Will he crawl?

Hi there, My son is eight months old and still not crawling or showing any interest in wanting to crawl. He still hates being put on his stomach even though I've tried to get him used to it for short periods of time every day. He cries almost the instant I put him on his belly. He's not rolling either. Should I be worried?

My sisters boy never crawled or rolled over at all, and he hated to be on his tummy. He just went from sitting to standing and then walking! :)

alice never crawled at all. she also HATED tummy time with a passion! :)
she didn't move anywhere until 12 months (which i savoured!!!!!!!!!). then she bum shuffled until ~17 months, and is 18 months tomorrow and just started walking this week! (Oh God!!!!!! :eek: )

i wouldn't worry. if everything else appears normal and healthy about him, what is to worry about!?!?!

some bubs just stand up and walk... looks ike urs will be one of them...

coby started crawling at 8 months... some babies take longer...

my brother didnt move anywhere till after one.. my parents always said it was a boy thing and they are lazy...

My DD crawled at 9 months and walked at 11 months. I wouldn't be too worried...he'll get there when he's ready. :)

They all develop in their own good time. My DD didn't start crawling until she was 10 months old then you progressed to the bum shuffle and didn't even try to pull her self up on furniture or anything.

She finally took her first steps at 16 months.

I truly believe that some babies like to suss things out first before they have a go. I am sure thats what Paige did as once she was walking it was like she had been doing it all her life. She rarely falls over and can run like the wind now:D

My bubs did commando type crawling from around the 8th month mark & it was probably only about 3wks ago he started doing a proper crawl as he was like yeah suppose i shoould LOL then the next day he got up & started cruising everywhere !!!!! :eek: His favourite thing to do now is if i put him in the playpen so i can quickly go to the toilet or grab something he just pushes it to get where he wants to go :rolleyes: Im so glad our new flooring goes down next weekend so i can put up the baby gates !!!
Im now going crazy wanting him to go back to being my little baby :(
So try not to stress soon enough your bubs will be into everything & you will be wondering just like all of us where has the time gone.

Apparently 9-10 mnths is the average age of crawling!! My dd was 10mnths nephew 10 mtnhs niece 12mnths and she was the 2nd child!! My other nephew didnt crawl until he was 11 and a bit months all of them are now over 2 and you wouldnt know any different. My other nephew OMG he started at 7 mnths, my ds is just of and he is cammondo crawling everywhere, :eek: ...

Hiya! My DS is nearly 9mnths and still not crawling. He's too happy rocking back and forth on his knees!! He's been doing it for the past month!! Mind you he couldn't even hold his own weight until he was 7mnths. He was too heavy (10.5kg at the time). He weighed in at 11.5kgs last month and that seems to be the reason he can't pull himself up on things. I was worried at first too, but I'm now grateful I don't have to chase him around the house!! My best friend's baby started crawling at 5mnths, as did another of my friend's daughter (who is now walking, has been since 7mnths!!). I'd much rather know where Brion is, leave him there, and come back to him in the same vincinity!! LOL:D

Im sure your bub will get there!!
I think they just go about at their own pace..:o each of my 3 kids did things differently!!
Let us know when the crawling starts!!..
