to it's website:thumbsup:

It actually goes by the name: Australian Rainforest Sanctuary now:yes:

Ranger Bird Feeding
Wallabies/Wallaroos
Sydney's Best Rainforest
5km natural Forest Walks
Covered Picnic Area
Gas Token BBQs
Light Refreshments
Function Centre
Education Centre
Natural Lighting area
A designated ball play area

Other than picnicking, this can be viewed an outdoor experience, so we suggest you bring a change of familiar shoes, jumper and disposable raincoat (we also sell raincoats). The forest walk is ecologically sustainable with outdoor foot access only (no wheel or motor access).

There is also the Reptile Park (http://www.reptilepark.com.au/default.asp)

Ah, that's watanobbi for you. There are a lot of suburbs with that type of crowd if you know what I mean?
Mine is turning into one too.
It's wonderful!

When we were robbed, the police contacted us about six months later and told us about how they found the woman who robbed us, she had hired neighborhood kids within her hood of Watanobbi to rob people, they found about 100k worth of stolen goods in her home and they ended up having to send a lot of kids to Juvie.
That was a real shock, I just hope she is still in gaol!

Chloe has chicken pox! I thought it was a bit strange that she kept rubbing her bum into the ground, then rolling around in circles on her back.
Her entire bottom+ front bum is chicken pox, then her belly, back and head.

She seems unaffected, still running around playing, screaming.
We're on day three now so hopefully she recovers soon.

RB - I noticed that you haven't been actively posting since Friday [bit stalker-ish I know], just wondering how you are going and hoping you are not online because your little one decided to make his entrance early :D

cherrypip - we missed you the other week at the meet.. Hopefully we organise another one soon, and you can make it

Mel - hope you are having a great time away. When are you back??

Ash - how is little Chloe going??

Zoe - how are you??

Issy has been hanging out for a play, but I just cannot find the time at the moment! My brother turned 18 on Wednesday, and had his party last night, so now Issy keeps saying "Issy party next"!

She cannot wait for her party:party:

Found out what she is getting from Nana and Grandad today................................... a sandpit and the old cubbyhouse:smiliedance:

The cubbyhouse was built up on stilts - younger siblings were older when we got that one, and the sandpit used to sit under, perfect shade! So now the cubbyhouse is on the ground, and the new plastic is laid ready for the sand!

It was an effort moving the cubbyhouse, but it looks great - and has been sprayed to keep out the spiders!!

So now Santa has an idea what to get for Christmas [a kitchen set for the cubby - he might visit Big W this week, 'cause they are on special for $88:p ]

Just re-read my post and realised that all I talk about is parties and Christmas - can you tell it's been on my mind:o

Hi Ladies!

Mind if I join in? I'm Wendy, we're at Blue Haven. We've been here almost 7 years now. We're very happy and settled here. Hubby is Neil and DS, Sam. He's 14 months now, seems like just yesterday I was begging for drugs in a Gosford Hospital Delivery Suite!

P.S. Forgot to say, I'm looking forward to getting to know you all! When is the next meet?

Well after looking today - we are still no closer to finding the house for us...

So my sisters are thinking of buying and I would just pay rent (which would go towards the re-payments)

I am liking this idea because then I can decorate DD's room:D I have never really decorated for her, and I am really hanging out to set her up in her own little place!
I found some gorgeous things on the Ikea website - some of it is over my budget, but its nice to dream!!
(there are also some really cool chairs, but DD doesn't need anymore - I love little chairs:o)

Will be back later - have to put a tired munchkin to bed:sleeping:

LilShenanigans
04-01-2008, 19:47
oh you love chairs too!? lol I've got to stop myself so much!

I guess you guys would be looking for something in particular with space and rooms for all of you.. that'd be harder I guess. I've just seen big places that if I paid half rent I'd be spending less then if I stay on my own ... strange really??

BlueEyedGirl
06-01-2008, 11:01
Every time I see a little chair - I think "ohhhh its soo cute - DD will use it":D - trouble is that she doesn't use all the chairs she has now:o

Yeah, we have an idea on the sort of place we want (x number of bedrooms, x number of living spaces - which are not all bunched together etc.....)

My sisters are scouting around for home loans tomorrow!

We are off to see Alvin and the Chipmunks today!

Any ideas on when to get together???

Still not 100% sure if we are coming or not RB - will have to see how we are Thursday morning:yes:

Today, I went to see Le Grand Cirque - it was awesome! Apparently the Opera House had doubled booked some people's seats (they were sitting in front of us) and there was a big to-do about it - luckily the lovely people that were sitting in front of us ended up in the row behind us.
Isabelle spent the day with my sister's and throughly enjoyed herself. She even got to see the circus people that were performing at Westfield:D

Hello Ladies,

Thankyou to BlueEyedGirl for you PM.

Was hoping I could join in and perhaps meet up with you sometime.

I have a daughter (turns 10 in March) and a son (16 1/2 months), plus 2 months pregnant with no. 3.

I live near Westfields but travel is no problem, so long as back for school bus.

Hope everyone with school age kids is enjoying the school hol's.

I can highly recommend the circus show on at Westfiled Tuggerah this week, I think the shows are at 11am and 1pm daily. Saw a bit of it yesterday and it was so good we went back yesterday to see the full show. All the performers are locals from the Coast too which is great!

Hello again,

My little man had a terrible cold last Tuesday, kept me awake all night rolling around crying/screaming and didn't realise until I got it from him the next night how bad it was. We are all clear now but the sore throat was THE WORST I've ever had -felt like someone had rubbed sandpaper up and down it.

If you're kids haven't had it yet best to stock up on Panadol cause I had Nurofen the night he came down with it but no Panadol and they say you should only give Nurofen after food which made it really difficult given the state he was in that night.

Anyway, just reading other messages re: places to take kids with animals and thought I'd let you know of somewhere I go with hubby and kids - Dooralong Valley Resort. You can go there and have cake and coffee for around $10 (really nice indoors or sit out on lovely deck if weather is good). If not raining you can walk down to the animal farm and around the grounds. Obviously you can't use the other facilities unless you are a guest but it still makes a really nice place to visit.

The best place of all to take kids to experience animals, in my opinion, is Oakvale Farm up at Salt Ash (on way to Nelson Bay). It takes about 1 1/2 hours but definately worth the trip. Kids get to hand feed baby animals with bottles, go on a wagon ride, walk amongst kangaroos, take a ride on a mini Thomas the Tank engine train. There is an undercover area for eating and a reptile dislay too.

Also, anyone who has a kids account opened with the Newcastle Perm. Bldg Soc. will know that each year on the childs birthday you get sent a birthday card and several free passes to either: Reptile Park, Oakvale Farm, Hunter Valley Gardens etc.

The only other thing that comes to mind is the Japanese Gardens at East Gosford where kids can buy some fish food and feed the Koi fish. This should keep them amused for at least 1/2 hour and you can combine it with a walk around to the park or a walk along the boardwalk down to the water (take mozzie spray!).

Chat soon

Haven't read the whole message, but sounding like what Lill may have. And me I guess.
Having a bad throat last couple of days then Lill wakes up like this... putting two and two together here.

Although, I think I have "Mother Bacteria Fighters", the bacteria that is actived once labour has started that helps fight diseases that your body never naturally could, in order to continue looking after the young, sick and vulnerable.

Think I should lay off the panadol myself :)

Hello everyone.

I have just joined Bub Hub, I was a member a year or so ago but we were going through stressful times and now life is calmer, we bought our first home and my husbands father passed away so it was hard. Now I want to be part of the forums and meet some like minded mums. I live on the Central Coast and have 2 sons 3.5 years and 2 years and we are TTC. I have my own web store and I am a stay at home mum. I am also an attachment parent. My children are my life.

I am looking forward to chatting with you all.

Hello again ladies:wave:,

Welcome to BBK's.

As I'm not familiar with where each of you lives on the Coast, nor whether you are willing to travel a bit, just thought I'd let you know of a great thing which I will be enrolling in as of 1st February.

It's a craft/activities morning for mum's run by the Baptist Church at Bateau Bay. It is from 10am to 12noon each Friday. Bub's are welcome and will be looked after in a seperate room within the building by 3 lovely ladies. Morning tea is provided too. Cost is $16 per term, plus the cost of supplies for whichever of the activities you choose to do for that term.

The activities for this 1st term are:-
Cake decorating, Folk Art, Knitting/Crotchet, Painting, Sewing, Beading, Patchwork, U.F.O.'s (unfinished objects), and Cards.

I took my daughter along several years ago now when she was a toddler and was very impressed with the way it is run. Most of the teachers are quite knowledgeable in the area they are doing.

As it is run by the ladies at the Baptist Church, they do during one part of the morning have a speaker who stands up (everyone continues what they are doing) and gives a talk on something biblical but that's it. There is no pressure to join the church or anything like that. I found them to be a lovely group of ladies.

Well, we are by ourselves again today (Sat) as hubby has to work this morning till 11am then he is taking my step-son to Sydney to buy him a new tennis racquet for his Birthday yesterday. He should be home around 5pm so don't know what we will do to entertain ourselves. Think I'm going stir crazy from being inside too much:rain:.

Having said that, I think I'm starting to get the problem I had with my last pregnancy starting already (I'm only 9 weeks pregnant). It is a "pressure" feeling in the lower groin area which means standing for any length of time becomes quite painful and a feeling like the baby is going to fall out. Sounds bizarre I know and all of the midwives I spoke with at Gosford during my last pregnancy couldn't really give me any explanation for it.

I had a massive bleed at 14 weeks where hubby had to rush me to Emergency and they though I had miscarried. Amazingly, 5 hours later they brought out the scanning machine and told us our bub was okay. Again, there was no explanation for this.

I guess I'm lucky cause I live so close to Westfields and I have already sussed out ringing ahead to book a mobile scooter if I need to. I'll have to get my mum to come with me to push the little man around so I can do the shopping though. Can just imagine the looks I'll will get:rolleyes: - I'm 6ft tall and quite strong whereas my mum is about 5ft 5", 75 years of age, quite frail and has scoliosis among other things. Oh well, this will be our last bub so I guess it's just a means to an end.

Just had another idea, was watching tele and they are promoting Pancake Day in early Feb to raise money for Uniting Care's work:yelclap: in the community.

Think I will register to hold a pancake lunch here at our place:chef:. It would be great if we could have a BH get together for this. Will post more info soon.

Well, hope everyone is having a nice day:flowerz:.

Chat soon,

Hi ladies

just wondering if anyone knows if there is a Playgroup around the Gosford area? I don't drive so it has to be one thats easy for me to get to (I'm at Point Frederick)
I had a look on the Playgroup website but there wasn't any, so I'm hoping there's a secret one I don't know about!!

Thanks!

PS Lilshenanigans, I love your quote, DH and I say that all the time, lol!

Hi Charlismummy,

I lived at Point Clare for 3 years and was told that there is a great playgroup in the Uniting (?) church opposite the Library in Donnison Street, Gosford.

I did used to take my daughter to the Story time/craft mornings in the Library too (downstairs entry) which I found to be quite good.

Another great thing you may be interested in for yourself, if your budget allows, is the Potters Guild in East Gosford. I used to send my daughter there after school and she made some beautiful pieces of pottery which will be treasured memories forever but they have classes for adults too.

Otherwise, the Central Coast Conservatorium runs an Early Childhood music program for little ones that runs for about 1/2 to 3/4 hour each week. My daughter did the 3 year program with them and it's amazing how much they learn about music, beat, rythym, musical instruments etc.

Hope this helps

Who is free on Thursday? No time for dilly dallys, my hand is going up for Tuggerah, at 10.30am ... be there, or be wrapped up in a straight jacket. Both highly amusing either way

Hi guys

Glasshalffull - thanks, I'll see if I can find out about that playgroup.

Where abouts do you guys meet at Tuggerah? I'd love to start coming to some meets. I've been to one bubhub meet before with the dec 06 mums in sydney but Tuggerah is much much easier for me!

How hot is it today! :sunshine::thumbsdown:

Hey there Glasshalffull, great suggestions!
Maybe we should do a BH meet at one of those places really soon! I like the sound of the Japanese Gardens :flowerz:

I take Charlotte there all the time! She loves it and we can walk there from our place. When we walk through the doors she says 'fishies fishies!' and strains to get out the stroller, lol. Its free to get in and the fish food is only $1

I'm having some medication problems at the moment which is resulting in kinda flickery vision and can't concentrate etc... just generally feeling weird, and I'm not sure I should drive that far
I will have to see if it's worse/better tomorrow and I will post in the morning

Hi ladies,

Sorry off the air for a while.

Can someone please PM me just to confirm where the meet place is at Tuggerah. Think I know (does it have something to do with Alvin & the Chipmunks?) but just to be sure.

I was hoping to be there this morning cause I have to go to a doctor's appt at Tuggerah Medical but am not feeling too great.

The pregnancy often makes me feel faint - it's such a pain cause it has happened a few times before to me and is very embarrassing plus I worry if it happens when I've got 17month old with me.

I might try and pop in to where I think it is if I feel okay. If not, I hope you all have a great time.

Chat soon:wave:

See you at the next one Mel. You'll have to see how much my monster has grown!!

Hello,
I have recently moved from the UK (although I'm Irish and husband is South African, we're in our 30's). We have a 2 year old boy and a baby due in 7 weeks. I would love to meet some other Mums in the area as we don't really know many people yet. I'm not planning to go back to work until the next baby is about a year old so this is the time to meet some other Mums.
I live in Forresters Beach near Wamberal.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Lauren

Did you all have a good time last week? I took Charlotte there the other day to see what it was and she had an absolute ball! Will definatly try to tag along next time!

I can't believe its sunny today, I have so much washing to do and I'm at mums! I heard its supposed to rain again tonight so it'll probably just keep getting bigger until I have no clothes left!

LilShenanigans
06-02-2008, 13:35
I haven't done the laundry lol I knew it was going to rain again and my luck says - if I dont put it out it'll be a good day for drying, if I do put it out, it'll pour down at 2pm lol

Im thinking though, does anyone reckon I can ask a laundry place to dry my stuff?? I could do that in Sydney, but then laundromats are all the rage and nobody has a backyard ... not so sure Ill still be seen as moderately sane up here? lol
