Blood test to confirm pregnancy ??

Hello
Im 14days past O & my AF is due now...37days)
I've done 3 pregnancy tests,
I did one the day before yest & that was:bfn: however i did two yest & one today... & its:bfp: Im having twinges but no sign of AF!! :smiliedance: so looks like im pregnant however it takes me a bit of convincing so i brought a Digital one i will re-test weds & hopefully its says " PREGNANT"
My question is though should i still get a blood test to confirm... i did with DS as i was so early the docs preg test said NEGATIVE & the HPT said positive... blood results were positive!!
So what are your thoughts on blood tests to confirm to make absolute sure.

Urine tests NEVER work for me so i say blood test only as i know that i could do a urine test a week after getting confirmation by bloods and it still sais i am not pregnant

Doesnt hurt to get the blood test done though sound spretty positive :)

seriously dont bother with the digital test.....they are really no good till your like a week over for AF...

ive used them and they dont work...id go to the docs and get a blood test..... JMO

If you get a BFP with a home test, I wouldn't bother with a blood test.... its virtually impossible to get a false positive on a urine test.

I got my faint BFP today and wanted to ask the same question! I feel pregnant (not that I've ever been pg before), but too many weird things going on for me not to be, so I actually don't want a blood test as I don't like them! I know I have to go to the doc to get a referral for the ob, but am kinda putting it off! Also, if you test early at home with a sensitive test and then go to the doc and do one of their urine tests, you might get a BFN cause their tests are apparently not as sensitive.

I got full bloods done 4 months ago, so hopefully I can get out of having to have one now! But of course, if I have to I will. Does anyone know if most people are told to get one? Or if it's important to get one maybe a few weeks later to check hcg levels? (Sorry, I highjacked your thread Birthingbeauty! :o )

When I went to the doc's to get my referral for the ob, he said it wasn't necessary for me to have a blood test as I had done 2 HPT's when I found out I was pg - just wanted to make sure:o !

I brought the digital one as my G/friend said they were really good, however i think her period was a week overdue, im only 15days past O or something like that- im tired thou... running around after a 22month don't help haha
3 faint:bfp: postives!!! ... Im so excited... but i do think i wanna see the words "PREGNANT" im gonna do test tomorrow & if its says "not preg" may be not enough HCG .. so i will get a blood test to confirm then.
Still no AF & its been 38days since the last!!!!! WHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!:smiliedance:
