Hi All

I have been posting on Bub Hub for over a week now and can happily say Im addicted

Its fantastic here and I have been chatting to so many friendly Mums and Mums to be but noticed its very quiet here in the Blue Mountains section of the forum.

I live in Blaxland, NSW and very familiar with the Blue Mountains area. Would love to chat to other nearby Mums, so hopefully you will see this thread and I can get to know you better.

Goodluck wit ur appt and ultrasound tomorrow! How exciting. It feels like a lifetime ago i was preg....it was only 9weeks!!

Im getting married in Blacktown in the Grek Orthodox Church (my DF is greek) and our reception is at Narragingy Reserve in Doonside. I cant wait. I actually have everything organised because we were going to get married on 3rd June this year but I got preg MUCH quicker than expected so we postponed.

Have u lived in Blaxland for long? I drive thru there about 3times a week!

That sounds like my partner and I at the beginning of the year we were planning our wedding for July this year but discovered I was pregnant in March, so had to think of money so our wedding has been postponed until after baby joins us.

Ive been in Blaxland for just over 3 years, grew up in Springwood.
I visit Penrith once or twice a week. :)

Hey there, just thought I'd introduce myself.

Hubby and I moved to Mt Riverview at the end of August 07, but we've been absolutely flat out since then, this is the first chance I've had to get online for any length of time for a chat!

Hubby grew up in Springwood so this is a bit of a homecoming for him. We absolutely love Mt Riverview.

Hi there ladies . . .ive dropped in to pick your brains. I hope you all dont mind.

I may be moving from the Hawkesbury to the blue mountains area, but i have no idea what its like to live there. Rental prices are GROWING in this area and appear a little less in the mountains.

Can any of you shed any light? Good spots? No go spots??

Would appreciate any help.

Hi Blue Mts Mums,
I am brand new to the Bub Hub but it seemed a great way to get some family friendly info about the Blue Mts from local mums.
My girlfriend and I are coming up this weekend with our children (3 boys: 4 1/2yo & 2 x 2 1/2yo's + 1 girl: 4 1/2yo). We are staying at Wentworth Falls.
I am wondering if you can suggest any good kid-friendly activities for Saturday and/or Sunday mornings. I've had a look on-line and so far have come across the Zig Zag Railway, Megalong Farm and Selwood Science and Puzzles . We will probably do the park thing and feed the ducks one morning, but something a little more interesting would be great for the other day.
We are also wondering if there are any places around that are open on the weekend that have children's activities or similar but where the adults can get some timeout too e.g. a play centre cafe or a Day Spa with childcare facilities!! (yeah, yeah, I know, I'm dreaming:laughing:).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Natalie.

Hi Ladies, just wondering if any of you have been privy to the new maternity/OBGYNO facilities at Katoomba Hosp? The old maternity unit is now the mental health unit (I know this because I had a raw case of PND earlier this year and was there for 2 months). Just found out that we are expecting bub no 2 in June 2013 but I dont want to make an appointment with Katoomba OBGYNO if they are less than mediocre. Im REALLY not a fan of Nepean Hosp but my only experiences with them are on the ward or Emergency. My 10mnth old son was born at Blacktown as an Em cesarian on the 2nd induction attempt and afterwards I contracted a cellulitis infection in my wound and copped abuse from a midwife in the middle of the night because I couldnt stand up with my infected wound and was struggling with my son. Needless to say, I wouldnt be going there again even if the hospital was next to my house!

I'm from Glenmore Park, this is a super old thread but just thought I'd pop on in case anyone knows of any mothers groups in the area, I'm 23 and due to have my first bub in Feb 2013 so would like to meet some mums with similarly aged bubba's :-)

Tegan87 - I had DS at Katoomba hospital and I cannot praise them enough. I had the BEST experience there and so did the other mummies I know who gave birth there. Wonderful midwives and excellent facilities.
I was booked in at nepean until I was 34 weeks pregnant and so happy that I ended up birthing at Katoomba.
PM me if you need any details.
