View Full Version : Questions for the Launnie girls
Hey girls!
My mum reckons that there's heaps of good dress shops up your way. I have a wedding to go to next weekend and although I bought a dress down here I'm not 100% convinced on it and DH is thinking of taking a day trip to Launceston to have a look (he's a gorgeous thing!)
Anyway, could anyone give me the heads up on a few places to go to as I won't have a lot of time - maybe 3-4 hours or so. The place I bought my dress from is Noni B and it was a Liz Jordon label (however while out shopping yesterday I found the EXACT same design in a Rockman's store believe it or not - but that's a whooooole other story! :D)
I'd really appreciate any help!
Anna

hmmm, Launceston good for shopping? ok... (sorry I shouldn't be so harsh...)
umm, depends on what you're looking for... we have noni b, suzanne grae (on st. John's street)... esther is actually pretty good (on st. J's as well, just on opposite side) - they always have a sale rack out the front and a lot of their designs are unique. Pretty woman on Charles St... Sharee Marshall's has just moved to 120 something st. John's st... next door or near to Grifin. Chenoa is on the avenue and is ok (more bridesmaid sort of stuff though) and then there is Yeltour on Charles St (if you wanted to spend your year's grocery money on one dress  )
If you're at the mall, most of the shops are just a couple of minutes walk from there...
good luck finding a dress/outfit!!
Thanks hun, yep they're the type of stores I'm after.
I just wanted someone elses opinion because mum can be a bit of a nanna with her fashion sometimes but she's getting a lot better. :D
She recommended Mary White as they have dresses from size 16 (me :o ) and they have some younger styles too.
She just wrote me an email saying she'd come up with me! So I might see if she either wants to tag along with Shane and I or if Shane wants to stay home with the kids (I'll take Alex of course!)
I'll put all those shops on my list - I know Launnie well as I lived up there for uni and all the shops sound fairly close.
Thanks!
Oh ETA: the reason I'm considering looking up north is because I have a wedding to go to next weekend at there's at least 6 shops in the Hobart CBD that are all still closed so I can't go shopping here! :(

No No! I LOVE Launceston shopping! :)
Plus they do have a Myer that you could also look at! They always seem to have more RANGE up there!
Well I'm going to Launnie on Saturday with mum and Alex! We're going dress shopping at a few of the smaller boutique places as well as Noni B, Myer (yay!) etc etc
We're taking mums car and I'll be driving (otherwise we'd get there just before Christmas  ) but I'm going to have a full on day because I have a hens night starting at 8pm back in Hobart the same day!
Wish me luck with finding something!
