Has anyone had to use a paediatric surgeon in Brisbane? We are seeing a Dr Bourke - has anyone had any experience with him?

Hi!

We have a little boy (just turned 1) with a cleft lip and palate. Tye has had his lip repaired and palate is due to be repaired at the end of October (providing no more cancellations!) We have only dealt with plastic surgeons so far - who are absolutely fantastic!
May I ask why you are looking for a surgeon in Brisbane? Dr. Roy Kimble is also a wonderful Surgeon at RCH. He operated on my darling nephew a few years ago.
Everyone we have dealt with at RCH have been so kind and caring, not only to us, but with our little man.
Please let me know how you go.

Sar :fingerscrossed:

Hi there,
I just read your post and we have just had to see Dr Bourke for our daughter, who was admitted to hospital with a bacterial infection and I must say, he was brilliant. Very good bedside manner and very thourough also. She was in The Wesley but I am sure he works at the Mater also

I would recommend him for sure
Good Luck:)

Hi,
My DS was operated on by Dr Bourke, and I was impressed with how nice he was and what a good job he did.

hi!
My DD has had three surgeons, 2 for airways and one for heart.

They are Dr Perry and Dr Masters at the RCH for airways (they are ent spec.) and Dr Clarke.

I trust them so completely with my DD's life, Dr Perry is doing her next surgery also.

Hi, my DS has been referred to Doctor Peter Borzi on Brisbane Southside for surgical opinion - has anyone taken their child to see this paediatric surgeon??

We saw Dr Borzi for our DS earlier this year. He came highly recommended, we really liked him and he made DS feel as comfortable as possible under the circumstances (he has a retractile testicle). Dr Borzi explained everything very well and was not quick to rush into surgery although we will be going back to see him early next year and DS will almost certainly be booked in for surgery at that time.

Dr Borzi is fantastic! He is so great with children and really patient and understanding of hysterical mothers!:p

Can't say enough good things about him!

Good luck.
