I can't believe that this happened to me.... I thought I was always really careful.

I have a 2 year old DD who loves to help me out in the kitchen. I've always been really careful making sure that she's supervised the whole time she's in there with me but we had a really nasty accident a week ago - she fell off the stool backwards and we ended up in hospital for the night with concusion and 3 stitches!

I feel like absolutely the worst mother in the world :crying:.... please be careful with your little ones up on stools in the kitchen.

accidents happen, don't feel to bad. I always worry about jaxon on the stool, he uses them plastic ones that you can buy from woolie and he always wriggling around on them and he has fallen off them a couple of times. But thanks for the warning i will be extra vigilant:)

Geez, that must have been frightening for both of you.

I also love having my kids in the kitchen with me and letting them have a go at cooking. I went to the Natural Baby Expo a couple of weeks ago and found a fantastic product called the Funpod (invented by a mum of course!). My DS thinks it's his castle!

Before this I admit that I also had my kids on step stools (like Jaxcoop).

Currabub, don't beat yourself up it could have happened to me just as easily. :)

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I know it was an accident but still feel soooooo guilty. Oh well, DD is ok which is the main thing.

And thanks Milliemoo for the heads up on the Funpod. It looks really good... will talk to DH when he gets home about getting one (the black one is really funky). I'm pregnant again now so will get tons of use out of it. Besides, don't want any repeats of our mini disaster...

Don't beat yourself up about it, accidents happen. My daughter has hurt herself pretty badly before so I can relate to how you feel :hugs:
