My DS is almost 11 months old with a few teeth. I wanted to start gently brushing his teeth but he won't let me anywhere near them unless it has a bit of toothpaste on the brush. So I have bought some milk teeth toothpaste. I was wondering it says on the packet to get your child to spit after, is there a way you can teach an infant to do that, this early and will it harm him if he swallowed a bit of toothpaste??
Thanks

When Vallerie was little I would brush my teeth at the same time, and she would copy me spitting. Having said that, it wasn't an actual spit, more of a big raspberry which got toothpaste and water and goobers all over me and the bathroom!
They recommend only using a tiny bit of toothpaste, and this is in case they do swallow it. A tiny bit won't harm them. :)
colgate has my first tooth paste from age 1 to 6 (close enough to your bubs) and i put an incy bit on his little tooth brush then flush the bush with some water as you do. i get my tooth brush ready then he has a bath. while he is in the bath i brush my teeth to show him then i brush his teeth gently then i give him a go. he loves watching me brush my teeth and makes it fun. i think if its just an incy bit on his brush i wont really matter if he spits it out just as long as gets the idea of it cause you cant really tell them to spit yet can you?
hope ive been of some help. my cheeky ds is 13months by the way. arent they cute at this this age?
