i want to pick your brains:devil6:

when you reccommend a MCN to someone... what is it you tell them about...

what do you look for when you test out a nappy... is it drying time, absorbancy, design etc....

and once u consider all these things... what would youe ideal nappy be??

I look for snaps and lush/gorgeous fabrics. Also I dont really like AI2s so I look for fitteds and AIOs mostly with some pockets.

Once I have the nappy I try it out for fit mostly. Absorbancy and drying time are not big factors for me. I change often so I dont need my nappy to last for hours. Price is not an issue for me if I like the nappy.

I look at the design/fit. I like nappies with in built liners. I hate having to add my own liner. And as I said i'm a snaps fan...abosultely NO velcro in this household.

When I am telling other people about nappies I go for trusted brands and ones that I know work or are similar to sposies. I also consider cost because most cloth newbies are worried about price and convenience.

My ultimate nappy would be snapped with bamboo somewhere...it would be minkee or a gorgeous cotton print and have a built in liner.

i look at drying time - living in melbourne, i have half my stash pockets with microfibre inserts. if i didnt have so many pockets i would need A LOT more nappies. pockets dry overnight when put over the heating duct so can be put on bums again sooner.

fit - if the nappy is not a good fit/design then i will just have to waste more money buying another one. i have a poo and wee machine (sorry tmi) so fit is very important.

snaps vs velcro - velcro was fine (still is under pants), but now only snaps as ds is bigger and will rip velcro off, esp with summer coming and he wont be wearing anything over his nappy
