Hey all!!!

I was just wondering if I should have had things done by now. I am 9 weeks tomorrow and all I have done is seen a doctor to confirm pregnancy with a HPT at 5 weeks. Should I have had blood tests or anything else by now?

He didn't even tell me anything about diet or stuff like that. When i asked "Is there anything I should do?" He said "This has been done many times before, you'll only need to see me if something goes wrong" I sort of feel a bit silly to ask him anything.

Can you guys help? I feel a bit lost.

Thanks
Hayley

Hey sweet I would find a new doc. There supposed to look after u more in ur first pg. U should have had a blood test. Did they take more than one vial of blood. They should check all ur levals and test for ur ammunity's to things like chicken pox. They also test for thing like hepititus and HIV.

He should also have offered u a 12 week scan which involves a blood test. U have to pay for it at ur age but he should have given u the choice.

Hey thanks for the reply. He didn't take any blood at all. Just did a urine test. I am gonna ring another doc tomorrow. I am booked in at the hospital for an antenatal visit at 12 weeks - but that's it!

Yep he should have got bloods done like bex said. Talked to you about what you should and should do and eat in pregnancy if its your first, booked into the hosp.

Other than that there is not much they do till 12-13 weeks but if you dont feel comfy with him either then def change docs -I did the first one I went to was ok but I really wanted a nice doc I felt happy with also wanted a lady to manage my preg I have now found a new one and she is fantastic she is really excited for me and willing to listen and hear all my questions and concerns...and gives me lots of reasurance it makes it so much easier when you feel content with your doc.

When I went to confirm a HPT he didn't do another urine test. He just ordered bloods to check my group, rubella antibodies and blood counts. Also gave me a referral for my nuchal scan. He also made sure I was taking folate as well
