Hello Everyboby! :D
Just thought I'd post a new thread here as it seems I am the only one from this area, not that it matters as I'll talk to anyone from anywhere!

Hi Narelle,
Just thought i'd let you know i'm here too! I'm Jo, i'm 29 and i have 4 kids aged from 11yrs down to 8mths old
I live just over the NSW/VIC border in the Cobram area, look forward to talking to you!!
Hi Jo!
Cobram is nice, we go camping there sometimes.
What are your kids names? We've pretty much decided on names but it's kinda
daunting as it's a big thing!
StormAngel
12-04-2005, 14:16
Hi Narelle
Cobram is nice, we live on a farm halfway between there and Tocumwal on the NSW side (just)
My kids names are James Anthony, Skye Kirsty, Ebony Kaitlyn and Isabella Grace.
What names are you thinking about for your bub?
Hi Jo!
My hubby really wants Cooper if we have a boy, it'll probably be Cooper James as James sort of runs in my family, I quite like Lachlan. There are so many nice girls names we like Chloe Jasmine or Holly or Sarah, I really liked Mackenzie but my friends brother just had a baby girl and guess what they called her
I lived on a farm in Toolamba for the first 16 years of my life before my parents had enough and we moved into town, I was glad at the time but now I wish they still lived there, it was a great place to grow up right on the river :D
Talk to you again soon!
StormAngel
13-04-2005, 13:19
Hi Narelle
Those are all good names, i love cooper but it dosen't go wiht my last name.
I've lived on a farm most of my life and lived in Mulwala for a while, but now back on the farm.
I come to shepparton every so often to go shopping and stuff, whats it like living there?
Talk soon
PS- How are you feeling now your so close to bub arriving?
Hi Jo!
I'm feeling really good, getting a bit sick of my body, not my belly (I love my belly) but my hips and backside. I feel really fit and I'm sleeping pretty good, I guess I'm not really in a hurry as it's a little scary not knowing what to expect.
Living in Shepp is good, it's got everything you need pretty much and it's all close. I live a bit far to walk down the street, I could probably walk to Marketplace pushing a pram I'm sure I'll need the exercise. :D
Chat again soon!

Hi
Glad to hear your feeling good, i must admit that by the time i had #4 i was soooo sick of being pregnant! although we are going to try for #5 soon
You'll have to let me know what the Shep hospital is like! Our local hospital dosen't deliver babies  so we have to choose between Deniliquin, Shep or wodonga! I had #4 in Deni but the older three were born in Yarrawonga!
It would be nice to know what Shep Hospital is like
Marketplace is where i go shopping when i come to shep, i only go into town occasionally!
Talk soon
Hi Jo!
Wow, number 5, I can't imagine myself having 5 kids one of my friends has 2 and when I'm at her place I get tired just watching her go.
I'll be sure to let you know about my hospital experience.

Hi Narelle
Wow nearly there now :D if you haven't had bub already!!!!!
Let me know how you go!!!!
Hi Jo!
Still hanging in there! :p
My house is pretty much spotless now and I'm just waiting,
I've warned my husband that the house better still be clean when I
get home from hospital or he'll be in the s***, hope it sunk in! :D
Better get to bed and rest up you never know maybe it'll happen tonight!
See ya! ;)

Hi Narelle
WooHoo your due today :D
Get all the rest you can, even if bub is a good baby you'll still be tired!!!!
Hi Jo!
Yes I'm due today but no baby yet!
Hubby is starting to get impatient he wants to meet our little person (me too!)
StormAngel
21-04-2005, 10:46
Hi Narelle
Hopefully it wont be long!!!
Has your Dr said how long he will let you go over?
Hi Jo!
Still nothing happening!
I have a doctors appointment Tuesday if I'm still preggers and I have to go on a monitor for half an hour before that, I guess I will find out more then.
I tried bouncing on an exercise ball and sex last night but nothing happened, when I get off here I might go for a walk around the block.
Got any other ideas? Do you know where you can buy raspberry leaf tea?
StormAngel
22-04-2005, 14:13
Hi Narelle
You could try some of the health food shops in town, the ones that sell vitamins and stuff.
The sex trick worked with my last one, even though it was the last thing i wanted
Otherwise i have no idea!!
Keep well, im going away for the long weekend so if i don't catch up on tuesday i guess it'll be after you have your bub :D
Good luck, i'll be thinking of you!!!!
Thanks Jo!
Hope your long weekend is fantastic!
I have a feeling I'm going to be waiting a while yet but I could be wrong!
Talk to you next week unless I'm in hospital :D
Hi Jo!
I'm still here!
The doctor's booked me in to be induced Monday morning if nothing has happened by then so the end is in sight! :D She said I'm already 2cm dilated and there's a good chance I'll go before then so we'll see!
Hope you had a good weekend! :)
StormAngel
27-04-2005, 10:55
Hi Narelle
Had a good weekend, went down the Great Ocean Road!!
Glad to see the end is in sight, 2cm dilated you could go anytime, although i bet youre impatient for monday to come!
Keep trying some of the tricks like, walking, sex etc. it might help!!!
talk soon!!!!
Hi Jo!
Glad to hear you had a good time on the weekend! :)
Hubby is up your way today working so I think I'll wait till later to go for a walk just in case it starts something happening, although I'm sure my labour will last plenty long enough for him to get home in time, the average first labour is about 13 hours I think. There was a woman who gave birth to her first child in 25min in Echuca the other day I think on her lounge room floor, oh well who knows!
Chat to you again soon, hopefully with some exciting news! :D
StormAngel
28-04-2005, 15:54
Hi Narelle
I actually thought of you as we drove through Shep the other night, right at the hospital turn off!!
You'll probably have plenty of time, but then you just never know!!!
Good luck :)
Hi Jo!
Went to the hospital today to be monitored, only had one braxton hicks in 45min.
I have a feeling this baby isn't going to come out without some help, Monday May 2nd is looking more and more like my baby's birthday! :D
When I got home I had 4 messages on the answering machine and I was only out for a couple of hours, at least I know people are thinking of me.
I can't believe the weekend is here again already, the week never went that fast when I was working! :p
Catch you later!
StormAngel
30-04-2005, 11:38
Hi Narelle
Maybe it's a good thing the week has gone so fast!!!
As my kids would say, only 2 more sleeps :D , till bub arrives!! (unless bub decides to come before then)
You realise you are making me clucky!! hehehehe!
Hi Jo!
Well I guess that means it's time to start trying for #5! :D
I forgot to tell you when I was at the hospital yesterday I had my monitoring done in the birth suite and when I walked in I could hear a baby crying like it had just been born (not that I'd know, only from the movies) anyway it made me all nervous and excited. However, on the way out I could hear a woman screaming and you can imagine how that made me feel, oh well there's no avoiding it!
StormAngel
30-04-2005, 18:06
Hi Narelle
hehehehe! Not something a first time mum-to-be wants to hear!
But really while your in labour you just want it to end, and when bub finally arrives you just seem to put it all to the back of your mind.
Have you decided weather or not you want pain releif?
I had only pethadine and gas with all 4 babies.
If they offer it accept, cause sometimes by the time you decide you do want it it's to late to have it!
But that's entirely up to you, some people do it with no pain releif at all!!
Gee i hope i haven't made you more nervous, stupid me!!!
Talk soon!!

Hi,
I'd just like to say that 6 pounds 9oz is not tiny. My first was 3 weeks early and 4 pounds 12 oz. My second was 2 days over and 6 pounds 14 oz. If I get that again with my third I will be very thankful. Some women just don't produce big babies and I'm one of them, possibly you are too. :)

hi jlk
most of my friends are getting more excited than me at the moment, but i cant wait to have her and meet my baby girl and introduce her to the world and family
my auntie in law gave hubby and i heaps of girl clothes , it looks strange having girls clothes on the line when i am soo used to having jasons clothes on the line but im getting use to the site of it, to day is on of my off days, hubby not happy with me as i nearly ran up the **** of another car i have spent most the day sleeping/reasting on the couch and hubby has taken over the mother role towards jason ie nappy changes ect which is a big help.
hubby got a settlement from the insurance company the other day and i am proud to say that for the first time in 2yrs 6mths we own our car i feel like the weight of the world is off my shoulders.

Hi Jo and Mel!
Sorry it's taken me so long to say hello again since having my baby but whenever I have any free time I end up doing housework or sleeping, unfortunately in that order, I know I should sleep more but my house looks like a bomb exploded and I don't think my poor washing machine has had a rest. I guess I shouldn't complain too much as you two are probably busier with four kids and one and a half kids (congratulations Mel on your pregnancy not too far away now, Jo you must be getting really clucky by now lol) :D
This is only the second time I've been on the computer since Chloe was born I didnt realise if you change your signature it changes it on all of your previous posts aswell, so as you can see I had her on the 3rd of May. I wont go into too much detail as I should post a birth story, but I can say yes the pain was horrible and yes it is a distant memory now especially when I look at my little girl she is beautiful. Her name is Chloe Jasmine, she was born at 1.14am on the 3rd of May and she weighed 4.24kg which is about 9 pound 6 ounces :)
Jo, I can tell you that the midwives at the GV were great, there was maybe a couple that weren't my favourites but overall I was really happy and the food was pretty good too. The midwives that delivered Chloe were fantastic they made me feel as good and comfortable as possible and I would say consider shepp when you go for number five.
Hope you are both well! (especially you Mel make sure you rest!)
Look forward to chatting with you both hopefully more than once a month I'll see how I go :D

Hi Narelle and jkl
Congrates on you bub narelle, :) I put my feet up when i get a chance with a toddler its a bit difficult, but has been good over the past week or so my hubby has recieve a settlement from the insurance company it was just enough to pay off my car and pay for the lawyers fees, then my hubby brought us a special treat, a TV and DVD player for our bed room so i can watch TV in a comfy spot (as we all know how the last couple of weeks are just sooo uncomfy!!!) and we brought bub some clothes like singlets and bobysuits(the ones that do up between the legs).
I also experience my first lot of Brackstone Hicks which was really strange has i didnt have them with Jason, and all my hubby could say was She wasnt allowed out yet! (How nice lol), well I am 34wks on tues 7th june and counting, i am seeing the midwife then so i get to find out if bub is in position or not.
Well chat to you soon

Hi Guys! :D
Chloe is sleeping well, I'm not one of the lucky ones though that has a baby that sleeps through til morning, still doing the night feeds. What ages did your kids sleep through? Jo I understand if you can't remember all of them lol.

20-06-2005, 14:55
Hi Narelle
My kids were 10wks, 8wks, 16wks and 6wks old when they started to sleep through.
Does Chloe sleep well during the day? I found if they had a couple of good sleeps in the daytime, i could put my feet up a bit, then i didn't feel so tired when i had to get up during the night!
The last week i've been getting up to Isabella during the night cause she is teething, it seems to last a few days then she is okay again!
How is Chloe feeding?
Talk soon
Hi Jo!
Chloe is feeding really well she's a bit of a guts!
She has put on 1300 grams in six weeks, she sleeps pretty well during the day, most days, today she slept well so it gave me a chance to finally write my birth story so you can have a look if you're interested.
The other night I fed her at midnight and she didn't wake until 6am so that's pretty good, I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed.

Hi Jo and Narellle,
I have about 2-4wks to go, been having brachins hicks which is always fun (NOT!), My little man started to sleep throught the nite at bout 4-6wks give or take, when he first started sleeping throu the nite he gave me a scare, i woke up at 4am for his feed but he was not awake i think i stood over his crib for about 5mins just to make sure he was still breathing, as my health sister said to me if bub does it three to four nites in a row it is perment, which was fantasic last feed for jason (when he was on the boob) was finished at midnite then the first feed for the day was bout 630-7am which was very nice!!!! :p
Hope chole sleeps throu for u soon, good luck!!
Some bubs are natural born sleepers during the nite and are wide awake during the day but some are natural born nite owls and sleepers during the day
Jo hope your munchkins are all doing well, i can totally understand bout teething, Jason is getting his 2yr old moulers so he has wonderful nappies and been a grumpy litttle gnome!!LOL :D and i have been keeping the local chemist in buisenss with the amount of pandol i have been buying

Great to hear everything is going well for you Mel, I'm still doing night feeds some nights, sometimes she sleeps through and sometimes she doesn't.
Good luck Jo trying for #5 that's very exciting :D
Bye for now :)
Hi again!
I didn't think I would be back in hospital so soon but I'm going in Monday for an operation to get my gall bladder removed. I've been having pain attacks since Chloe was born and I was diagnosed with gall stones, apparently they can be caused by the extra estrogen produced by pregnancy or something like that.
Anyway I've been expressing so hubby can feed Chloe on Monday and we tried her out yesterday and she wouldn't drink from a bottle, I thought we might have trouble as she wont have a dummy either. So I bought a different bottle one with a teat that's very similar to a nipple and we had success, hubby was pretty thrilled with the whole event and he's not so stressed about Monday now. I felt kind of jealous sharing my job with him. :D
Anyway I hope you are both well, talk again soon!

hello
Well can you belive that Tamika is now 6wks old!! we have been having a few problems with her, she keeps gaining weight then losing what she has gained (in doctors terms failing to thrive, which makes me feel like s*** ) she is soo tiny still when she was born she was 7 lbs 2oz and now 6wks on shes only 7lbs 4ozs so in reality she has only gained 2ozs since birth which is not good, but the funny thing is that she is bening a pig on the breast ie nearly an hr on one side and sometimes she has 100mls of formula top up as well and she is still not gaing weight, it has the doctors baffeled on whats going on with her, we have had blood tests done, urine tests done & they all came back negitive so she has no infections or any of that. so we are so confused at the moment, i called the maternal child helpline last thursday and the stupid ***** call DHS saying that my kids are at risk, and that nite a shrink called me to have a "chat" an 1.5hrs (and on 2.5 yr old running around the house like a child who has just drank 6 glasses of red cordial) later i finally get off the phone. So now myself and hubby are suffering from information ova load, we just simply dont know what to do, so we let her feed for how ever long she wants and fingers crossed she sleeps and settles, if we dont she will cry for anything from 1hr to 4hrs non stop reguardless how much cuddles and comfort you give her. My hubby had to see his doctor on wednesday and he has given him more meds to help him to cope with things.
Sorry its so long i just need to get it off and out of my head, hope everything is going well with you,
Hear from you soon
Melissa

Hi Mel!
I'm sorry to hear that things aren't going that well for you, I wish I could help but I'm new to this so I don't have that much good advice to give. Maybe you could go and see a lactation consultant I've heard sometimes babies can be sucking but not really drinking that much, good luck with it.
Chloe and I are well, last night I put her to bed at 6.30pm and she didn't wake up until 8am this morning I had to get up anyway and check on her just to make sure she was alright, too bad she doesn't sleep like that every night.
Hope things improve, talk again soon!

Hello. Firstly congratulations. :D
I remember with my son it seemed that I was feeding him all the time, and long periods. I could never work out why he would scream his little lungs out an hour after I'd feed him. Apparently, I had quantity but not quality. There was enough milk but not good enough. I was always on the go and proberbly not eating as I should have. I went to see the nurse and I told her I wanted to go to formula. I just felt it was what I needed to do. Being put off from this, I waited another week, and still no improvement, decided to go the chemist and change to the formula. He became so content after that.
I knew what he was actually having and could see for myself whether it was something other than hunger. For me it was the best thing, and for him too. It might be that, it might not. It could be too that you are thinking that he is hungry and its wind and you are feeding him more ontop of that , which would make him scream with pain. It is soo hard working it out, but you will. ( but that doesn't explain the lack of weight gain does it) Anyway i hope I have been of some help. Take care ..

sorry i havent been around but i feel like i have been to hell and back a million times ova, Well as u all know i had a little girl Tamika 9wks ago every thing was fine for the frist couple of weeks then it all started, she wouldnt settle, waking up every 1.5hrs and always looking for food and wanting to suck but she wouldnt take the dummy eventhou i have spent aabout $60 on the stupid things, then myself and hubby had enough (as we were always fighting bout the most smallest things) so we took her to our local gp and he said that she is failing to thrive but how the f@#$% could she be failing to thrive i have that much brest milk that i express after each feed and she is attaching well and has the suck swallow reflex down pat, so that made me feel like a crap mum.Tamika was not gaiand keeping the weight on ie she would gain 100grams but lose 80grams of that 100grams so thus she hasnt gotten past the 7 lbs 4ozs mark, so we tried everthing i mean EVERYTHING to the point that was just plain stupid 15mins on both breast and 15 mins on bottle then 10mins on each breast and 20mins on bottle, we tired different formulas. anti-reflux, thinkened, then we went to see a peditrition and he said the same she is failing to thrive no s@#$t so the addmitied she to hospital for a week which was fun NOT! a week of sleeping in a armchair did the back wonders NOT!
so in total since brith she has gained bout 250grams that is in 9wks which is not good she is still soo tiny,so now she is off the breast much to my disapointment, and on straight bottle and a different type of formula the 5th one we have tried but hopefully this one works she appears to be more settled but its really to early to tell, and the DR has but her on zantac three times a day to stop the heart burn sounds silly that a 9wk old has heart burn but she hasnt got colic or reflux the doctors dont now whats happening we have to go to the health sisters twice a week to see if she is putting weight on and keeping it on or not, we find out on tuesday 13 if she has put weight on or not then friday we see the health sister agian to see if she has kept the weight on, and to top all the stuff off now because of my stupitiy of asking for help Child Prodection Agency is now involed all becasue i rang the Maternal child help line ( never ring they cos this might happen to u) cos i was soo desrprate to try and settle Tamika, the stupid ***** on the phone though that i was going to hurt Tamika because she would stop crying, i would NEVER hurt any of my kids i rather go play chicken on the western highway during peak hour,so for the past 4wks CPA has been on our backs, even when i was in hospital they were ringing up every day to cheak Tamika was still there, but the dumb thing is that they havent spoken to my peditrition yet who is the main doctor involved, on on this monday the stupid person from CPA is coming out to cheak things ova, I was so insulted the other day one stupid lady asked me if i was holding my sons doll, as if my son would have a doll in public! then Tamika moved and burped and the lady just look at me and i walked off, Anyway all that hows things going you u two hope everything is well at our end speek to u all soon
sorry it is long but ineed to vent :(
I will keep u all posted

Hello!
Chloe and I are doing fine, she has cut her two bottom teeth which was exciting!
Not long now and I'll have to introduce solids, bugga more work! I'm a bit lazy
and wish I could just breast feed (no preparation needed!) ;)
Sorry Mel I can't help you with the eggs, I know nothing about that!
Hi Jo hope you are well!
Talk again soon!

Hi Jo!
Chloe and I are great! She has six teeth now and is sort of crawling,
she can sit up by herself and waves a lot too! I'm a bit sick of dadadad
though she has said mumumum and bububub but not for ages, it's all
about dad.
I must get back into the hub! Talk again soon.
